Windows 11 Will Support Android Apps: Here’s What You Need To Know
To run Android apps on your Windows 11 PC or laptop, you won’t need an emulator like Bluestacks or the YourPhone App (That lets you run Android apps on Windows PC provided you have a Samsung Galaxy with the right specs to go with). Why? Because these Android apps will be able to run natively.
So, does that mean Microsoft has gotten into a partnership with Google to have Google Play Store on Windows? The answer is no!

Soon you might want to bid adieu to your Windows 10 and say high to Windows 11. One reason being that if you are a licensed Windows 10 user, the new upgrade will be free. And, if you want to dive deeper and want to check if your current version of Windows 10 is all set for the update, do check this post. And, if your Windows 10 is eligible, you are in for a treat!
You will be able to enjoy Android apps on Windows 11
Intel’s Bridge Technology will make it possible
You could find apps in Start Menu or even pin them to the Taskbar
You could download Android apps from Amazon Play StoreHow Will Android Apps Work On Windows 11?
The Android apps will run natively on Windows 11, thanks to Intel’s Bridge Technology which is a run time post compiler that allows non-native applications to run natively on x86 processors. Intel also confirmed that not only will Intel bridge support the x86 platform, it will also support AMD and ARM platforms as well. That means Android apps will work on Intel 10th and 11th generation processors as well as AMD processors.
Here’s how you will be able to get and run Android apps on Windows 11 – you will need to install the Amazon app store, a strong alternative to Google Play Store. You will be able to find the app store integrated into the new Microsoft Store. There is no denying the fact that despite being strong alternatives to Google Play Store, Microsoft Store, and Amazon’s Fire Tablet (That run on a modified Android) both have holes, yet, this merger will surely bring them benefits. And, Microsoft has already promised that it will make it easier for developers to get their apps in the Microsoft Store. The Downside
Not every Android app or game in the Amazon Appstore will run on Windows 11 at least for a moment. So, how would a user quench the thirst for an app that’s not there on Amazon Play Store? Will it be possible to get third-party Android packages, which are more popularly known as APKs? And, if yes (and as many executives believe it to be), won’t that jeopardize your Windows computer and your Android’s safety. There are many such questions on which clarity is still to be attained.Wrapping Up: Quick Reaction:

Thinking of Subletting in Boston? Here’s What You Need to Know 7 tips to help students

HousingThinking of Subletting? Here’s What You Need to Know 7 tips to help students
Some students have big plans in the coming months—a long-awaited study abroad semester or a summer internship in a city far from Boston. But what to do if you’ve signed a yearlong lease on an off-campus apartment? Trying to figure out what to do can be daunting. Class Facebook pages already have plenty of requests from people looking to find someone to take over their rent, as well as those looking to move in somewhere temporarily.1. Know when you initially sign a lease that you’re obligated for a full 12 months
Leases in Boston tend to run from September 1 to August 31 of the following year. That means if you’re leaving for a summer internship when classes end, you’re still on the hook for rent. That’s why so many students choose to find a subletter.2. Determine if you’re coming back to the apartment or leaving for good
Be aware that while the term “sublet” is used for different scenarios, there’s actually a difference between a true sublet and what’s called an assignment, Santo says.
A sublet is when a student is going to be leaving the apartment temporarily, for a certain amount of time, and wants to come back to that same apartment and that same lease. “They’re looking for someone to take their space while they’re away,” Santo says. “An assignment is when you are looking to end your lease early, but your landlord isn’t letting you break the lease, so you need to find someone to take over your space. You’re basically reassigning the lease to someone else.”3. Talk to your landlord and tell them your plans
If you are looking to sublet your room or apartment, you first need to make sure your landlord will allow it. Santo says some leases have built-in clauses that prevent sublets, while others do not. For those leases that have a clause expressly prohibiting sublets, students should still talk to the landlord and see if they’ll make an exception.
Santo says that 9 times out of 10, landlords who rent to college students know that the same person may not be in the space for 12 months. Most landlords are willing to work with you to sublet the apartment.
In those cases where the landlord says no, a very small percentage of students will leave and continue to pay.4. The great subletter hunt
The easiest route to find a subletter is by word-of-mouth, recommends Jay Font (CAS’22), who sublet an apartment this past summer. He started his search too late to move into a friend’s place as planned, but lucked out finding something on the Social Call Instagram page (formally known as BU Gigs).
Other students go the Facebook route, either posting to Marketplace or the class Facebook pages, but Santo recommends posting on the BU Off-Campus Housing page, where you can create an account for free with your BU Kerberos information. Be prepared to give a tour of your apartment and room, either in person or over FaceTime.5. Your landlord may want a say about who you choose…and that’s their right
Santo says some landlords want to take an active role in screening whoever is going to take your space, and that’s fair, she says. “They may not like the person you found to sublet, and they are within their rights to say, ‘Sorry, find someone else.’”6. Help the person you find know what to expect
Once you find your subletter, put them in touch with your landlord. Make sure they understand the terms of the lease and that their rent payments should be paid directly to the landlord. Also, let the subletter know the date you intend to move back in, so there’s no dispute later on.
Font says many of the apartments he found came furnished, since the person subletting was temporarily moving out and planned to return.7. Put everything in writing
“If your primary means of communication with the landlord is over email and they send you a note back saying, ‘Sure, you can have a subletter,’ that counts as a written agreement,” Santo says. “If you can get an addendum added to your signed lease, that’s even better.”

President Trump issued an executive order today announcing what the White House calls an “American AI Initiative.” The order encourages research in the field of artificial intelligence in the United States.
The announcement is based on principles that touch on issues like AI and jobs, and the relationship between American artificial research and the international community. The first principle lays out the main idea: the U.S. should “drive technological breakthroughs in AI across the Federal Government, industry, and academia in order to promote scientific discovery, economic competitiveness, and national security.”
In short, the executive order says to the federal government, academia, and private sector: Do more artificial intelligence.
The memo does not provide any new money for the initiative, although it does call for the White House Office of Management and Budget and the relevant agencies to prioritize funding artificial intelligence. Why now?
“AI has become one of the hot topics here in Washington,” says Jim Lewis, a senior vice president and director of the technology policy program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. “Everyone’s worried about it, and they’re worried about being in a race with China.”
While an executive order promoting AI may generally be a good thing, Lewis points out that that the initiative comes with no new funding. “If we’re serious, we have to pay,” he says.
It’s worth remembering that artificial intelligence is already everywhere, with or without an executive order. That’s because tech companies, universities, and researchers use AI—and the important field of machine learning that is under the AI umbrella—to get things done. For example, AI-powered systems do everything from recognizing Yelp photos and estimating real estate prices to translating languages on Facebook or even just helping noise-canceling headphones work.
“AI is not just a curiosity,” says Tom Mitchell, the interim dean of Carnegie Mellon’s School of Computer Science and a machine learning expert. “It’s a technology that’s going to fundamentally change much of our daily lives.”What can the government do to help?
“I think we need, and suspect will get, more than symbolic support,” Mitchell says. One key place where the government could get involved the field is using artificial intelligence to help improve medicine. AI has already shown itself to be good at doing things like reading X-rays or even potentially speeding up how fast an MRI machine can run, but it could also help look for patterns at a larger scale.
Consider all the electronic medical records at hospitals across the country. Using machine learning algorithms to look for patterns in those files could potentially help experts “discover better ways of treating diseases,” Mitchell says. Figuring out how to make that data shareable, while also respecting patient privacy, is a job that the government could help with because it’s a project that’s much bigger than just one hospital. “Then it’s not a technology problem, so much as it’s an organizational problem,” he says.
Another action the government could take: help create more skilled AI workers. “We have a significant shortage of AI expertise, relative to the demand for it,” he says, whose high starting salaries are evidence of just that shortage. What if the government funded, or incentivized, a master’s program in AI that coders could take? Actions like that, he says, could help eliminate the labor bottleneck. (The executive order does say that agencies giving out grants for education should “consider AI as a priority area.”)The international picture
“It’s good to have a strategy,” he says. “It would be better if it had some money attached to it, but let’s be a little more confident about how the U.S. will move forward.”
Meanwhile, Pedro Domingos, the author of the AI-focused book The Master Algorithm, and a professor of computer science at the University of Washington, says that this is a time that calls for more U.S. leadership in the field. “We’re at a Sputnik moment for AI, and we need the White House to take the lead in getting government, academia and industry working together to accelerate progress in the field,” he wrote, via email. “China is on track to surpass the US in AI within a decade.”
Windows 11 22H2 (2023 Update) started rolling out on September 20, 2023, for compatible devices. This is the first feature update since the original release that introduces several new features, updates for existing features, visual changes to make the experience more consistent, and a slew of fixes and improvements.
Since version 22H2 is a significant update that requires reinstallation and brings a lot of changes, you are probably wondering a bunch of questions about the upgrade, features availability, and problems. Also, you may want to know why tabs in File Explore are missing after the upgrade. For these reasons, I compiled a number of questions to provide the answers.Windows 11 22H2 frequently asked questions
These are the most common questions on Windows 11 22h2.
Should I install Windows 11 22H2 on my computer?
Yes, you should upgrade your device to version 22H2. At the time of this writing, the new version doesn’t seem to have many known issues that should discourage you from installing the update. However, this question has a more complex answer.
Will the installation delete my files?
If you plan to perform an in-place upgrade with the Installation Assistant or mount the ISO file, the setup should not delete your files, settings, or apps. However, there’s always a chance of something going wrong with the installation or hardware failure. As a result, you should never proceed with any installation (in this case, the Windows 11 2023 Update) without creating a full backup of your computer and files.
How big is the Windows 11 22H2 download?
It depends. If you plan to upgrade from Windows Update, the system will only download the necessary files based on your current installation. So, depending on your device configuration, the download may be bigger or smaller than on other computers.
However, Microsoft has noted that the team has made changes to this release, reducing download size by around 450MB (14 percent).
If you plan to upgrade using the ISO file or other tools, the file size is around 5.2GB.
Can I upgrade my device with unsupported hardware to Windows 11 22H2?
Technically, you can upgrade a device with unsupported hardware to Windows 11 22H2, but it’s not recommended because it’s not supported. However, this won’t be possible through the Windows Update settings. Instead, you will need to use the ISO file or USB bootable media to perform a clean installation or an in-place upgrade.
Can I upgrade my Windows 10 computer to Windows 11 22H2?
Yes, upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 22H2 is a supported option. If you have a computer that meets the minimum requirements, you will find the option to upgrade in the Windows Update settings.
Is Windows 11 22H2 free?
Yes, Windows 11 22H2 is free on devices already running the original version of Windows 11 or Windows 10.
Can I activate Windows 11 22H2 with a Windows 10, 8.1, or 7 product key?
Yes, you can use a product key that belongs to Windows 10, 8.1, or 7 to activate a new installation of Windows 11 22H2.
Will Windows 11 22H2 download and install automatically on my computer?
No, version 22H2 is available as an optional update, which means the update won’t download and install automatically. If the device is compatible, you need to trigger the upgrade through Windows Update manually.
The only exception is if the computer has a version of Windows nearing the end of support. If this is the case, the feature update will install automatically. However, this doesn’t happen during the early days of the rollout. Usually, Microsoft will announce its intention to upgrade devices automatically days before it occurs.
How long does it take to install Windows 11 22H2?
If you are using the Windows Update approach to upgrade, the installation should take around 30 minutes. However, it’ll also depend on your internet connection and hardware configuration.
If you plan to perform a clean installation, the installation should take around one to two hours since you have to reconfigure your settings, restore your files from backup, and reinstall applications.
Where are the Tabs in File Explorer on Windows 11 22H2?
Tabs in File Explorer are considered part of the Windows 11 22H2, but the feature won’t be available after the upgrade. Microsoft is holding off this and a few other features to release them in the next moment update is expected to arrive in October (as a preview) and then in November for everyone.
If you can’t wait, you can enable tabs in File Explorer using these instructions.
Can I move the Taskbar to the top on Windows 11 22H2?
Do I need to prepare the computer before the installation?
Yes, it’s not required, but you want to prepare your computer before upgrading to minimize the chances of problems. For example, before the upgrade to version 22H2, you want to create a full backup to protect your files and the current setup. If something happens, you will have a way to roll back to the previous version.
You may want to review the available storage to make sure you have enough space to complete the upgrade. Also, you may want to remove apps and disconnect peripherals that may cause conflicts during the upgrade. You can learn more about how to prepare for version 22H2 in this guide.
Where do I start after upgrading to Windows 11 22H2?
The Windows 11 22H2 is a big update that includes new and updates existing features. It also introduces visual changes and a slew of improvements and changes. You can learn about everything that’s new with this release in this guide.
Why is the computer running low in space after the upgrade?
When you perform an in-place upgrade, the setup will create a copy of the previous installation in case something happens during the upgrade and a rollback is necessary.
The only caveat is that even if the installation completes successfully, the setup will keep the files of the previous installation, and if your computer has limited space, you may find that the hard drive is running out of space.
Does the Windows 11 22H2 have any performance issues?
According to a few reports, you may run into some installation issues, such as the update appearing stuck during download or installation.
Some users are noticing frame rate drops (FPS) on Nvidia graphics while playing games. In addition, some users are reporting Blue Screen of Death.
You can use this guide to learn more about the known issues on version 22H2 blocking the installation.
What’s the best way to install Windows 11 22H2?
The best way to get the Windows 11 22H2 is through the Windows Update settings. If you don’t see the notification, you shouldn’t force the upgrade using other methods because it could be the case that your computer configuration is not yet fully compatible with the feature update.
If you have had the same installation for some time, instead of upgrading, you should consider wiping out the hard drive and starting from scratch with a clean install of Windows 11 22H2. It takes longer, but it will help to resolve existing issues, including performance and shutdown problems.

Hyponatremia, or drinking too much water, is a rare but severe condition that can result in death. This condition happens when the body’s cells are deprived of the proper amount of sodium, which has significant consequences for athletes. Here are some amazing things to know about this issue.
Sodium is pivotal for maintaining proper blood pressure. It also helps maintain fluid balance by preventing dehydration, which is why it’s essential for survival outside the womb and during physical exertion. The body’s need for sodium is higher than estimated due to a combination of factors, including a diet rich in processed foods with added salt and modern living conditions that are often too dry to prevent exercise-related dehydration.
In extreme cases, athletes with hyponatremia can pass out or die due to potentially fatal brain swelling. The condition is sometimes referred to as ‘salty death’ because of the high sodium content in sweat and the increased risk of death when water is consumed in excess.
People who overdrink liquids risk losing significant amounts of sodium from their systems. People drinking large quantities of water for 24 hours will lose about 2 pints (about half a gallon) of water from their systems. Drinking that same volume of water in just one hour can result in a dangerous imbalance in the body’s sodium levels. This is because it takes about 10-15 minutes for your body to make sure you have enough sodium to meet your needs, and if you drink too much water before, then your body doesn’t have time to do so.
Many athletes drink large amounts of fluid during and after exercise, exacerbating the problem. The good news is that you don’t lose body sodium when you sweat, so you can limit the risk of hyponatremia by not drinking more than you lose through sweat.
It’s estimated that at most levels of training and performance, athletes who drink enough fluids to prevent dehydration during exercise will also avoid hyponatremia. Because most athletes don’t lose a harmful amount of water and electrolytes, there’s no need for special treatment or additional intake beyond what’s needed to maintain good health. For competitive athletes or others who put extreme demands on their bodies, consuming extra fluids may make sense to protect against dehydration. Some Tips to Avoid Hyponatremia
If you are thirsty, drink. Hydrate before your thirst kicks in.
Don’t rely on thirst to tell you when to drink. If you are sweating, drinking, and eating salty foods, it’s possible that your body may need more water than your natural thirst signals.
Don’t force yourself to drink more than 16 ounces (one pint) of fluid every 15-20 minutes during physical activity or competition at a temperature above 90 degrees F (32ºC). Rely on your thirst signal to know how much water is left in it so you know how much more you can drink without exceeding the maximum limit.
Consider your fluid intake 24 hours before an intense activity or competition. If you consumed a lot of fluid, wait until after the activity to consume more, and make it mostly water.
Don’t think more is better regarding how much you drink after a workout or event. With exercise-induced dehydration, your body is already trying to get back to its ‘normal’ state; overdrinking can lead to hyponatremia, which could be life-threatening if it results in brain swelling.
As soon as possible, after intense physical activity, take some salt and ensure that you consume food rather than just fluids.
When traveling, check your sodium levels before and during any activity with a dehydration risk. If you notice any signs of hyponatremia (headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness), drink extra water and sodium to replace what was lost before exercising again.
Follow the 7-day test after intense physical activity or competition to ensure you’re not too dehydrated and at risk of hyponatremia.
Don’t overhydrate after being inactive for a long time, such as missing several training days or competitive events.
Don’t overhydrate after excessive sweating in hot weather.Other things you should know about Hyponatremia
You may have an excessive amount of sodium present in the body. This is a serious situation that can be handled medically. Instead of dehydrating, hyponatremia is brought on by drinking too much water. Because doing so could throw your body’s natural chemistry out of whack. Still, hyponatremia happens when you take in a lot of fluid and lose a reasonable amount of liquid (insensible losses like sweating), resulting in too much water entering the bloodstream or when you drink too much water to replace what was lost during physical activity, particularly with the modern tendency to under consume fluids during exercise (often with sports drinks).
Hyponatremia treatment includes drinking a sodium chloride solution or taking a drug that increases sodium levels and fluid retention (saline administration). If water intake has stopped, this could be done by giving an enema and putting the person in a room with higher air pressure. If severe, it may require dialysis.
Hyponatremia has been reported in an estimated 1% to 2% of marathon runners, triathletes, other endurance athletes, and cross-country skiers. About 16% of people who died from hyponatremia while participating in a sports event also had asthma and often used inhalers during exercise. Multisport athletes with asthma doing more than one sport have been reported to suffer more frequently from hyponatremia.
Hyponatremia occurs in the range of one-third of endurance athletes at elite levels competing in the hot conditions found in marathons and triathlons and is most common during short sprint events such as track races. It is also common among cyclists, swimmers, runners, rowers, and other endurance athletes who drink two to three non-electrolyte sports drinks or gels per hour as part of their routine. The key risk factors for developing hyponatremia are excessive consumption of water or artificially sweetened drinks and replacing sodium lost by sweating. Conclusion
Concludingly, ensure you are safe and responsible for water consumption. If in doubt, rehydrate before you’re thirsty, and don’t overdo it, especially if you’re an athlete competing in a heatwave.
