Suggested January 2024 The Mandalorian Season 2 Finale Post
There are several creatures in this scene – most of them are unimportant. But we’ll take a peek at each anyway. Cross your fingers the ones that don’t immediately die get their place in the rabble come next winter.
1. Twi’lek Dancer (not Oola)
The chained dancer character here reminds us of the character Oola, from Return of the Jedi. Both were Twi’lek, as characterized by the pair of lekku (appendages) protruding from their skull. Per Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary (2023), this Twi’lek skin tone (blue) is called Rutian.
Given the current Star Wars production propensity to incorporate characters in shows or movies that’ve popped up in the past, there’s a decent chance this character is one of the several Rutian Twi’leks we’ve seen before.
It’s probably not Jedi Master Aayla Secura, since she was killed on-screen. Kaasha Bateen appeared in the novel Last Shot and COULD be age-appropriate, given the novel’s timeline. Slightly older but still within reasonable age to tie in here are the twin masseuses Ann Gella and Tann Gella. They appeared at the Boonta Eve Classic race in The Phantom Menace – the idea that they’d still be sticking around Jabba’s Palace all these years later is… less plausible.
The most likely scenario here is that this character is meant to represent the continued oppression of gang leadership after Jabba’s death. If we had any question about whether Bib Fortuna was a better leader than Jabba, this character confirms the answer: no, absolutely not.
2. Weequay guard
It’s interesting to see a Weequay here after Jabba’s death, given what we know from the Star Wars novel Bloodline. In it, we find that many Nikto species filled the void left by Jabba, celebrating the death of the hutt as they created their own crime syndicate.
It’s unlikely this is any Weequay we’re supposed to recognize. As is often the case with gang member characters in Star Wars, this fellow is here to die. NOTE: There’s another one of these guys in the background – right next to a very well-hidden jawa!
3. Bib Fortuna
This very large Twi’lek seems to have replaced his former master’s place, both figuratively and literally. We know Twi’lek males tend to get larger (and rounder) as they get older – but this rather radical change is likely in place to describe a rapid descent into decadence and sloth.
4. Nikto
As noted above – it’s strange to see a Nikto here, given their reorganization into alternate crime families after Jabba. But this is the modern age of Star Wars, and every character can act how they like, break with tradition, etc. – as The Mandalorian has indicated throughout the series.
5. Ree-Yees (Gran, 3 eyes)
This dude. He’s been hanging out at Jabba’s Palace since Return of the Jedi and was present on Jabba’s Sail Barge when it crashed. If it weren’t for the appearance of Bib, proving it was POSSIBLE to survive that event, I’d say Ree-Yees was dead. If I had to bet, I’d bet this was meant to be Ree-Yees.
6. Rystall Sant
This character with bright red hair is almost certainly meant to be Rystall Sant. She’s a Theelin, or a human-Theelin hybrid, depending on who you ask. She appeared in the film Return of the Jedi, singing “Jedi Rocks” in the modern version of the film (starting with “Special Edition”).
Rystall notably ALSO appeared to have garnered the affections of one Boba Fett in another scene in Return of the Jedi. She was the character whose face Boba Fett touched before he returned to the fray, just before the bunch headed to the Sarlacc pit.
Rystall Sant was included in the official Lucasfilm-made Star Wars Visual Guide for Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Thanks to the screenshot above from FanGirlBlog back in 2023, we know Rystall was actually in a scene in Revenge of the Sith, too. There’s a very good chance this character at the palace is, once again, Rystall Sant.
7. Quarren
We’ve seen some of these creatures in an earlier episode of The Mandalorian, when he dropped by the planet Mon Calamari for a fun time on the high seas. If we’re to assume this is the same Quarren that was known to hang out at Jabba’s Palace in the past, this is Tessk.
8. Gamorrean guards
The big pig guards you see walking around at the beginning of the scene, rolling down the stairs, attempting to defend Bib… they’re all throwaway Gamorrean guards. They’re cannon fodder, as they’ve always been.
9 and 10. The new bosses
Fennec Shand and Boba Fett are the new bosses of this palace, and likely the new lords of a future crime empire. Per The Mandalorian, “The Book of Boba Fett” will be “coming December 2023.” Take a peek at additional Mandalorian episode explorations in the timeline below, and stay tuned as we stay on-point with the Star Wars in-depth action through the future!

After Season 4’s unprecedented success due in no small part to the Marvel-themed weapons and skins, Fortnite is yet again partnering with a Disney-owned franchise in a bid to cater to the exceptional surge in popularity for the latest Star Wars series.
In this guide, we go through Fortnite’s theme for Season 5, the new Battle Pass as well as the steps that players need to take to get their hands on their favorite bounty hunter’s skin and adorable sidekick’s back bling.

New Season, New Theme – This is the Way!
After an epic finale to Season 4 that saw Wolverine, Iron Man, and Thor destroy the Galactus, Fortnite’s Marvel arc is finally over and has now made a return to its own storyline.
With Galactus’ plans of stealing the Zero Point energy source thwarted, Season 5, dubbed simply ‘Zero Point’, picks up from where Season 4 ended. But the destruction has left a major part of the map.
Agent Jones, who appeared at the end of the Nexus War event, is now tasked with preserving the energy source that creates Fortnite’s reality while simultaneously hunting down anyone who attempts to escape the Loop.
To accomplish this task, Agent Jones is recruiting a motley crew of hunters from different realities, including the Mandalorian (Din Djarin) and Baby Yoda.

Zero Point Battle Pass
The new season also ushers in a new Battle Pass that comes with a variety of skins, weapons, items, map changes, quests, and challenges for players to explore and grind through. The basic Battle Pass will cost you 950 V-bucks.
Some of the skins are based on in-game designs, while others are more aesthetically oriented such as the ones we will show you how to get in a short while.
As players recruit new characters and complete quests, they will also receive bounties, something that is new to Fortnite. These can be spent on weapons and upgrades as a part of the new ‘Bars’ mechanic.
With plenty of in-game changes and additions to Fortnite, Zero Point promises to be one of the best seasons so far. Moreover, there are a lot of crossover characters yet to make an appearance from different realities. Until we find that out, let’s take a look at how you can get the Mandalorian skin and the Baby Yoda back bling.

Getting the Mandalorian Skin
Before you get your Mandalorian skin, you’ll have to purchase the Season 5 Battle Pass (or the Fortnite Crew Membership that includes the Battle Pass).
That is all that you need to do to get this skin. Unlike the previous seasons where you had to complete a series of challenges to unlock special skins such as those of Wolverine and Deadpool, the Mandalorian skin is automatically unlocked at Level 1.

But if you want to upgrade your Mandalorian armor, you’ll have to complete the Beskar challenges, which is only fair given that you don’t have to sweat to get the skin in the first place. If you want to further make aesthetic changes to the Mandalorian skin, you have to reach level 100.
Getting Baby Yoda (The Child) Back Bling
To unlock the Baby Yoda back bling, you’ll have to reach Level 100 in the new Battle Pass. Of course, you’ll have to purchase it first. Level up by going through challenges and quests and being on top of your game. As soon as you hit Level 100, Baby Yoda back bling will be unlocked automatically. Thereafter, you can equip it with any skin that you currently have, but we all know it won’t look as awesome as it does with the Mandalorian skin.
That is all that you need to know about getting spruced up with the latest skin and your cute sidekick. As of December 2, the Mandalorian skin is live and you shouldn’t have any trouble in accessing it once you purchase the Season 5 Battle Pass.

New Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 Incoming: Time To Get Spooky!
New Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 incoming: Time to get spooky!
Epic Games just revealed information about the final bit of action in Fortnite’s Chapter 2, Season 7 grand finale: Operation: Sky Fire! This is all about the aliens, it’s all about the whole “The Last Reality” business, it’s all about the Imagined Order (IO), and what’s to come of the lot. If you’ve been waiting for this Season 7 IO undercover agent business to reach its peak, the time is NIGH!
Operation: Sky Fire will take place on September 9, 2023, ONE TIME. This is a free, one-time event that Epic suggests “players won’t want to miss.” This event is different from most in that replays will NOT be available. For anyone. Even you, Jerry. The main event begins at 4PM ET on September 12.
Starting at 10AM ET, (also on September 12, 2023,) players will want to “gather and spend your Bars for this season’s Bargain Bin Wild Week.” The event will begin later in the day, and it’ll mark the end of Epic Quests, Superman Quests, and it’ll be the last time players will be able to exchange their currently held Battle Stars.
On September 9 at 10AM ET, Bargain Bin Wild Week for the season begins. There’ll be a new Legendary Quest that’ll reward players with XP for “offloading your cache of Bars”. Any unclaimed Battle Stars or Alien Artifacts at the end of Chapter 2, Season 7, will be “automatically redeemed for rewards and styles starting with the earliest available unlocks.”
Quests outside of the Battle Pass will carry over into the next season. Epic gave examples like Vox Hunter and LeBron James as Quests that will carry over into the new season.
Operation: Sky Fire will allow all players to join, for free. You’ll want to join the event with a full lobby of 16 friends, and doors open 30 minutes before the main event starts. You’re going to want to drop in with as many partners on this mission as possible.
This event will be like a reverse invasion on those that would otherwise do the invading, with all players hitting aliens where it hurts… their own spaceship. Epic’s announcement suggests that players will want to “wear a suitable disguise” because “invading an alien spaceship should be done in style.” Then we can get this all over with and move on to Chapter 8!*
NOTE: September 12 is a Sunday, so those of you out there already in school or heading back to school this week better make sure they’re DONE WITH HOMEWORK before this event begins. Parents – be keen to this situation. The event itself might not last the whole night, but once a person starts playing Fortnite for the night… things can get involved.
*Based on what we’ve heard over the past few weeks, Season 8 will likely spin right into Halloween with some Sideways action. We’re talking a bit purple ooze spilling forth from an alternate dimension. Not necessarily straight up Stranger Things, but… basically Stranger Things (without the branding). It’s going to get SPOOKY in here.
Instagram Carousels Are The Most Engaging Post Type
According to a recent study, posts on Instagram are likely to be more successful if they contain a carousel – versus a single photo or video.
Socialinsider examined over 22 million Instagram posts, of which nearly 3 million were carousels.
In addition to finding carousels generate the most engagement, the study breaks down what the top performing carousel posts have in common.
Given that Instagram carousels allow for up to 10 photos or videos, finding the right balance of media to include can be challenging.
The data in this study can assist marketers with constructing more effective Instagram carousel posts.
Also – is it really necessary to tell folks to swipe left?
Here are some of the key findings.
Instagram Carousels At a GlanceInstagram carousels are growing in popularity.
In 2023, 3 to 4% of Instagram content consisted of carousel posts, compared to 19% in July 2023.
Carousels have an average engagement rate per post of 1.92%, compared to 1.74% for images and 1.45% for videos.
The engagement rate per post goes over 2% when all 10 carousel slides are used.
However, most carousels have between 2 to 4 slides.
Only 6% of carousels are maxed out at 10 slides.
Related: How Instagram’s Reels Algorithm Works
Does the number of slides correlate with engagement?Out of the nearly 3 million carousels studied, it was found those with 10 slides generate the highest engagement rate.
Engagement drops off after three slides, though interestingly picks up again at 8 slides and above.
According to the data – if you’re going to post a carousel with more than 3 slides, you might as well go all out and make it 8-10.
Is it okay to mix images and videos in a carousel?A combination of images and videos in the same carousel is found to generate the highest engagement rate per post (2.33%).
Carousels with mixed content are severely under-utilized, with only 7% of carousels containing both images and videos.
In comparison, 88% of carousels contain only images and 4% contain only videos.
So mixed content carousels seem to be a lesser known tactic marketers can use to increase engagement on Instagram.
Even carousels with only videos are found to produce a slightly higher engagement rate than images alone (1.86% vs 1.80%).
All data so far points to mixed content carousels being the most effective at generating engagement.
So the next time you’re posting a carousel to Instagram try to include at least one video.

Telling People to “Swipe Left” on Instagram CarouselsIs it redundant to tell people “swipe left” on a carousel? Or does it actually help?
According to the study, carousels with messages that encourage users to swipe left really do perform better.
Telling people to swipe left on a carousel can bring the average engagement rate from 1.83% to 2%.
This is another under-utilized tactic, as only 5% of carousels contain “swipe left” messaging.

Zelda Breath Of The Wild 2 Release Date – Breath Of The Wild 2
Zelda Breath of the wild 2 Release Date – Breath of the Wild 2
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 Release Date and Speculations
The latest from the Zelda BOTW 2 release is the appearance of several retailer placeholder pages on Amazon US, Amazon UK, and Argos in the UK.
One of the most anticipated Switch games for a very long time. Players are foaming at the mouth in excitement to play Zelda Breath of the Wild 2. It’s not often that Legend of Zelda games get direct sequels. So when players found out that one of their most favourite Zelda games will be getting a Switch sequel. Well, needless to say there was a wave of joy across the Zelda fandom.
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild was critically acclaimed, in fact many players bought the Switch solely to play the game. Thus, it’s no surprise just how excited players and critics are to get their hands on Zelda BOTW 2.
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 doesn’t have an official release date just yet. But the recent Nintendo Direct at least narrowed it down somewhat.
According to various rumours and expectations, people are starting to think that Breath of the Wild 2 will see a Fall 2023 release. At the very least this has narrowed down the window of release from 2023 to a more precise time.
Zelda BOTW 2 Rumours and Theories
We’re quite certain that the official title won’t be Breath of the Wild 2. The Zelda series tends to have unique titles, not ‘direct sequel’ names (Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask are a prime example). Although, it’s worth noting that the title hasn’t been released because, Nintendo Treehouse’s Bill Trinen, said that it contains clues and possible spoilers to the story. Exciting though, right? But in the meantime, we’ll just call it BOTW 2.
However, when it comes to story, who knows what’s going on! There’s been some popular theories circulating the web
Time Travel. The music at the start of the 2023 BotW 2 trailer sounds reversed, which led some to believe that this is a clue; perhaps the BotW 2 story starts by going back in time. Not to mention, the game series haven’t been averse to time travel plots.
The two Links. This theory is strengthened by the 2023 BotW 2 trailer, as we see Link in the ‘normal’ Hyrule wearing his traditional clothing and hairstyle, while Link in the floating island realm is wearing a new set of clothes and loose hair. Did he just change his look, or is floating island Link actually Link from the past?
Secret Zelda. Again, floating island Link could not be Link at all. The loose hair is not too long, and we already saw Zelda with shorter loose hair in the 2023 trailer. It’s not unlikely that BotW 2 will feature both Link and Zelda as playable characters.
Whatever happens, we’re certain it’ll be absolutely phenomenal. We’ll update you all as we go along. Can’t wait!
The Holiday Season Can Be Deadly For Hospital Patients
Everyone’s a little more lax during the holidays. For most of us, that just means gaining a little weight or slacking off a bit in the office. But it turns out being less regimented around Christmas and New Year’s might literally be deadly for some people.
This shouldn’t really come as a shock to any of us. It’s a well-documented fact that patients admitted to the hospital on a weekend have a higher mortality rate than those whose emergencies happen to fall on a weekday, which experts have attributed to understaffing and delayed test results. A group of doctors and researchers in Toronto wondered if a similar phenomenon might apply to the holiday season.
A brief editorial note that this particular study is in the annual British Medical Journal Christmas issue, a special volume dedicated to weird, funny, or seasonal studies. They’re all still peer-reviewed and held up to scrutiny, but they’re also supposed to be more like intriguing little experiments than serious papers. And now we continue…
There are lots of reasons that the holiday season might bring more death and havoc than usual. For starters, most of us don’t want to spend these special days sitting in doctors’ offices. People who are discharged from the hospital are often supposed to have a follow-up appointment both to ask about any issues and so the physician can ensure the patient is improving. If you’re let out on December 23 and you’re supposed to come back in a week, are you really going to schedule your appointment right before New Year’s Eve? You’ll probably delay it. Maybe the staffer who was supposed to call to schedule it won’t even get around to contacting you until later than normal. On an individual level, these little delays probably won’t matter—this study is not proof that someone who gets sick or hurt on Christmas will definitely fare worse than at other times of year. But as these researchers found out, these minute differences do add up across a population.
In their study, they found that for every 100,000 people treated during the two-week holiday season that spans Christmas and New Years, there are approximately 23 deaths, 188 re-hospitalizations, and 483 ER visits that can be chalked up to what they call the “Christmas effect.” They figured this out by analyzing data collected from Ontario hospitals between 2002 and 2023, comparing the holiday season to other two-week periods in November and January that weren’t plagued by Christmas cheer. The people released at the end of December were more likely to die or to be readmitted to the hospital in the month following their discharge. Their increased risk was only about 14 percent—but again, that small percentage adds up.
The researchers speculate about a number of reasons that holiday festivities might interfere with health. Patients might have less access to non-emergency care, for one, or they might have trouble actually booking an appointment with the necessary physician—they take time off too, you know. And if the meeting is inconvenient for the doctor or the patient (or both), that appointment is likely to get pushed back, perhaps long enough for a problem to arise. On top of all this, patients might not get the best care as they leave the hospital in the first place. Nurses in charge of giving instructions on how and when to take medication or teaching a patient how to dress a wound may slip up when they’re short-staffed and pressed for time.
As much as we’d like to believe that the people in charge of our care—ourselves included—will always do their absolute best job, we’re all human. Every healthcare worker has made a mistake, just like every one of us has failed to get to the dentist early or been late with our annual physical. Life happens. And when circumstances stack up to affect thousands or millions of patients, like during the holidays or on the day when new doctors begin their jobs, there’s probably going to be a slight downturn in care. Heck, we even see a health effect from entire countries missing an hour of sleep during daylight savings.
None of it is a reason to freak out. It’s just a timely reminder to be vigilant about your health. No one is going to care more about your body and its well-being than you are—so make sure it’s taken care of.
