Suggested January 2024 Prizmo 5 Scanning App For Iphone And Ipad

My efforts are not to compare Prizmo with other apps or the stock features Apple offers. There is some uniqueness in Prizmo that quickly gets noticed by users. It is faster than Notes and Files; I get better results when I scanned a business card and a document. And there is a text reading feature, which can read and speak the text you write or paste in the app. Check this detailed review of Prizmo 5 and pass your judgment.

Scanning App For iPhone and iPad Fast Scanning

While Notes and Files apps boast this scanning feature, they are not as fast as Prizmo. The app immediately identifies the object lying on your desk; for fun, you can try scanning a credit or debit card. You won’t be able to scan that as Prizmo recognizes your plastic money.

If you are not happy with the scan results, you can go for a retake. The entire process of scanning takes only three steps. Prizmo has achieved this feat in its fifth version; earlier, Creaceed had been attempting to add refinements to the scan process. Now, it seems the developer has got success in reducing the time to scan documents.

What do you want to do with a scanned copy?

Prizmo gives you an impressive suite of edit tools. Apart from common cropping, you can export the scanned copy as PDF and DOCX. This enables you to search your scanned documents later when you have a pile of copies in the app.

Among other notable tools are flatten adjustments, format, and others. You can set your copy the way you wish. Adjustments are an agreeable tool as it can remove the flashes of lights or natural light from the copy. Once you edit the scanned copy, you can export it as Text, PDF, Doc, etc.

How is it better than iPhone’s own Notes and Files scanning?

A distinguishing feature of Prizmo is speed; unlike the Notes app, which takes time to measure the dimensions of an object, Prizmo does it faster. Next, Prizmo allows you more tools to edit the scanned documents. The adjustment feature in Prizmo is undoubtedly better than Notes and Files apps.

The formats are divided into two sections: DOCUMENT & IMAGE. You can export your scanned copy as vCard, PDF, Word Document, Text Document, and Prizmo Document. Moreover, you can also export a scanned copy as JPEG and PNG image.

If you have scanned a business card, you can use Actions to place a call and send an email directly. Prizmo automatically identifies phone numbers and email addresses printed on a card; when you tap on Actions, you actually land on Smart Actions screen, from where you can send an email or call the person. This feature is usually found in all business card reader apps; Prizmo has integrated this feature in its scanning app.

Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

The penultimate feature in this review is optical character recognition (OCR.) Once you scan a document, you can copy the entire text and paste it somewhere else. Open the scanned document and tap on Text button from the top. Then tap on Recognize Text button; the app will show entire text below the image, i.e., scanned copy.

From the OCRed text, you can select it and paste it anywhere in your iOS device. A step further, you can listen to the text by tapping on Reader option from the bottom menu.

Prizmo supports 28 languages; powered by machine learning, the scanner app can read out your typed texts in several languages. For the English language, machine learning can also identify handwritten documents.

On the very first screen of this app, you will find the TEXT READER option. Tap on the option, and you can paste or type text and then hit the play button; the app will read out your text. You can control the speed of the speech and also change the voices. If you are getting the idea of using Prizmo to create an audiobook, let me tell you: the app does not save recordings.

What’s more?

It’s a feature-rich app! Explore it and you can’t help but appreciate Prizmo 5. You get high-quality, scanned images of documents, which can be printed later on. Save your data on iCloud and access them from anywhere. Prizmo is your pocket scanner, allowing you to scan documents anywhere.

That’s all, folks!

5 Best Ways To Fix Messages App Crashing On Iphone And Ipad

In more ways than one, the Apple Messages app is the gold standard for messaging. Whether it’s a huge library of features or the ability to deliver a seamless and secure messaging experience across iDevices, it’s got you covered. But that does not mean the messaging app is flawless and never runs into any annoying issues.

One of the problems that many users often complain about is the random crashing. If you suddenly find yourself on the wrong end of this problem and are looking for ways to get rid of it, try out these 5 viable tips to fix Messages app crashing on iPhone and iPad.

5 Ways to Fix Messages App Crashing on iPhone and iPad

So, why does the stock messaging app tend to crash? The random crashing of the messages app can be attributed to several things including software glitches and hidden bugs could be blamed for the crashing issue.

Besides, the ill-functioning server could also be very much in the play. In this guide, we are going to look at the problem from all aspects and try workable tips accordingly.

1. Force Quit the Messages App

Believe it or not, I have fixed the ill-functioning messaging app by force-killing it on many occasions. Considering how effective it is, I would suggest you give it a go first up.

On iPhone and iPad without the Home Button: Swipe up from the home bar and hold along the middle of the screen when the app switcher shows up.

On iPhone and iPad with the Home Button: Double-press the Home Button to bring up the app switcher.

Then, find the Messages app card and swipe up to kill it. After that, open the Message app and use it for some time to figure out if you have gotten the better of the crashing problem.

2. Hard Reset Your iPhone

If the Messages app continues to crash on your iOS device, I would recommend you force reset the device. Knowing how effective force reset is in terms of fixing common iOS 16 issues, you should not give it a miss.

On iPhone and iPad without the home button: Press and quickly release the volume up button. Then, press and quickly release the volume down button. After that, hold down the side/top button until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

On iPhone 7/7 Plus: Make sure to hold down the side button and the volume down button at once until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

On iPhone 6s or earlier and iPad with the Home Button: Hold down the Home button and the side/top button until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

3. Turn OFF/ON iMessage

Many a time, you can fix the iMessage by just turning it off/on. Hence, be sure to bring this nifty but workable tip into play as well.

After that, turn off the toggle for iMessage.

Then, restart your iPhone. Once your iPhone has rebooted, head over to the iMessage setting and turn it on.

Next, open the Messages app to check if the problem is gone. If it has, enjoy the blue bubble!

4. Ensure That iMessage is Not Facing Any Outage

Another important thing that you should do without fail is to ensure that iMessage is not facing any outage.

Go to Apple’s System Status page and make sure that the circle next to iMessage is green.

If the circle for iMessage is orange, you can’t do anything but wait for Apple to fix the iMessage issue.

No solution as yet? No worries! As stated above, the iMessage crashing issue could also be due to a software bug which could be resolved by updating the software. Since most iOS updates come bundled with plenty of improvements and bug fixes, there is a good chance it would resolve the problem.

Once your device has checked for the available software update, you will get the option to download and install it.

Fixed the iMessage Crashing Issue on iPhone and iPad

And that’s about! I assume your iMessaging is finally back on track. Now, go ahead and relish messaging to your heart’s liking. But before you get into a long conversation spree, do not forget to share your feedback and the solution that has helped you troubleshoot the stock messaging app.

5 Pro Tips For Using Calculator App In Iphone – Webnots

Related: Calculator app keyboard shortcuts in Windows PC.

iPhone Calculator App

If you have too many apps on your phone, simply swipe down on the home screen. You will see a search box appears on the top section of the screen, type “calculator”. This will show the Calculator app and tap on it to open quickly.

Open Calculator App

If this is your frequently used app, then simply drag and drop in the bottom dock section. You can avoid searching the app every time and launch it from the dock as the apps in the dock are visible across home screens.

Pro Tips for Using Calculator App in iPhone

The calculator app will look basic when you open it. You may get frustrated when you want to delete wrongly entered numbers. However, understanding how to use the app properly will help to get the maximum out of app.

1. Scientific Mode

Calculator by default do the basic arithmetic calculations in correct order. For example, when you type 6 + 2 * 3 and press = it will show the correct result as 12. It calculates the multiplication first and then addition like 6 + (2*3) = 12 instead of (6+2) * 3 = 24. However, this intelligence is not sufficient to do scientific calculations like 10X or square root. Simply rotate your iPhone to change the Calculator app to landscape mode. Now the same app will show a scientific calculator with plenty of default functions.

Scientific Calculator View

2. Clear Display

As mentioned, one of the annoying things with mobile calculator is deleting the numbers when you have wrong input in-between the calculations. Similar to physical calculator, iPhone Calculator app offers two ways to delete a number.

AC – All Clear or cancel all is the option to erase all your inputs including the result of any previous calculation.

C – clear or cancel will erase only the last input, hence you can use this in-between calculation to delete your mistake while keeping the result till previous step. You will see the AC button changes to C when you start typing.

3. Swipe to Delete Last Digit

Though C and AC are useful, you can’t use them to delete any particular digit in a number. For example, you want to enter 12345678 but wrongly entered 12345679. It will be annoying to press C and type starting from the beginning. This is the most annoying problem with many mobile calculator apps and fortunately iPhone has a simple swipe solution for you. You can simply swipe left or right on the number to delete the last digit.

4. Ask Siri

This is a cool feature that you can ask Siri to get a result for your mathematical calculations. Here are some examples, that you can ask after “Hey Siri”:

What is 7.5% of 985?

What is 9 times 115?

You will get 73.875 and 1,035 respectively for the above questions. Remember, Siri will use the Calculator app only for basic calculations. If you ask, “What is the cube root of 27?” it will show you the web results instead of Calculator app result.

Siri Calculator Results

5. Copy and Paste Result

The last tip is to copy the result of your calculation. You may probably want to paste the resulted number in your Messages or Mail app for sending to someone. Simply tap on the number in Calculator app to see a pop-up with multiple options. The options in the pop-up will change depending upon the action you are trying to do.

Copy Paste Number

Here are the possible actions you can do:

Select Language for Speaking

Spell – this will read each digit of the number louder in English. For example, 35 will be spelled as three five while speaking will read it as thirty five in the selected language

What Is Offload App And How To Use It On Iphone, Ipad

Seeing the Storage Almost Full alert on your iPhone? In these situations, Offload App is a handy solution to manage space. You can use it automatically or manually to free up local iPhone storage. This tutorial will teach you what app offloading is, how to enable it, and how to re-download offloaded apps.

What is Offload App on iPhone and iPad?

In the earlier days of iOS, you had two options for an app: you either kept it on your iPhone or you deleted it. If you kept it, the app and its data continued to occupy local storage. If you deleted the app, the app itself and all its local data was gone.

In iOS 11, Apple introduced the option to offload apps. This is somewhat of a middle ground between keeping and deleting an app.

When you offload an app, the app itself is deleted, which clears local storage. But the app documents and data are still saved locally on your iPhone. Once you reinstall the offloaded app, you can keep using it like before as the app data is still saved. In other words: As opposed to deleting an app, which nukes its binary and data out of orbit, offloading ensures that app data, along with user settings and documents, remain on your device.

Given the increasing app sizes, it is sensible to offload apps to keep local iPhone storage unoccupied. And thanks to the availability of Wi-Fi pr cellular, downloading an app is quick and easy.

So, whether you have a 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB iPhone, or one that’s full, offloading apps is a great way to optimize storage. You can do it manually or have your iPhone offload apps automatically.

How to manually offload apps on iPhone and iPad

Open Settings and tap General.

Tap iPhone Storage and give it a while to load.

From the list of apps, tap the app you want to offload.

Tap Offload App and confirm.

Can I offload all apps?

You can offload all third-party apps you downloaded from the App Store and several Apple apps like TV, Music, Mail, Files, Maps, Books, Reminders, Podcasts, Contacts, Calendar, Shortcuts, Measure, Home, Compass, Stocks, FaceTime, Tips, iTunes Store, Translate, Calculator, Weather, Voice Memos, Notes, Magnifier, and all other Apple apps like iMovie, Numbers, Pages, Keynote, Apple Support, Apple Store.

You cannot offload or delete Photos, Phone, Safari, Wallet, Messages, and Health apps.

One interesting thing to note is that if you have an Apple Watch paired with your iPhone, you cannot delete or offload the Watch and Fitness apps. But if you don’t have an Apple Watch paired, you can offload or delete the iOS Watch app.

If you offload or delete the FaceTime app, you can continue to make FaceTime calls from the Phone or Contacts app.

How to automatically offload apps on iPhone and iPad

Manually finding and offloading apps can be a chore. If you struggle to keep local space free, you can let your iPhone offload apps automatically to optimize storage. Once you enable it, your iPhone will automatically offload apps that you have not used in a while.

Here’s how to set automatic offloading of apps on iPhone and iPad:

Open Settings and tap General.

Tap iPhone Storage.

Under Recommendations, tap Enable next to Offload Unused Apps.

Caution: Some people enable this, forget about it, and then worry as they have to re-download the app again.

How to re-download an offloaded app

Even after you offload an app, its app icon stays on the Home Screen and App Library. You’ll see a download arrow before the app name, which signifies that this app is offloaded. Tap the app icon to download it again. As mentioned, the app data is still on the device.

Finally, you can also search for the app in the App Store and tap the download button.

Rype Go App For Iphone

You may have tried learning a new language as part of your hobby, or maybe it was the demand of the situation. Whatever may be the case, learning a new language isn’t easy, and you may have experienced it already. On top of that, the working professionals do not get enough time to learn from a professional tutor.

There are many language learning apps on the App Store that promises to teach you a new language within a couple of months. You may have tried some already and realized that none of them help. The core reason why these apps fail is that they try to teach a language by flashcards, images, or videos. You cannot learn a language by reading or watching it; you need to interact with a living person to learn the language.

Rype Go aims to target this limitation with its app for the iPhone. Unlike many other language learning apps, Rype Go has an innovative approach towards learning, and if you wish to grasp the new language quickly, read here how to do it.

Rype Go Language Learning iPhone App Review

One of the best things I liked about Rype Go is that they have designed the language learning experience from the ground up. Most of the content available on the internet is either outdated or boring. To overcome this, Rype Go uses three steps of learning: Watch, Speak, and Chat.

If you noticed that there is no grammar, no mugging the vocabulary, or any typical language learning mechanism, Rype Go takes you directly to interaction by watching the videos. Science has proved that the human brain learns faster with visualized content. Let’s dive in a little deeper and understand all three strategies in detail.

Learn by Watching videos

To start with, let me tell you that these are not random language learning videos created just like that. There are 250+ carefully produced videos that help in learning the language quickly and to the point. Besides, all videos have a 4K resolution that you can watch on bigger screens as well.

Now coming to the content of these videos, they are interactive, informative, and engaging. None of the videos has a typical tutor lecture that bores you after a certain amount of time. As mentioned earlier, professionals have a tight schedule to learn new things. Keeping that in mind, the videos are sized hardly at 5-minutes.

Once you finish watching a video, you can practice what you learned by speaking. Let’s understand how speaking works with the Rype Go app.

Speak and learn

It’s human nature that we are afraid of people judging us all the time. Especially when learning something new, people tend to be a bit nervous. To eliminate this, Rype Go has developed an AI-based speech recognition module that tests your speaking abilities.

You can practice speaking after watching a video, and the virtual teacher will test your skills in real-time. As there is no human intervention, you can be sure that you aren’t judged. This will create a positive mindset and help you learn the language faster compared to speaking in front of a human.

No matter how smart the virtual teacher is, we will need to interact with people at some point in time. Once you are confident that you have mastered the lessons, you can move to the last and final step, i.e. Chatting. Let’s see how it works.

Chat and learn

In the final step, you can book an appointment with professional teachers and have a 1-on-1 live session. These sessions are of 30-minutes, and you can book an appointment anytime. When I say anytime, I mean 24/7, 365 days. Whether it is a weekend or midnight, there are professional tutors at your help anytime.

These live sessions focus on polishing what you have learned so far and receive feedback from the professionals. When an expert tells you that you have made good progress, it will boost your confidence. That confidence works as a motivation to learn further and master the language. There are many other features of the app; let’s check them out below.

Other features

One of the best things that I noticed about the app is that it doesn’t teach you spellings, grammar, or vocabulary. Frankly, we don’t generally focus on any of them when interacting on the phone, having a friendly conversation at a party, or asking someone out.

Rype Go does precisely that. It prepares you to start a conversation with anyone in the real world. The learning topics include – expressing your feelings, ordering at restaurants, phone conversations, small talk at parties, etc.

Also, there are many other topics like chatting with your rideshare driver, Airbnb host communication, making a respectful complaint, buying transportation tickets, and going to the pharmacy.

As you can see, all the topics included in your learning are used in day-to-day life. Another thing to note is that no app or tutor can teach you everything. The human brain learns much more from the first-hand experience. So once you are good at regular interactions with people, you’ll further learn and start speaking like a native person.

Pricing

Rype Go is a Kickstarter campaign, and like every campaign, there are different perks with different prices. You can choose the one that suits your requirement. Below is the link to the campaign page.

That’s all there is to it!

Wrapping up…

There are many ways to learn new things. One strategy may work for a few people, while for others, there’s a different strategy to get the task done. There’s no universal process to learn the language. In the end, it comes down to your passion, but apps like Rype Go travels an extra mile to make sure that they keep the fire burning inside you while leaning.

Did you learn any new language in the recent past? If yes, how did you learn it? Comment below and help fellow users.
