Suggested March 2024 How To Share Photos And Videos From Camera To Shared Library On Iphone

iOS 16 introduces a neat little way to share pictures and videos with your friends and family using iCloud Shared Photo Library. When you use this feature, you and other participants can host pictures from a specific date or those with specific people inside a Shared Library where everyone can view, add, and edit content in one place.

While you can transfer any of your existing pictures and videos to the Shared Library, Apple also makes this experience easier by allowing you to transfer pictures you capture directly from the Camera app to the Shared Library. In this post, we’ll help you enable this option for your iOS Camera app and explain how you can capture pictures and videos directly to the Shared Library on iOS 16.

How to enable Shared Library for iOS Camera

Required version: iOS 16 update

In order to share pictures to Shared Library directly from your camera, you need to set up Shared Library first on your iPhone (on iOS 16) and then have Sharing from Camera option enabled inside your Shared Library. If you don’t enable this feature inside your iPhone settings, the Shared Library option won’t show up inside the Camera app.

To enable Sharing from Camera, open the Settings app.

Inside Settings, select Photos.

On the next screen, tap on Shared Library under “Library”.

With Shared Library already turned on, tap on Sharing from Camera from the Shared Library screen.

On the next screen, turn on the Sharing from Camera toggle at the top.

When you enable this, you’ll get additional options to configure this feature. To ensure you only share pictures to the Shared Library on your own from the Camera app, select Share Manually. If you choose Share Automatically, iOS will add the pictures you capture from the Camera automatically whenever it detects you’re with the chosen participants via Bluetooth.

Once you’ve configured the Sharing from Camera option, you can proceed to the next section to capture photos and send them to the Shared Library.

How to share photos and videos to Shared Library directly from Camera

To save photos from your camera to shared library, all you need to do is enable the sharing within camera settings on your iPhone. Here’s how to do it.

Open the Camera app on your iPhone.

Inside the Camera app, tap on the multi-user icon (struck diagonally to indicate that it’s disabled for now) at the top left corner. This will enable the Shared Library mode in the camera app.

Once enabled, the icon will have a yellow background, meaning it is turned on. You will also see the “Shared Library” banner at the top that tells you that any pictures and videos you capture now will be sent saved in the Shared Library, too.

That’s all. With the Shared Library mode enabled, you can start capturing pictures by tapping on the Shutter button as they will be saved with your shared libraries as applicable.

This will also work when recording videos, slow-mo shots, portraits, and panorama pictures.

How to turn off Shared Library when taking pictures

If you’ve been taking pictures to the Shared Library from Camera, you can stop sending your captured content to the Shared Library at any time.

To turn off Shared Library mode inside Camera, open the Camera app on iOS.

When the Camera opens, tap on the multi-user icon at the top left corner.

This will unhighlight this icon and you’ll see a “Personal Library” banner at the top of the screen.

All pictures and videos you capture now will be saved to your Personal Library inside Photos and won’t be shared automatically with participants in your Shared Library.

How to view photos and videos in Shared Library

You can see what photos and videos you have shared with participants in your Shared Library from the Photos app. To check what has been shared until now, launch the Photos app on your iPhone.

Inside Photos, tap on the 3-dots icon at the top right corner. If you’re currently in your Personal Library, you’ll need to tap on the single-user icon instead.

In the overflow menu that appears, select Shared Library.

You’ll now see all the pictures you have shared with others in the Shared Library. You’ll also see the Shared Library icon at the top right corner instead of the 3-dots icon.

That’s all you need to know about capturing photos to Shared Library from Camera on iOS 16.

Thanks to the device’s stellar camera system, you will probably come across lots of share-worthy photos and videos if you use an iPhone. How iCloud Photo Sharing Works

If you have a bunch of photos and videos on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac you want to share with friends and family, the best way to do that is to use the Photos app’s Shared Albums feature. You can quickly set up a shared iCloud album, add the items you want, and invite the people you want to share them with.

However, before you start, here are a few things to keep in mind:

Shared albums don’t consume your iCloud storage quota.

Shared albums support all popular photo and video file types, including special formats such as Live Photos and slow-mo video clips.

You can delete photos from your library, and they will remain in your shared album.

Subscribers can save photos and videos to their iCloud Photo Library or device.

You can change a shared album’s preferences, remove subscribers, or delete the entire album anytime.

Additionally, shared albums have the following limitations:

A shared album can only have a maximum of 5,000 photos.

A shared album can only have a maximum of 100 subscribers.

Photos are downscaled to a width of 2048 pixels. However, panoramic photos can be 5400 pixels wide.

How To Take Timed Photos With Iphone 11 & Iphone 11 Pro Camera App

Want to know how to take timed photos on the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max? You’re in the right place.

Apple’s latest and greatest iPhone models are equipped with an all-new double camera or triple camera system that comes with a slew of new features. However, the Cupertino-based company didn’t call it a day just because they introduced cutting edge hardware. They have earned quite a reputation for perfecting new features and how their software works seamlessly with the hardware. In order to accommodate all the new features that the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro Max, and iPhone 11 Pro cameras had to offer, Apple redesigned their Camera app from the ground up. The new camera UI is fairly different compared to what people may be used to seeing on prior iPhones. This could confuse some iOS users who’ve upgraded to the latest iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, and you might not be sure where to find certain camera functions, like the self timer, that used to be more easily accessible on prior iPhone models.

The Camera Timer is one of those existing features that’s now buried deeper within the Camera app. Well, if you’re one of those people struggling to find the timer, you’ve come to the right place.

In this article, we’ll be discussing how to take timed photos with iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro Max, and iPhone 11 Pro. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at the necessary steps.

How to Take Timed Photos on iPhone 11 with Camera App

Regardless of whether you’re using an iPhone 11 with a dual camera setup or an iPhone 11 Pro with a triple camera system, the steps are identical as they both feature the same redesigned Camera app.

Open the default Camera app and tap on the chevron icon indicated by “^” right at the top of the screen.

Now, you’ll see a bunch of new icons pop up at the bottom. If you didn’t notice already, the good old timer function that you’ve been missing is the second option from the left, right next to filters. Simply tap on the Timer icon, as shown in the screenshot below.

Here, you’ll be able to choose either 3 or 10 seconds for the timer. Just tap on whatever option you prefer to enable it.

As you can see in this screenshot below, once you’ve chosen a set timer, the timer icon will be highlighted. Once done, you will also be able to quickly toggle between 3 and 10 seconds by tapping on the set timer icon located at the top of the screen, right next to the chevron.

That’s pretty much all you need to do to take timed photos on your new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, or iPhone 11 Pro Max with the default Camera app.

The timer camera feature is pretty handy if you want to take a group selfie, or a snap a picture of yourself using the more powerful rear camera without having to bother anyone. It takes two additional taps on the latest iPhones camera app and thus it’s easy to overlook this handy feature, but despite that change now other new features like Night mode and QuickTake video are more prominent at the main screen of the iPhone. Nonetheless the existing camera functions still exist, they’re just tucked a bit behind other options in the new camera app for the latest iPhones.

The iPhone has had the self timer camera feature for quite some time, so even if you don’t have the iPhone 11 series, you can still use the self timer on other iPhone models as shown here, and if your iPhone is nearing antique status and doesn’t even have the feature built in then you can rely on third party apps for the capability too.
