How To Move A File From Onedrive To Google Drive

Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace provide users with the easiest storage features. Microsoft 365 gives OneDrive and, Google Workspace provides Google Drive. Both these storage apps are cloud-based and work like document repositories.

OneDrive can be used by an organization centrally to share files and folders and work jointly on documents as required. It comes with the Microsoft Suite. Google Drive is a cloud-based software tool that allows users to store their data on personal Google Drive. As an end-user, you can also share files with other users and work in real-time when required.

With cloud-based services providing various features to the users, there might come a time when a user or an organization will start using one cloud-based storage and decide to migrate to another for some reason. In case of a large amount of data, the process might be burdensome and, one must ensure that all data is migrated safely and securely between the two cloud services.

As a user, finding the perfect way to migrate content between OneDrive and Google Drive will ensure that it is done correctly in minimum effort. Hence, let us now look at different ways to migrate content between these cloud-based services.

How to move a file from OneDrive to Google Drive

There are various ways to transfer your data from OneDrive to Google Drive. They are as follows:

Download Data from OneDrive and Upload to Google Drive

Transfer files using the Drag and Drop method

Use third-party app or service

Transfer data using Google Drive built-in tool

Let us look at these methods in more detail.

1] Download Data from OneDrive and Upload to Google Drive

Go to OneDrive’s official website.

This option is useful if the number of files to be transferred is relatively less in number.

In case there are many files, this method has some flaws. The files will be downloaded in a compressed zip folder. You will have to decompress the files manually before upload which can be time-consuming.

Please check the upload status on Google Drive during file upload. A poor network can stop the process and, you may have to restart the process.

2] Transfer files using the Drag and Drop method

Set up OneDrive on your Windows desktop. A Windows user can find the OneDrive on their computer and log in.

Go to the browser and log in to your Google Drive account.

Choose the data that you need to move from OneDrive to Google Drive. You can now drag and drop these files/folders from OneDrive to Google Drive. Once the process is complete, a prompt displays the same to the user.

This method is user-friendly but, it is still time-consuming.

3] Use third-party app or service

Various third-party services assist you in centralizing your cloud content in one place. They also help in migrating content between cloud-based storage services easily. All you have to do is create an account at the respective third-party service, add each cloud-based storage service one after the other and then sync them. You can then easily manage and transfer files between these services easily and speedily. Please note that these services are not free but can save your time in this process. Some examples of such third-party app or services are:

Air Explorer

4] Transfer data using Google Drive built-in tool

If a user wants to transfer data from Google Drive, the most common way is to download and upload the files to their respective location. An additional method can be by using the sharing function of Google Drive to transfer files. It is done by using the below steps:

3] Enter the email address to share the specified file/folder. Once the designated email receives the invitation to see the file/folder, the data from Shared with me can be shifted to the My Drive section.

Bottom line

Finally, the user aims to transfer their data securely from one cloud-based storage service to another. We hope the above-mentioned instructions are useful. Do let us know in case of any questions.

How To Migrate A User Profile To Another New Windows Pc

On earlier Windows system versions, if you changed your computer and wished to migrate your user account to the new system, you’d do it with Windows Easy Transfer. However, Microsoft did away with Easy Transfer in Windows 10. Instead of Easy Transfer, we have free third-party tools that allow you to do this in Windows 11 or Windows 10. If you’re in this dilemma, you have nothing to worry about because I’ll show you how to move user accounts between computers easily.

How to copy User Profile to another Windows computer

We’ll discuss two of the best ways to migrate your user account for free. You can move user accounts in the following ways:

Convert to a Microsoft account.

Migrate user account using Transwiz (FREE).

The first method requires no additional software, while the second one does. Let’s get right to the steps for the above techniques.

1] Convert to a Microsoft account

The primary reason why Windows 10 has no Easy Transfer is that Microsoft is encouraging users to use Microsoft accounts. With a Microsoft account, you’ll have your user profile on any computer you log in to.

This doesn’t apply to local user accounts. If you use a local account, a quick way to migrate your account to a different PC is to convert it to a Microsoft account.

NOTE: Signing in to a different computer with a Microsoft account doesn’t bring your files and programs over. You can only access files saved in your OneDrive. Hence, you’d still require an external hard drive to transfer the rest of your stuff after migrating the account.

Related: How to move User Profile Data to another Drive in Windows

Choose this option and select the connected external hard drive. Select the folders you wish to restore and hit the green Restore button at the bottom of the screen.

TIP: User Profile Wizard lets you migrate the complete domain profile.

2] Migrate user account using Transwiz

If you’d prefer not to convert your account to a Microsoft account or not do it manually, you may consider using the free tool called Transwiz. This software helps you move accounts between computers one at a time.

With Transwiz, you’ll still need to have an external hard drive. To begin, download and install the application on both computers. You’d also need two admin accounts on the old computer because Transwiz can’t migrate a user account who’s logged in.

After that, select the external hard drive where you wish to save your data. If it’s password-protected, input the password. If it isn’t, you can ignore the password fields. Hit Ok to confirm the operation.

On confirmation, Transferwiz will create a zip archive on the selected external hard drive and copy your data into the folder. When the transfer is finished, disconnect the external hard drive and plug it into the new computer.

Launch Transwiz on the new computer and select the option to restore your data. Pick the connected external hard drive and locate the zip file on which the program saved your data.

Give Transwiz some time to process and carry out the transfer.

Finally, restart the computer to complete the profile creation.

The tool migrates your user account to the destination machine. However, your data isn’t moved. So, you’ll have to transfer your data manually from the zip folder to your new computer.

TIP: Apart from Transwiz, you also have free third-party tools like PCmover or PCtransfer that can help you do this.

PS: Some other Windows Migration Tools you might want to take a look at.

Move The Itunes Library To A Different Location

Moving your iTunes music library to another location or machine is really easy to do because Apple has made iTunes store and maintain all of your music in one central location. Thus, that directory is fairly transportable, and if need be it can be relocated to a different location with relative ease.

Unless you have changed it has been changed to something else, iTunes music is by default stored in a Mac users home directory located at ~/Music/iTunes/ and that is the basis of what we’ll use to relocate, moving the library elsewhere.

Moving the iTunes Music Library to Another Location

Using this method you can move your entire iTunes Music library to anywhere, be it another folder, location, user directory, machine, drive, etc.

The first thing you’ll want to do is locate your iTunes music library, as mentioned earlier this is located in your home directories Music folder, at ~/Music/iTunes

Next, navigate to and move or copy that entire ~/Music/iTunes folder to the new desired location. Moving to folder to another location on the same drive is quick, while copying it elsewhere may take a while depending on how large your music library is.

Launch iTunes when that process is complete, then enter the Preferences by going through the iTunes menu and selecting it

It is important that you set the location within iTunes so that the app knows where to look for your music.

Easy enough right? This is easy to do for migrating music between user accounts and other folders or locations on drives, but if you’re looking to relocate an iTunes collection to another external drive, use these directions instead. Likewise, if you are actually migrating an iTunes collection froma PC to a Mac (or vice versa) you would want to follow these specific instructions. The processes will be familiar, but there are a few extra critical steps to insure everything works as expected in both of those unique cases.

How do you move the iTunes library to a new Mac so that it is the main machine for my iPod/iPhone?

This is slightly off the primary topic, but it’s worth mentioning. The iTunes music directory stores all of your iPhone, iPod, and iPad ownership data as well, thus, moving this directory also moves ownership in that sense. Accordingly, you could manually change the primary Mac an iOS device relates to by moving the iTunes Library folder. This is achieved in practically the exact same way as the method above, you just need to connect the two Mac’s together either through a network or through something like firewire target disk mode (obviously this only works on Mac’s with firewire support). If you’re lucky enough to have both of your Mac’s with Firewire support, then hook a firewire cable between the two, and reboot one of them holding down T to place it into Target Disk Mode. When the machine boots it will act as an external hard disk on the other Mac, so you can easily and very quickly copy the contents of your ~/Music/ folder to the desired location.

Note that the above methods work all more or less the same with Windows PC’s as well, except that the /Music/iTunes directory is usually located in ‘My Documents’ or “Documents and Settings” but you can transfer it to a Mac (or vice versa) or PC just the same.

How To Stream With One Monitor (Beginner’s Guide)

Streaming your content on the internet has become more popular nowadays. One of the main reasons for its growing popularity is the fact that streamers and viewers can interact with one another mid-stream.

However, managing the stream along with its various features and settings can sure feel a bit overwhelming, and much so if you are doing it through a single monitor.

Streamers usually prefer setting up multiple monitors as that extra screen canvas does make the job a lot easier. Nevertheless, there is no limit on how many monitors you choose for the streaming purpose.

Although a single-screen stream setup makes it somewhat harder for you to manage your chats, notifications, and whatnot, it is still possible to achieve this feat efficiently.

So, if you are an up-and-coming streamer or even if you are not new to the game, this guide shall help make the most out of your single monitor whilst the stream cam is on. So, before we waste any more time, let’s begin!

Is It Possible to Stream With One Monitor?

To put it simply, it is possible to stream using only one monitor. However, the experience of doing so is comparatively worse than streaming with multiple screens.

You as a streamer mainly need to manage your stream, the chatbox, and the in-app settings when you go live. Switching between windows to check your stream status is impossible and unprofessional. It breaks the engagement with the viewers while making the content feel clunky and mismanaged.

However, there are various hacks and workarounds you can follow to manage your single monitor streaming service a bit more efficiently.

How to Stream With One Monitor

The main difficulty while streaming with one monitor arises when you have to manage your stream status and read your viewers’ messages. So, that’s exactly what we are going to work on. Using the workarounds shown below, you can manage these things effectively to ultimately up to your game streaming.

Set Up Your Stream

Single screen streaming is a bit different than streaming via multiple monitors. So, the streaming application’s settings must be altered in a way that shall provide the most efficient output for a single monitor.

Hence, before we begin to understand how you can manage your stream on a single monitor, let’s skim past the ways to set up your stream on a single screen. So, we’ll use the OBS studio live streaming software as a reference. Here are the steps to set up your stream for a single monitor:

And voila! The stream has been set up and you are now ready to use some workarounds to make your single-screen streaming service more effective.

Use Other Devices as a Secondary Screen

A second monitor sure does help. But since it’s out of the question, you can make use of any other devices lying around the house.

Let’s take your phone for example. You can stream from your computer and also run your stream link to open the stream on your mobile phone. This way, you can use the mobile phone to read and reply to your viewers’ messages.

Additionally, through a secondary device, you can check the status of your stream and determine if it’s running well or not. Basically, stream as a first-person and view the status as a third person. So, you can use your laptop, mobile phone, or your tablet as a second screen.

Run Your Applications on Windowed Mode

Some games and applications allow you to run it in windowed mode. That is, without going full-screen, you can part your screen to run the application on one side and the chatbot/donation alerts on the other.

Keep in mind that this method doesn’t work with all applications and for the ones that do support this feature, it is a gamechanger. Although the chatbot might end up taking around a quarter of your screen space, you can still stream efficiently while staying active in your followers’ discussions.

So, run your application on windowed mode, pop out and resize the chatbox from your streaming platform, and screen record only the game window.

Turn on Your Notifications

Another way you can make your single-screen streaming job a lot easier is by turning on the notifications.

These popped-up alerts provide you with a good idea regarding where the chat is headed towards. You can then read and respond to the message via the notifications on the side of your screen. Here’s how you can turn on the app notifications on your computer.

For Windows

For Mac

Use Third-party Applications

There are various third-party applications available online that can help you easily manage your streams via a single monitor. The core idea is to overlay your chats, donations, and other required windows and adjust their opacities to be able to view them whilst the stream cam is on.

Although we never recommend using third-party applications, these applications sure do help. Out of infinite applications on the internet, we are going to talk briefly about a couple of them. Keep in mind that, from our research, we found these to be some of the best overlay applications available and none of them are our sponsorship deals.

The StreamLabs Games Overlay application helps you view your chats and events on your screen while the streamed application is running in the background. So, to make use of StreamLabs,

You can now use the shortcut keys assigned earlier to bring up the chat and event windows while streaming. Keep in mind that some games may not support this feature while streaming in full-screen mode.

OBS Studio

The OBS studio has a feature called ‘Popout chat’ that lets you view the chatbox while you are streaming from the same window. So, to set this feature,

How To Monitor Your Brand Through Conversational Research

Conversational research takes social listening to the next stage

Good social media marketing depends on how thorough the keyword research is. It is important to use the best keywords in context, and then monitor them to see how effective they are. Also, the strategy should also employ “social listening.” It is a way of getting real-time feedback relating to keywords to perfect the long-term marketing campaign.

The point of using the tactics mentioned above is to monitor your brand’s appeal and efficacy on social networks. Brand monitoring will help your company to gain a distinct leg up over the competition.

Now let’s look at how you can monitor your brand through a useful tactic called conversational research.

What is Conversational Research?

Most marketers are aware of social listening in social media marketing. Social listening is commonly used to gather valuable customer data. The problem is, as mentioned, this is a common tactic. When everyone uses it, it is difficult to stand out with promotional efforts.

This is where conversation research becomes necessary. This tactic is not commonly used, so will most likely help you reinvigorate your existing strategy with new and unique ideas.

Think of conversational research as social listening, but much deeper. Social listening monitors user opinions and sentiments associated with your brand. Conversational research, on the other hand, goes further to analyze the data collected so that a more proactive approach can be developed.

Rather than taking customer reviews and feedback at face value, conversational research helps you make sense of the data you have gathered. Data interpretation in this manner is critical for influencing how a brand is received.

For example, say you uncover some negative reviews for a product with social listening techniques. Your next step would normally be to address the negative reviews to reduce their effect on potential customers. However, this is merely a temporary remedy.

Wouldn’t it simply be better to uncover the cause of negative reviews and address that instead? You will, of course, save time and money in this manner. More importantly, you will be able to reduce the number of negative reviews in the long run.

Monitoring brands through conversational research can, therefore, help marketers unearth underlying problems in the promotional approach.

Here are several steps that you can follow to understand your brand performance better online:

Invest in a Social Listening Platform

Monitoring social media conversations and reviews manually can quickly become a hassle. Therefore, it is worthwhile to invest in a social network or brand monitoring platform like Mention.

The platform you buy will act as a solid foundation for your future conversational research efforts.

Purchasing a monitoring platform is not that expensive. Costs can be as low as $600 per month for the initial years. In comparison, you would have to spend tens of thousands of dollars for research projects to gather the same data.

The biggest perk of a social listening platform is that you will be able to monitor a significant sample of your target audience at low cost. You can gather data over time with large sample bases to refresh long-term social media marketing strategies.

When choosing a social listening platform, think about these points:

The platform you choose should offer real-time monitoring

You should be able to segment your audience according to factors such as age and location

The platform you choose should allow you to track the competition

It should be co-worker friendly and facilitate collaboration on projects

Ultimately, the platform should offer solid returns for the investment

Track Brand Mentions

When you have the real-time monitoring capability, you should be able to track brand mentions online. Then, segment or organize them into groups based on channels. Doing so will help you narrow down the amount of information collected.

Mention, the platform described above, helps users modify search results and filter data in this way.

For example, when you track and organize your brand mentions, you might be able to see that people in Georgia say your brand more than others. Granular data like this can help you polish your brand awareness strategy.

Know What the Competition is Doing

It is important to know what the competition is doing to raise their brand awareness. Knowing this will help you avoid doing the same thing and instead adopt unique techniques.

If the competition is doing something good, you can try to imitate the same thing, but not in an obvious way. If something is going well for a competitor, for example, their blog posts might have more social shares, you can similarly create more shareable blog posts as well.

You can use a tool like chúng tôi to track brand mentions of competitor’s to get insights into their strategy. Then you can make your strategy more reactive.

Focus on People, Not Keywords

Keyword research is limited. Rather than seeing which keywords led to brand mentions, analyze who is mentioning your brand.

It is ultimately the people who buy the product, not keywords. So, when you know who is mentioning your brand, you will be able to gather crucial insights into your target audience.

Use can use tools like Fanpage Karma and Followerwonk to collect information about people following or liking your brand or a competitor’s. Once you know who’s following you, you can then make lasting connections.

Brand mentoring is essential to increasing its long-term reach. While you can use social listening methods to gather data about brand mentions, it is more important to analyze this data. That is what conversational research helps you do.

Conversational research requires some amount of patience and ability to pay attention to detail. Even if doing those things is hard, conducting conversation research will help your brand stand out and attract better opportunities.
