Suggested March 2024 How To Draw On Canva (5 Easy Steps To Get Drawing!)

You might have been wondering if you can draw on Canva? Well, the answer is most definitely yes thanks to Canva’s Draw app.

In this article, we’ll take you through the simple steps to start drawing on Canva.

Let’s get to it.

Jump to a specific section:

Step 1: Add the Draw App

Adding the Canva draw app is very easy, here’s how:

Go to one of your existing Canva designs, or a blank canvas

Go to ‘More’ via the left side panel in the editor

Open the app so you can start using it for your designs

Adding the Canva draw app Canva draw app ready to be used

Step 2: Choose your drawing utensil

Canva currently has four different options for drawing utensils:

Pen tool

Marker tool

Glow pen tool

Highlighter tool

Drawing utensil options

Here’s how each of them looks in action:

How each drawing utensil looks in action

We particularly liked the glow pen as it is has a kind of neon glow effect, but they all look great. We also felt like Bart Simpson putting that graphic together.

Step 3: Choose your settings and get drawing

You can then choose your settings including the size of the stroke, the transparency, and the color:

Utensil settings

Once you’re happy with the settings you can start to draw on the canvas. Whether you’re using a drawing tablet, a mouse, or a touchpad you can scribble to your hearts content on the canvas.

Once you’re done scribbling you’ll need to press the ‘Done’ button at the left side of the top panel and that will make that drawing into an element.

Finishing your drawing

It’s worth noting that you can use the eraser function before pressing ‘Done’ if you want to make any changes to drawing before finalizing it.

Using the eraser

Also if you draw separate things in your drawing they will all become part of the same element once you press ‘Done’.

If you want to create multiple things that become their own element you’ll need to do drawings for each one:

One drawn element Separate drawn elements

Step 4: Add effects and animation

Once you’ve completed a drawing, it becomes a graphic element and can be customized in the same way that you could any other graphic element.

This means you can add effects and animation to it.

For example, you could add a ‘Glow’ shadow effect around a word that you drew:

Navigating to the ‘Edit image’ options

Adding the ‘Glow’ shadow effect

You can also add animation to your drawn elements.

We added the ‘Pop’ animation to our drawings and created the cheeky video:

Drawing with animation

Step 5: Copy drawn elements to other designs

You can also copy your drawn elements and paste them into some of your other designs:

Pasting it into another design

Design ideas using the draw app

You might be wondering how you can use the Canva draw app?

Here’s a couple of ideas for you.

Create an animation – you already saw our animation earlier in the article, the ‘Draw’ app can help you create some unique and cute animations

Logo – if you have a talent for drawing you might be able to create some quirky logo designs

Draw over photos – you can add little enhancements to photos to make them more engaging e.g.:

Drawn element overlayed on a photo

Wrapping things up

So, there you have it, that’s how you can quickly, and easily draw in Canva.

It’s super easy to set up, and it can help you create some nifty graphics.

How To Clear Chrome Cache On Mac In 6 Easy Steps

If you’ve been using Google Chrome daily, you might be aware of the storage that keeps piling up and taking up an exponential amount of space on your Mac. Clearing these files on a regular basis is essential for maintaining optimal browser performance and protecting privacy. This guide will walk you through the process of clearing Chrome cache, history, and cookies on your Mac. Let’s get started.

Importance of clearing cache, history, and cookies on Mac

However, before jumping into the process, it’s vital to be aware of the terms.

Cache: Every content that has been previously accessed, like web pages, images, and online streaming services, acts out as cache memory. This data is locally stored in your browser’s memory, thereby leading to slower performance.

History: It can be referenced as a logbook that keeps track of your activities. The record of your internet presence might come in handy for future preference but is extremely volatile too. Your browser history can reveal a ton of sensitive information and compromise privacy.

Cookies: Unlike its name, cookies are used to keep track of user behavior across multiple websites. It contains crucial information like login credentials, preferences, and much more. While cookies provide a personalized experience, they are equipped with tracking information.

You must realize that these files are temporary and will not affect your browsing experience. On the contrary, clearing this temporary data will reduce the risk of ID theft and keep cyber-attacks at bay.

How to delete cache, history, and cookies in Chrome on Mac

A small menu will appear on your screen, allowing you to completely remove Cache, History, and Cookies from your browser.

In a few seconds, your web browser will be cleared of every piece of information ever stored in your device.

Advanced options to clear Chrome data on Mac

Upon accessing the interface for Clearing browsing data, you can shift to the Advanced option feature.

Time range: Access the drop-down menu to select the duration for which you desire to clear out data.

Browsing History: This feature signifies your search history categorized according to your day-to-day activities.

Download History: It keeps a record of your previously downloaded files or documents.

Cookies and other site data: It is responsible for storing your website preferences and tracking your internet presence.

Cached images and files: These allow you a smooth and fast surfing experience. Chrome stores your web browsing searches on your Mac.

Passwords and other sign-in data: If allowed, Chrome can store your Passwords and other login credentials so that you can quickly access the same websites in the future.

Auto-fill form data: If you’ve ever filled in details like your name and address on the web browser, Chrome can store that information for future reference. In addition, you can change these details if you desire from the settings.

Site settings: Accessing websites that require permissions, like location and contacts, are saved as personal preferences for the same website. Hence, you’re not prompted with such alerts upon accessing the website in the future.

Hosted app data: This stores the information about the added third-party add-ons through the Chrome web store.

FAQs

The procedure of clearing cache, history, and cookies from your Chrome browser is not as hard as it seems. The steps mentioned above will ensure that your confidential information is safeguarded at all times. Remember to perform this task regularly to keep your browser running smoothly and prevent potential privacy issues.

How To Draw A Perfect 5 Point Star In Photoshop

Learn how easy it is to draw a perfect 5 point star, or 5 sided star, in Photoshop! And how to save the star as a custom shape so you’ll never need to draw it again. For Photoshop 2023 or later.

Written by Steve Patterson.

In this tutorial, I show you how to draw a perfect 5 point star in Photoshop. By “perfect”, I mean a star where the sides of the star segments line up perfectly with each other. Now Photoshop does include a few built-in star shapes, but none of them look right. So I’ll show you how easy it is to draw your own, and how to save the star as a custom shape so you’ll never need to draw it again.

Here’s what the star will look like when we’re done. Of course, you can choose any color you like:

A perfect 5 point star drawn in Photoshop.

Let’s get started!

Download this tutorial as a print-ready PDF!

Which version of Photoshop do I need?

Before we begin, I should point out that Adobe made changes to the shape tools in Photoshop 2023, which is what I’m using. So to follow along, you’ll need Photoshop 2023 or newer. Get the latest Photoshop version here.

Step 1: Create a new Photoshop document

Or if you are in Photoshop’s main interface, go up to the File menu in the Menu Bar and choose New:

In the New Document dialog box, choose the Default Photoshop Size:

Choosing the default document size.

And the new document appears:

The new Photoshop document.

Step 2: Select the Polygon Tool

And select the Polygon Tool from the list:

Choosing the Polygon Tool.

Step 3: Reset the tool’s options

And choose Reset Tool from the menu:

Resetting the Polygon Tool’s options.

This should set the Tool Mode to Shape (not Path or Pixels):

The Tool Mode should be set to Shape.

And it should set the Number of Sides for the polygon to 5 (since we want a 5 point star) and the Corner Radius to 0 (so we draw a star with sharp corners):

Number of sides = 5, Corner Radius = 0.

Step 4: Choose a fill color

Choosing a shape color.

Step 5: Turn off the stroke

And I’ll choose the No Color option. Then I’ll press Enter (Win) / Return (Mac) to close the dialog box:

Choosing No Color for the stroke.

Step 6: Draw a polygon shape

Once you’ve started dragging, press and hold the Shift key on your keyboard to constrain the shape so that all five sides are the same length, and continue dragging:

Holding Shift while dragging to make all five sides the same length.

You can move and reposition the shape as you draw it by still keeping the Shift key down, holding the spacebar on your keyboard (so Shift+spacebar), and dragging the shape into place. I’ll move it up a bit higher:

Add the spacebar to move the shape as you draw it.

Then release your spacebar, but again keep the Shift key held down, and continue dragging out the rest of the shape:

Drawing the rest of the polygon shape.

When you’re done, release your mouse button, then release the Shift key, and Photoshop fills the shape with your chosen color:

Release your mouse button (then the Shift key) to complete the shape.

Step 7: Lower the Star Ratio

At this point, we have a five-sided polygon with all five sides the same length. But how do we turn it into a star?

The answer is in the Properties panel. Here you’ll find the Star Ratio option, with an icon that looks like a star inside a larger polygon shape. By default, the value is set to 100 percent:

The Star Ratio option in the Properties panel.

Lowering the Star Ratio value.

Notice that the edges of the polygon start to bend inward, and the star begins to appear (you’ll need to release your mouse button for the shape to update):

Lowering the ratio creates the star shape.

To convert the polygon to a perfect star where the sides of the segments line up with each other, lower the Star Ratio to 47 percent:

Setting the Star Ratio to 47 percent.

And now the star segments like up perfectly:

A perfect star.

Step 8: Save the star as a custom shape

So that’s how easy it is to draw a perfect 5 point star in Photoshop. But things get even easier at this point because now that we’ve drawn the star once, we can save it as a custom shape and never have to draw it again.

Creating a new shape group

But before we do, let’s create a new shape group to hold our custom shapes. Open the Shapes panel by going up to the Window menu and choosing Shapes:

Creating a new shape group.

Naming the new group.

The new group appears below the others. If you already created a group in the past, make sure it’s selected since we want the star shape to be added to it:

The new shape group.

Creating the new custom shape

Then go up to the Edit menu in the Menu Bar and choose Define Custom Shape:

Naming the new custom shape.

And back in the Shapes panel, the star appears as a thumbnail within the group:

The star shape is added as a custom shape.

How to use the custom star shape

Since we’ve saved the star as a custom shape, I’ll delete my original star by going to the Layers panel and dragging the shape layer down onto the trash bin:

Deleting the original star shape in the Layers panel.

Dragging and dropping the star shape.

Release your mouse button and the star instantly appears. Drag the handles to resize the star as needed, and then press Enter (Win) / Return (Mac) to accept it:

The star is drawn when you release your mouse button.

And there we have it! Of course, drawing a star is just one use for the Polygon Tool, and the Polygon Tool is only one of Photoshop’s shape tools. So be sure to check out my Using the Shape Tools in Photoshop tutorial to learn how every shape tool works. Or visit my Photoshop Basics section for more topics. And don’t forget, all of my tutorials are now available to download as PDFs!

How To Download Private Vimeo Videos (6 Easy Steps)

Are you looking to download private Vimeo videos?

Downloading private Vimeo videos can be a little tricky as there isn’t a download option for it.

If you want to download a video that is set to private, there are some additional steps that you’ll need to take in order to do so.

In this guide, you’ll learn 6 easy steps to download a private Vimeo as a .MP4 file.

By the end of this guide, you can apply the same steps to download private videos on Vimeo in the future.

How to Download Private Vimeo Videos

Here is a step-by-step guide on how you can do this.

Step #1: Inspect the page and play the video

Firstly, go to the private Vimeo video that you want to download on a Chrome browser.

You’ll see several options such as “Back”, “Reload”, and “Inspect”.

The option that you’ll want to be using is “Inspect”.

This function allows you to view the HTML and CSS of a web page, which you’ll need later on.

After you’ve selected “Inspect”, play the video for a few seconds.

This will load up additional HTML and CSS files, which will be required later on as well.

Step #2: Go to network and type “player”

On the top navigation bar of the Inspect element, select “Network”, then search for “Player”.

Secondly, on the top navigation bar of the Inspect element, you’ll see multiple tabs—Elements, Console, Sources, Network, etc.

Select the “Network” tab (the forth tab from the left of the top navigation bar).

Once you’re there, type “player” on the search bar.

There are a lot of HTML and CSS files, so this is to filter out the file that you need to use.

Once you’ve typed “player”, multiple player HTML and CSS files will show up.

Important: After you’ve searched for “player” in the Network tab, you need to refresh the page (this will load up the required HTML files).

This step is crucial for everything to work.

After you’ve searched for “player” in the previous step, you need to refresh the page.

Otherwise, the HTML file that you’ll need to be using later on will not load.

After you’ve refreshed your page, additional HTML files will appear.

These files have numbers as their title (e.g. 393999309, 394000471, 394000590).

Step #4: Save the file as a .txt document

Save the file as a .txt document by putting .txt at the back of the file name (e.g. 393999309.txt).

Then, you need to save the file as a .txt document.

In order to do so, put .txt at the back of the file name (e.g. chúng tôi and the file will be automatically converted into a .txt document.

Once you’ve saved it as a .txt document, you’ll be able to see its HTML code.

Step #5: Copy the .mp4 link

On the Notepad, search for the quality of the video that you want to save it as (e.g. 720p) using CTRL + F, and copy the .MP4 URL of it.

(search for the quality of the video that you want to download)

Open the .txt file that you’ve just saved in your respective folder.

Once you’ve opened it, you’ll see a huge chunk of text, which is the HTML code of the file.

The specific text that you’ll want to be looking for is the quality of the video (e.g. 480p, 720p, 1080p).

Let’s say that you want to save the video in 720p quality.

On the top navigation bar of the Notepad, you’ll see multiple tabs—File, Edit, Format, View, and Help.

Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut CTRL + F.

Type in the quality of the video that you want to save it as (e.g. 720p).

Find the chunk of text that includes the quality of the video (e.g. 720p) and the .MP4 URL.

Example of URL to find:

Highlight the .MP4 URL, copy it, then proceed to the next step.

Lastly, paste the .MP4 URL that you’ve just copied into your browser.

After you’ve done so, the video will appear in the quality that you’ve selected.

You’ve successfully saved the private Vimeo video as a .MP4 file!

FAQ

Can you download a video from Vimeo?

Yes, you can download a video from Vimeo if it is set to public.

If a video is set to public, there will be an option for you to download the video.

However, if a video is set to private, there won’t be a download option under the video.

Conclusion

Saving private videos on Vimeo can be a pain because there isn’t a “Download” button on it.

In this article, you’ve learned how to save a private Vimeo video as a .MP4 file in 6 simple steps.

You can use the same process to save future private videos on Vimeo.

How To Create An Influencer Media Kit In 5 Steps

A strong influencer media kit will help you highlight your strengths and land more brand deals. Learn how to make one in just 5 steps.

How do you tell if gold is real? Bite it. How do you tell if an influencer is legit? Check out their media kit. These are rules for life.

Having an informative, engaging, and impressive media kit is one of the best ways to land professional deals as an influencer. And knowing how to spot a great media kit is one of the best ways to form meaningful partnerships as a business.

So for folks on both sides of influencer marketing, here’s everything you need to know about creating an effective media kit.

Bonus: Download a free, fully customizable influencer media kit template to help you introduce your accounts to brands, land sponsorship deals, and make more money on social media.

What is an influencer media kit?

An influencer media kit is a document that influencers and content creators share with brands when discussing potential partnerships.

A good media kit should:

Showcase your strengths

Prove that you have an engaged online following (e.g. by including follower stats)

Highlight the kind of value you can bring to a potential client

Simply put, the purpose of a media kit is to convince others (businesses, collaborators, and other influencers you could potentially partner with) that you have the followers, the strategy, and the confidence it takes to boost their presence online—and in turn, make them money.

Ideally, a media kit should be short and sweet (like a resume). It’s a visually appealing and concise snapshot of your online presence and achievements.

Media kits are usually exchanged in a PDF or slideshow format—but again, if it’s a slideshow it should be short! Think of it more like a highlight reel than a feature film.

Let’s get rolling.

5 reasons you need an influencer media kit 1. Come across as more professional

Just like having an email with your own domain name or ordering an appetizer for the table, media kits make you look like a boss: they show you’re prepared, experienced and eager to collaborate.

2. Land better brand deals

Professional media kits lead to professional brand deals — and you’re more likely to score a good partnership with a good media kit.

Think about it: if your kit shows the value you can bring, you have more bargaining power when it comes to negotiating fees. Being able to give concrete examples of the good you’ve done for other businesses is an asset to landing a great new deal.

3. Communicate more efficiently

Sometimes, working in social media can be a numbers game (and no, we’re not talking about how many followers you have).

If you’re reaching out to lots of businesses about potential brand deals, or having lots of brands reach out to you, you’ll want a media kit at the ready. Your kit is a one-step hack for showing potential partners everything they need to know about you, and having one means you won’t have to go back and forth emailing and DMing to communicate the same information over and over again. Just send them a comprehensive media kit and you’ll only have to deal with follow-up questions.

4. Set yourself apart

Your media kit sets you apart from other influencers as much as your content does. Being creative and concise in your kit shows brands your skills in action, and you can use your media kit as an opportunity to stand out from the crowd.

Think Elle Woods perfumed pink paper, but digital. What, like it’s hard?

5. Gain confidence

Anyone can experience self-doubt at any point in your career, but chances are if you’re a micro- or nano-influencer (10,000 to 49,999 followers or 1,000 to 9,999 followers, respectively) you’re suffering from a bit of imposter syndrome.

Don’t worry too much. Simply putting together this kit, which is basically a beautiful celebration of everything that makes you fabulous, can help you get in the right mental state for getting out there and getting that bread.

What should be included in an influencer media kit? A short bio

This is arguably the most important part of your kit—it should come first, as it will shape the viewer’s first impression of you as an influencer.

Include your name, where you’re based, and what you do—your interests, values and experience are important to communicate here.

A list of your social media accounts

A list of your accounts across social media platforms (complete with links!) is an essential component of a media kit. Hopefully, folks looking over your kit will want to see you in action, so providing them with a clear route to your content is key.

Your performance stats

As much as we believe that quality beats quantity when it comes to social media, the stats still matter. Hard numbers will help your potential clients decide whether your reach and engagement align with the brand’s targets.

Make sure you include:

Your number of followers. This is important, but not quite as informative as…

Your engagement rates. This shows how many people actually interact with your content (and proves that you haven’t bought all your followers). For an in-depth guide on engagement rates and other stats that matter, check out our guides to analytics on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok.

General audience demographics. What is the gender breakdown, and where does your audience live? How old are they? This will help businesses determine if there’s overlap between your followers and their target audience, and will inform whether or not you’re the right fit for their brand.

You can also include:

How much content you post in an average week

How much your account and following has grown in a certain amount of time

Successful brand deal case studies

This is the part where you shamelessly brag.

Include as many numbers as possible when you’re exhibiting case studies, including how long campaigns lasted, how the stats for the brand you partnered with changed, and any concrete data you can give for the actual number of people you sent their way.

Affiliate programs are also great for this. If, for example, you gave your followers a unique code that they could use for a discount at a certain vendor, your kit should include how many people used your code (and how much money you brought in for the brand).

Obviously, you’ll want to be as positive as possible when referring to other brands that you’ve partnered with. Now is the time to be upbeat and inspiring.

Your rates

Your rates should come at the end—that way, you’ve already shown your potential client what you’re worth it.

Whether or not you should include your rate card in your brand kit is controversial in the influencer and content creator community. Here are some things to consider.

A positive aspect of being upfront about pricing is that it shows brands that you expect to be paid for your work (free products are cool, but cash is better). Because it’s a relatively new and creative industry, it’s easy to get wrapped up in a contract that doesn’t serve you economically, and being clear about rates helps to prevent that.

That said, promising rates before discussing the nature of the work you’re doing is risky. Phrasing your prices as a “suggested” or “estimated” rate helps give you some more bargaining power.

Alternatively, you can not include rates in your media kit and instead send them separately when requested—that way you can adapt your prices for different companies.

Photos

Odds are, much of the work you’ll be doing as an influencer is visual—it’s what grabs people’s attention and inspires them to stop scrolling. Be sure to include a few high-quality photos in your media kit to exemplify your photography skills and your overall aesthetic.

Photos are a nice visual break to a reader, and they also give brands a little taste of what you do.

Contact information

This one should go without saying — when creating your media kit, include contact details to make sure brands know exactly how to get in touch with you!

How to create a stand-out influencer media kit Do your research

If you’re reading this, you’re already on this step. Go you! Take a look at the media kit examples included in this blog post and do some digging into other influencers in your community. Find what stands out to you and determine why—then you can recreate it with your own personal flavour.

Collect your data

Take notes of all your stats and case study numbers, no matter how big or small or successful or not successful. Remember to pay special attention to stats that show engagement rather than just numbers.

Hootsuite Analytics will be your hero here—the platform gives you the info from every app (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube,Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest!) in one place.

Learn more about Hootsuite Analytics:

Cut any data that doesn’t serve you

Honesty is the best policy, but if you feel certain stats aren’t representative of how great you are, you don’t have to include them.

Focus on the positives and how much you’ve grown, and leave out anything that won’t help you get a deal. Make sure you still have those stats written somewhere, though, as brands might ask, and you definitely don’t want to lie (it’s morally bad, yeah, but getting called out for that is also super humiliating).

Plan your look

Put your art hat on and plan what kind of vibe you’re looking for —warm or cool, maximalist or minimalist? You can draw inspiration from art you like (album covers, clothing brands, etc.) but make sure the style you settle on aligns with your content. Have a color palette in mind.

Use a template

If you’re an art whiz, the layout part of a media kit should be a breeze. But a template is an excellent start for those less editing-savvy, and many online templates rock: they’re totally customizable and don’t look cookie-cutter at all. So use the support, and take the template—if not to use, just to inspire.

Our team has created this free, fully customizable media kit template to make getting started easier:

Influencer media kit examples

Now that we’ve covered all the basic elements of a media kit, here are a few examples of well-designed, effective media kits.

It’s important to remember that there’s no one way to make a media kit – each kit will look a little different from the next. What’s important is that they are easy to read, friendly to the eyeballs and informative.
