Suggested March 2024 How To Download Private Vimeo Videos (6 Easy Steps)

Are you looking to download private Vimeo videos?

Downloading private Vimeo videos can be a little tricky as there isn’t a download option for it.

If you want to download a video that is set to private, there are some additional steps that you’ll need to take in order to do so.

In this guide, you’ll learn 6 easy steps to download a private Vimeo as a .MP4 file.

By the end of this guide, you can apply the same steps to download private videos on Vimeo in the future.

How to Download Private Vimeo Videos

Here is a step-by-step guide on how you can do this.

Step #1: Inspect the page and play the video

Firstly, go to the private Vimeo video that you want to download on a Chrome browser.

You’ll see several options such as “Back”, “Reload”, and “Inspect”.

The option that you’ll want to be using is “Inspect”.

This function allows you to view the HTML and CSS of a web page, which you’ll need later on.

After you’ve selected “Inspect”, play the video for a few seconds.

This will load up additional HTML and CSS files, which will be required later on as well.

Step #2: Go to network and type “player”

On the top navigation bar of the Inspect element, select “Network”, then search for “Player”.

Secondly, on the top navigation bar of the Inspect element, you’ll see multiple tabs—Elements, Console, Sources, Network, etc.

Select the “Network” tab (the forth tab from the left of the top navigation bar).

Once you’re there, type “player” on the search bar.

There are a lot of HTML and CSS files, so this is to filter out the file that you need to use.

Once you’ve typed “player”, multiple player HTML and CSS files will show up.

Important: After you’ve searched for “player” in the Network tab, you need to refresh the page (this will load up the required HTML files).

This step is crucial for everything to work.

After you’ve searched for “player” in the previous step, you need to refresh the page.

Otherwise, the HTML file that you’ll need to be using later on will not load.

After you’ve refreshed your page, additional HTML files will appear.

These files have numbers as their title (e.g. 393999309, 394000471, 394000590).

Step #4: Save the file as a .txt document

Save the file as a .txt document by putting .txt at the back of the file name (e.g. 393999309.txt).

Then, you need to save the file as a .txt document.

In order to do so, put .txt at the back of the file name (e.g. chúng tôi and the file will be automatically converted into a .txt document.

Once you’ve saved it as a .txt document, you’ll be able to see its HTML code.

Step #5: Copy the .mp4 link

On the Notepad, search for the quality of the video that you want to save it as (e.g. 720p) using CTRL + F, and copy the .MP4 URL of it.

(search for the quality of the video that you want to download)

Open the .txt file that you’ve just saved in your respective folder.

Once you’ve opened it, you’ll see a huge chunk of text, which is the HTML code of the file.

The specific text that you’ll want to be looking for is the quality of the video (e.g. 480p, 720p, 1080p).

Let’s say that you want to save the video in 720p quality.

On the top navigation bar of the Notepad, you’ll see multiple tabs—File, Edit, Format, View, and Help.

Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut CTRL + F.

Type in the quality of the video that you want to save it as (e.g. 720p).

Find the chunk of text that includes the quality of the video (e.g. 720p) and the .MP4 URL.

Example of URL to find:

Highlight the .MP4 URL, copy it, then proceed to the next step.

Lastly, paste the .MP4 URL that you’ve just copied into your browser.

After you’ve done so, the video will appear in the quality that you’ve selected.

You’ve successfully saved the private Vimeo video as a .MP4 file!

How To Clear Chrome Cache On Mac In 6 Easy Steps

If you’ve been using Google Chrome daily, you might be aware of the storage that keeps piling up and taking up an exponential amount of space on your Mac. Clearing these files on a regular basis is essential for maintaining optimal browser performance and protecting privacy. This guide will walk you through the process of clearing Chrome cache, history, and cookies on your Mac. Let’s get started.

Importance of clearing cache, history, and cookies on Mac

However, before jumping into the process, it’s vital to be aware of the terms.

Cache: Every content that has been previously accessed, like web pages, images, and online streaming services, acts out as cache memory. This data is locally stored in your browser’s memory, thereby leading to slower performance.

History: It can be referenced as a logbook that keeps track of your activities. The record of your internet presence might come in handy for future preference but is extremely volatile too. Your browser history can reveal a ton of sensitive information and compromise privacy.

Cookies: Unlike its name, cookies are used to keep track of user behavior across multiple websites. It contains crucial information like login credentials, preferences, and much more. While cookies provide a personalized experience, they are equipped with tracking information.

You must realize that these files are temporary and will not affect your browsing experience. On the contrary, clearing this temporary data will reduce the risk of ID theft and keep cyber-attacks at bay.

How to delete cache, history, and cookies in Chrome on Mac

A small menu will appear on your screen, allowing you to completely remove Cache, History, and Cookies from your browser.

In a few seconds, your web browser will be cleared of every piece of information ever stored in your device.

Advanced options to clear Chrome data on Mac

Upon accessing the interface for Clearing browsing data, you can shift to the Advanced option feature.

Time range: Access the drop-down menu to select the duration for which you desire to clear out data.

Browsing History: This feature signifies your search history categorized according to your day-to-day activities.

Download History: It keeps a record of your previously downloaded files or documents.

Cookies and other site data: It is responsible for storing your website preferences and tracking your internet presence.

Cached images and files: These allow you a smooth and fast surfing experience. Chrome stores your web browsing searches on your Mac.

Passwords and other sign-in data: If allowed, Chrome can store your Passwords and other login credentials so that you can quickly access the same websites in the future.

Auto-fill form data: If you’ve ever filled in details like your name and address on the web browser, Chrome can store that information for future reference. In addition, you can change these details if you desire from the settings.

Site settings: Accessing websites that require permissions, like location and contacts, are saved as personal preferences for the same website. Hence, you’re not prompted with such alerts upon accessing the website in the future.

Hosted app data: This stores the information about the added third-party add-ons through the Chrome web store.

FAQs

The procedure of clearing cache, history, and cookies from your Chrome browser is not as hard as it seems. The steps mentioned above will ensure that your confidential information is safeguarded at all times. Remember to perform this task regularly to keep your browser running smoothly and prevent potential privacy issues.

How To Draw On Canva (5 Easy Steps To Get Drawing!)

You might have been wondering if you can draw on Canva? Well, the answer is most definitely yes thanks to Canva’s Draw app.

In this article, we’ll take you through the simple steps to start drawing on Canva.

Let’s get to it.

Jump to a specific section:

Step 1: Add the Draw App

Adding the Canva draw app is very easy, here’s how:

Go to one of your existing Canva designs, or a blank canvas

Go to ‘More’ via the left side panel in the editor

Open the app so you can start using it for your designs

Adding the Canva draw app Canva draw app ready to be used

Step 2: Choose your drawing utensil

Canva currently has four different options for drawing utensils:

Pen tool

Marker tool

Glow pen tool

Highlighter tool

Drawing utensil options

Here’s how each of them looks in action:

How each drawing utensil looks in action

We particularly liked the glow pen as it is has a kind of neon glow effect, but they all look great. We also felt like Bart Simpson putting that graphic together.

Step 3: Choose your settings and get drawing

You can then choose your settings including the size of the stroke, the transparency, and the color:

Utensil settings

Once you’re happy with the settings you can start to draw on the canvas. Whether you’re using a drawing tablet, a mouse, or a touchpad you can scribble to your hearts content on the canvas.

Once you’re done scribbling you’ll need to press the ‘Done’ button at the left side of the top panel and that will make that drawing into an element.

Finishing your drawing

It’s worth noting that you can use the eraser function before pressing ‘Done’ if you want to make any changes to drawing before finalizing it.

Using the eraser

Also if you draw separate things in your drawing they will all become part of the same element once you press ‘Done’.

If you want to create multiple things that become their own element you’ll need to do drawings for each one:

One drawn element Separate drawn elements

Step 4: Add effects and animation

Once you’ve completed a drawing, it becomes a graphic element and can be customized in the same way that you could any other graphic element.

This means you can add effects and animation to it.

For example, you could add a ‘Glow’ shadow effect around a word that you drew:

Navigating to the ‘Edit image’ options

Adding the ‘Glow’ shadow effect

You can also add animation to your drawn elements.

We added the ‘Pop’ animation to our drawings and created the cheeky video:

Step 5: Copy drawn elements to other designs

You can also copy your drawn elements and paste them into some of your other designs:

How To Save Snapchat Videos

The popular social networking application, Snapchat, was the first to introduce a time-sensitive viewing system. It made sure the photos and videos you watch on the platform remained exclusive to the people they’re intended for. It made sure that no prying eyes got what they were looking for.

While regular Snaps disappear pretty much moments after you view them, Stories on Snapchat keep their shape for 24 hours. After that, they, too, disappear off the face of social media platform and cannot be recovered in any way.

Often we come across — or even create — Stories or Snaps that are too cool to be seen once or only for 24 hours. For those frustrating occasions, you need something — a method of saving Snapchat videos to your mobile phone gallery for unlimited viewing. Today, we’ll tackle this head-on and tell you how you could save Snapchat videos to your device.

Can you save videos officially?

Snapchat’s time-sensitive nature makes it a very compelling option for millions around the world. The app instills a sense of urgency, which cannot be matched by any of its competitors out there. Snapchat knows how valuable time-sensitivity is to them and is doing all it can to preserve it.

Yes, you can save your own videos — both before and after posting — on Snapchat but that’s pretty much the extent of it. You cannot, under any circumstance, download others’ Snaps, be it still photos or video. The videos people upload as Stories are also out of reach. The social networking site is very serious about safeguarding the intellectual assets of its contributors and not allowing others to download their work certainly goes a long way in bringing a sense of trust.

The only way you could download someone else’s Snap is when they push it through Snapchat text and grant you permission to save it to your device.

What happens when you try to take a screenshot?

Yes, we know that we’re primarily talking about saving videos here, but there are occasions when you are only looking to save one or two frames from a specific video. And when that happens, taking a quick screenshot is the way to go. Unfortunately, however, screenshotting isn’t all that straightforward on Snapchat.

Unlike Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, Snapchat takes screenshotting rather seriously; as an act of privacy breach. And since the platform has been so vocal about privacy norms and safe practices, it immediately notifies the person whose video you’ve snapped. Snapchat’s new feature is exceptional for content creators who rely heavily on their original ideas and execution. However, for casual Snapchatters, it can draw unwarranted embarrassment.

How to save your own videos

Snapchat has a pretty robust video-creating platform. You can use filters, effects, and more to create compelling content — videos that can truly help you stand out. If you’re an influencer or just like to show off your skills, posting only on one platform might not get you the response you’re gunning for. Fortunately, you can download the videos you’ve created on Snapchat to your camera roll or gallery and keep track of your exploits for the rest of your life. Here is how you could save your Snaps from Snapchat.

Before posting on Snapchat

This is the easiest and the most convenient way of saving your videos to your phone. However, this only works before or up until you post your video on the platform. So, when you’re still in the Snapchat creator studio, all you have to do is hit the ‘Save’ button at the bottom portion of your screen.

Thanks to Snapchat’s new update, you now get to pick where your saved videos go. The first option is to save it as a ‘Memory’ while the second one allows you to save it in the ‘Memories’ folder as well as your device’s camera roll or gallery.

After posting on Snapchat

Depending on your save button preference, it could either go to your Memories folder or camera roll.

From the Memories folder

Memories is another exclusive Snapchat feature that encourages you to use Snapchat to preserve your special moments. As discussed, any story you upload to Snapchat gets wiped off after 24 hours. To keep it beyond the expiration, you’ll need to hit the ‘Save’ button either before posting the memory or after it goes live. The first option would still give you the choice to picking your destination — Memories or camera. The latter, however, would just save your Snaps to the Memories folder.

To access the ‘Memories’ folder, you’ll need to go to the camera screen on your left and swipe up from the bottom of the screen. This section would reveal all your memories, breaking them down into categories: ‘Snaps,’ ‘Stories,’ ‘Camera Roll,’ and ‘My Eyes Only.’ Now, go to the ‘Snaps’ tab, and you’ll find all the Snaps that you’ve saved that didn’t show up in your camera roll.

Tap on one to open and tap on the vertical ellipsis button at the top-right corner of the screen. Then, tap on ‘Export Snap.’

Finally, when the options bar pops up, tap on ‘Download.’

That’s it! Your Snap would be saved to the camera roll.

How to change the behavior of the save button

This is where you’ll find all the important settings of the application. Now, go to ‘Memories.’

Then, under the ‘Save Destinations’ banner, tap on ‘Save Button.’

This changes the behavior of the ‘Save’ button you see while editing a Snap. By default, your saved Snaps go to the ‘Memories’ folder, but you can force it to go to the ‘Camera Roll’ or both.

Additionally, you can ask Snapchat to autosave your Snaps to Memories. That way, you won’t ever miss saving a cool video.

How to save Snaps from other users

In the previous section, we saw how easy it is to save your own Snaps. However, when it comes to other profiles, the story isn’t all that straightforward. Snapchat doesn’t allow you to download videos from other Snapchat users, primarily fearing unauthorized distribution. Still, if you’re that desperate, there are a few ways you could save videos from other Snapchat profiles.

Using your screen recorder

This is probably the most straightforward way of saving videos from other profiles. Yes, you might end up seeing a little more of the screen than you signed up for. Still, it is the best method of saving Snapchat videos if you know a thing or two about basic video editing. Since Android 10 and iOS 11, almost all phones come with screen recorders. All you have to do is go to the video you want to save to your gallery, pull down the quick access panel, and turn on ‘Screen Recording.’ You might get a warning that sensitive data can get recorded, but feel free to ignore it.

If you do not have a screen recorder on your phone, you could very easily download one from Google Play or App Store. Check out AZ Screen Recorder if you’re in the market for a lightweight and easy-to-use screen recording application.

After that’s taken care of, all you have to do is go to your preferred video editing app — the Photos app on iOS works just fine — and crop the borders of the recorded video.

Using screen mirroring software

Screen-recording a Snapchat video and cropping it afterward is still the best solution if you’re looking to strike a balance between simplicity and video quality. This particular step — screen mirroring — also involves screen recording, but not on your phone. If you’re into game streaming or tutorial-making, you must be familiar with the act of recording the entire screen of the PC and sharing important notes. Here, we’ll do something similar, but with the help of a super handy application: APowerMirror.

With its help, you can cast your phone’s screen to your PC and record Snapchat videos natively through the application. After downloading the application to your phone (iOS/Android) it’ll prompt you to install it on your PC as well.

Upon installing it successfully and confirming which two devices you’re trying to link — which can be done by following the prompts — you’ll need to look for the PC client through the APowerMirror app on your phone. First, tap on ‘Mirror.’

Then, allow it to search for your computer.

It is to be noted that your devices need to be on the same WiFi network for this process to work seamlessly. If that isn’t the case, feel free to connect the two devices using a USB cable. Before you do that, you’ll need to enable debugging on your Android smartphone before connecting it to your computer. Once the devices are connected successfully, you’ll be able to start mirroring your phone’s screen to PC.

The application would save the video to a convenient location.

You can even make the video full-screen if you feel like it. As you must have noticed, APowerMirror pushes you pretty hard to get the premium version, which is a sophisticated way of saying that you don’t get much in the trial version. As of now, the application only allows you to mirror your phone screen to a PC for 10 minutes at once. You’ll even see a menacing timer on the bottom left corner of your screen. When the timer expires the mirroring would stop, and you’d have to do the whole thing all over again. Additionally, there’s a restriction on screen recording as well. If you refuse to pay for the premium version, you can only record for three minutes. Thankfully, Snapchat videos do not run that long, meaning you shouldn’t have much trouble hitting your target with the software.

Using your secondary phone

Yes, it’s not the most creative solution and most definitely isn’t a universal option for everyone. However, if recording your screen and editing seem like a bit of a drag, this method is the best bet for you. All you have to do is open the video you wish to save and record it using the camera of your secondary phone. When the recording completes, simply send the file over to your primary phone. Of course, the audio and video quality would suffer, and you might end up having a hard time picking the right frame. Still, if you have the means and aren’t looking to redistribute the videos you save, feel free to try out this method. For cross-posting and other stuff, you’d be better off picking one of the other two methods.

Do third-party applications work?

In the previous section, we talked about the three ways you could save videos from other Snapchatters. Granted that none of them is super sophisticated, you must be wondering about third-party solutions — apps that take care of the tedious work without forcing you to jump through hoops.

A quick browse through the App Store or Google Play might fetch you some “legit” apps that promise to let you download Snapchat videos through their makeshift user interface. To do so, you’re of course required to give them your Snapchat login credentials and even your Gmail ID. Unfortunately, all of these apps have been blacklisted by Snapchat — back in 2014/2024 — and do not work. So, if you come across one out of the blue, remember that it is probably trying to scam you and will not fetch you the outcome even after taking your username and password.

Some good practices

Now that you have the means to download Snapchat videos, we’d encourage you to take a step back and follow a couple of rules.

First and foremost, never redistribute or even download videos if the creator of the content is specifically asking you not to. If you go against their will and share it anyway, you’d be violating their privacy.

Second, even if a creator hasn’t prohibited redistribution, please find it in yourself to ask for their permission anyway. Content creators spend hours and days trying to create engaging content, and they deserve to get recognized for their work.

Virgin Media is one of the leading telecom companies that provide Internet services. Unfortunately, some users are complaining about Virgin Media high ping and latency, marring their experience with the service.

Thankfully, we’re here to help you identify the causes of this issue and provide a lasting solution to it.

Why is my ping so high on Virgin Media?

Below are some of the potential causes for the Virgin Media’s high ping issue:

Outdated drivers: One of the major causes of this issue is an outdated network driver. You can fix this quickly by updating your driver.

Network issues: This issue can also be caused by a corrupt DNS cache. The solution to this is to flush your DNS and reset Winsock.

Low connection strength: Sometimes, the connection you opt for can make you experience ping spikes. If you play games and stream a lot, a 1GB connection is ideal.

Listed below are some preliminary troubleshooting steps to perform before exploring the solutions in this section:

Update your router’s firmware

Remove any powerline network adapters

Switch from wired mode to WiFi

Upgrade to a gigabit connection

Switch to a different device

If you still can’t eliminate the high latency and ping, you can now proceed to the fixes below:

1. Set the Virgin Media Hub from router to modem mode

You might be experiencing the Virgin Media Hub’s high latency and ping because you are in router mode. Switching to modem mode has fixed this issue for many users, and you should try it too.

Note that your IP address changes from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.100.1 in modem mode.

In some cases, the Virgin Media high ping issue can be due to problems with your network drivers. Following the steps above, you should be able to update your drivers quickly.

Alternatively, you can opt for an automatic driver updater in Outbyte Driver Updater. This unique tool scans your PC for missing, outdated, and broken drivers and fixes them accordingly.

With this, you can nib all driver issues in the bud before they cause major problems.

⇒ Get Outbyte Driver Updater

3. Flush DNS and reset Winsock 4. Set custom DNS servers

By default, Virgin Media is in charge of your DNS requests. That means that your requests get automatically processed by your ISP. However, if their DNS servers are faulty, it can take a long time to finish processing.

So, to fix this Virgin Media high ping issue, you should switch to a custom DNS server. If using the Google DNS server does not work, you can try the following free and secure DNS servers:

Cloudflare

1.1.1.1

preferred (IPv4)

1.0.0.1 alternate (IPv4)

2606:4700:4700::1111 preferred (IPv6)

2606:4700:4700::1001 alternate (IPv6)

OpenDNS

208.67.222.222

preferred (IPv4)

208.67.220.220 alternate (IPv4)

2620:119:35::35 preferred (IPv6)

2620:119:53::53

alternate (IPv6)

5. Use a VPN

ExpressVPN is a virtual private network solution that can help fix Virgin Media’s bad ping issues if we’re talking about a server-side problem. By connecting to a VPN server, you hide your IP address, encrypt your traffic, and bypass the ISP servers.

Therefore, Virgin Media is no longer in charge of forwarding your data, so you shouldn’t have to worry about Internet slowdowns anymore.

However, you must rule out all other causes of ping issues, so ensure it’s not a local problem with your device, WiFi, or Ethernet. Otherwise, you can end up doing more damage.

Read more about this topic

Finally, contact the company’s customer service if you can’t fix your Virgin Media bad ping problems no matter what solution you try, not even when attempting to fix Ethernet problems.

They should send a field technician to diagnose and fix your Internet-related issues.

That is all for the Virgin Media high latency and ping issue. You should now be able to solve the problem if you follow the steps carefully.

If you are facing VPN issues with Virgin Media, check our detailed guide to fix it quickly.

How To Keep Your Video Calls Private

How to Keep Your Video Calls Private

Amid the continuous data breach and digital privacy shattering, no platform can guarantee you safety about privacy & security of your sensitive info. And in the digital world, the most prerequisite is the data security so you can be assured that you & your data is absolutely safe.

Normally, you don’t talk to the familiar people on video calls, let alone stranger ones. However, if needed to, you’d want to keep them as private as the conversations can be. So you wouldn’t feel that someone was eavesdropping on your conversations. Let’s find out various ways to make secure video calls & keep them as private as possible:

Ways to Keep Video Calls Private & Secure

A lot of video meetings (video conferences) come with an invitation link that helps you directly connect with video call members. Just ignore or keep yourself away from posting the links on social media platforms, email groups, or any probable place for misusing the link.

The Content You Share on Video Call

This goes without say and isn’t limited to video calls only. In the digital world, you should be quite sure about what content you are sharing as there is nothing called “security”. Being digitally secure is a myth that has been proved by companies many times over the years.

For a video call, stop yourself from showing content that isn’t part of the call purpose as it may work against you. For example, Zoom video conferencing app has different virtual backgrounds & Skype lets you blur the background with a toggle switch (simple as that).

End-to-End Encrypted Video Calling Service

I think all the digital communication platforms including all the social media stations need to be end-to-end encrypted. So your first attempt to while looking for video call services, check out the end-to-end encrypted apps so that whatever you write or say, is just a bunch of random codes for third parties.

Apple’s FaceTime & Google Duo, are two of the video call apps that are end-to-end encrypted services. Apart from these 2 above, WhatsApp & Signal help you send instant messages with the same feature.

Recently, Zoom has started end-to-end encryption service after the blunder the application has made in the recent days.

Constantly Keep Updating Your Video Calling Software

Every update brings something new that can be an amazing experience for the user as well as vice versa. Just to keep yourself updated with the latest bug problems & use the most updated apps would be quite safe for the user. Keep yourself away from the potential security holes by updating the device you are running on the software or the app.

You also need to keep yourself updated with the news around the app you are using as it may actually help you in various ways. For example, video conferencing apps like Zoom have rolled out many updates in recent weeks that have been useful for many users all over the world.

Start Using Additional Privacy Features

Similarly, Google Duo has the Knock Knock feature that lets you show your video to the contacts when you call them, before they answer the call. If you don’t want that to happen, tap on the burger menu on the right corner of the Duo app interface, go to Settings and turn off the Knock Knock feature.

Wrapping Up

The surprising need in the video calling services due to the COVID-19 lockdown has made things a bit stressful for the users. No app is giving you a security guarantee; however, all of them are trying their best to provide us ways to make secure video calls. For now, let’s not fully rely on the companies & try to keep ourselves updated with what we can do on our part.

Let’s follow the above pointers to determine if we are on the right track of not becoming a victim of digital world freedom.
