Quick navigation:

How to Disable iCloud Photo Library Only On an Individual Device

You can choose to turn off iCloud Photo Library on a single device or disable it across the devices. If you want to use the cloud service but wish to exclude a device from it, you have the option to get it done. On the other hand, if you want to put a full stop on this feature, you can download all of your original photos and videos and also disable it.

On iPhone and iPad

Step #1. Launch the Settings app on your iOS device.

Step #2. Now, tap on Apple ID banner → iCloud → Photos.

Step #3. Next, turn off the switch next to the iCloud Photo Library.

Alternately, Settings app → Photos → turn off the switch next to iCloud Photo Library.

Now, you may see two options:

Remove from iPhone: If you choose this option, the photos that are yet to be fully downloaded will be removed from this iPhone. However, these images will still be available on other devices which are using the iCloud Photo Library

Download Photos & Videos: Allows you to download all of your images. I would recommend you to select Download Photos & Videos and wait until they have been downloaded. But if you don’t need them, go with the remove option

Note: On your device running iOS 10.2 or earlier, open Settings → iCloud → Photos and turn off the switch next to iCloud Photo Library.

In iOS 12 and macOS Mojave, iCloud Library is named as iCloud Photos.

On Mac

Step #1. Launch System Preferences on your Mac.

On Apple TV 4th-gen or Apple TV 4K

Step #1. Launch the Settings app on your Apple TV.

Step #3. Next, disable the iCloud Photo Library.

If you no longer want to use the cloud service, you can turn it off across your devices.

How to Turn Off iCloud Photo Library on All Devices

On your iOS device

Step #1. Open Settings app on your iOS device → Apple ID banner  → iCloud → Manage Storage.

Step #2. Now, Tap on Photos and then select Disable & Delete.

On your iPhone running iOS 10.2 or earlier, launch Settings → iCloud → Storage → Manage Storage → iCloud Photo Library, then choose Disable and Delete.

On your Mac

Step #1. Launch System Preferences on your Mac → iCloud.

Step #3. Next, Select Photo Library and then choose Disable and delete.

Keep in mind that your photos will be stored in your account for 30 days. After that, they will be deleted.

To download your photos and videos on your iOS device, open Settings app → Apple ID banner → iCloud → Photos and select Download and Keep Originals

On your Mac, launch Photos app select Photos → Preferences, then check the box next to Download Originals to this Mac

That’s all there is to it!

Wrapping up…

iCloud is undoubtedly the most secure cloud service in the world. It keeps your data protected through top-grade encryption. May I know the reason why you no longer use it? And if you have found any other service worth giving a try, do tell us its name and the features that have attracted you.

How To Stream The 2023 World Series On Iphone, Ipad, Mac, And Apple Tv

The MLB World Series officially begins tonight, with the Boston Red Sox set to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers. Game 1 is taking place at Fenway Park in Boston, but luckily you’ll be able to tune in from anywhere. Read on for details on how to stream the World Series from your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV.

Game 1 is set to start at 8PM ET/5PM PT, with Fox handling the broadcast this year. As usual with Fox, they make it rather difficult to stream without some sort of cable solution – but here are some ideas.

Stream the World Series on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV

The easiest way to stream the World Series is through the Fox Sports Go application, which is available for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Unfortunately to do this you’ll need a valid cable log-in, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be yours and could instead be that of a friend or family member.

Download the Fox Sports Go app from the App Store for free.

If you’re looking to stream the World Series from your Mac, you can do so via the Fox Sports website, but again you’ll need a cable login to do so.

If, however, you don’t have easy access to a cable provider login, you’re not completely out of luck. Many of the streaming TV platforms, including DirecTV Now, Sling, and others, offer free trials that give you access to the World Series.

Sling TV, for instance, is touting itself as the “best way to catch all the Fall Classic action.” You’ll need the company’s Sling Blue package, which offers a 7-day free trial and access to FOX. Sign up for a Sling TV’s free 7-day trial here. Just remember to cancel if you don’t wish to be charged. The plan will renew at $25 per month after the trial.

DirecTV Now, YouTube TV, PlayStation Vue, FuboTV, and Hulu with Live TV will also allow you to stream the World Series, and offer trial periods. Here are those details:

In addition to allowing you to stream the World Series via their dedicated applications, these services can also serve as cable provider logins if you’d prefer to stream via the Fox Sports Go app.

World Series 2023 schedule

Wondering if a 7-day trial will let you stream the World Series in its entirety? Well, as long as it’s not a full seven game series, you should be good to go. Here’s the full schedule:

Tuesday, Oct. 23

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Boston Red Sox on FOX Game 1 – 8:09 p.m. ET

Wednesday, Oct. 24

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Boston Red Sox on FOX Game 2 – 8:09 p.m. ET

How To Remotely Disable Icloud Activation Lock From An Iphone

So what should you if you longer have possession over the iPhone, but you still want to remove the Activation Lock and disconnect it from your Apple ID and iCloud account? Or what should you do if you bought an iPhone from someone else, and it has an activation lock attached to their Apple ID?

Fortunately you don’t need to worry, because there is a pretty easy way to remotely disable Activation Lock from an iPhone or iPad using chúng tôi though, fair warning here, you must remotely erase the iPhone to complete the process. Yes, that means anything on the iPhone will be lost in the process, so you wouldn’t want to do this with a device that has stuff on it you want to keep without backing it up first.

The iCloud based locking feature is most often encountered with an iPhone, but it applies to the iPad and iPod touch as well.

Disable Activation Lock on iPhone / iPad from iCloud

You (or whoever has the Apple ID) will need access to a web browser and the internet to be able to do this, they do not need physical access to the iOS device to remove the iCloud lock with this method:

Go to chúng tôi and log in with the associated Apple ID

Go to “Find My iPhone” and wait for all devices to be found / located

Select the iPhone in question that you want to disable Activation Lock for*

Choose “Erase” and enter the Apple ID

Confirm to erase the device – there is no turning back if you confirm this, everything on it will be removed

When the phone is finished erasing, choose “Remove from Account” to completely disable iCloud Activation Lock and to remove that device from the Apple ID iCloud account – this is important do not forget to choose “Remove from Account”

* Note: if the iPhone / iPad / iPod touch has already been erased or is offline and shut off, it will appear as greyed out and offline in the Devices list shown on chúng tôi If that’s the case, simply select it and choose the “Remove from Account” option, the device won’t need to be erased twice.

With the iPhone erased, and, this is important – removed from the Apple ID account – it will set itself up as new and allow anyone to enter a new Apple ID and use the device as new.

The great thing about this method is that it can be done remotely. This means that if you bought a used iPhone online or from someone that later locked down the iOS device for some reason or another, you can simply contact them and walk them through the unlocking process with iCloud. They don’t need to do anything with the actual device since it’s all handled online through Apple’s iCloud service.

Of course if you know the Apple ID holder in real life, you can just have them log into the associated account directly on the device to unlock it that way too, but obviously that’s not going to be as convenient unless they’re nearby. If you go that route, be sure they proceed further to either reset iOS to factory settings or just toggle the switch to disable Find My iPhone in Settings.

How Do I Disable Activation Lock if I Don’t Know the Apple ID Password?

If you (or whoever has the Apple ID) don’t know the password to the Apple ID account that is tying the iPhone up with the iCloud Lock, you (or them) will need to reset the password associated with the account. This is also easy, it’s just a matter of answering a few questions to confirm the identity of the account holder first.

How To Access And Share Icloud Drive Files On Iphone Or Ipad

Many people who own a Mac also use an iPhone. Generally, people will have their phones with them wherever they go, but not their Macs. While you are away from your computer, you may want to view one of your iCloud Drive files or share that file with someone. The introduction of the Files app with iOS 11 in late 2023 has made this easy. This article will go through the steps needed to access and share your files and folders on your iPhone or iPad.

Access iCloud Drive Files on your iPhone or iPad

On your iPhone or iPad, there is a built-in app that gives your access to your iCloud Drive Files. It is called simply Files.

How to find and use the Files app Find and open the Files app

On your iPhone or iPad, look for an app called Files. The icon looks like a blue file folder. If you are having trouble locating this app:

Go to the App Library. Swipe left through all of your Home screens until you get to the App Library. If you see the icon, tap on it. Otherwise, in the search field, type files, then tap on Files to open it.

Navigating the Files app

At the bottom of the Files app screen, you will see two tabs: Recents and Browse.

If you are looking for a file that you have recently created or opened, you can find it in Recents.

You can tap on Browse to explore your files. This is helpful if you know what folder(s) you want to look in. To move up a level in your file/folder tree, tap on the name of the current folder in the upper-left corner of the screen.

To rearrange the file icons or to change to a list view, tap on the three dots button in the top-right corner of the screen.

When you are in the Files app, many files will open with a Quick Look preview when you tap on them. If you want to open the file in another app:

If your file is open in the Quick Look preview in the Files app:

Tap on the Share button in the upper-right or lower-left corner of the screen.

You will see a row of apps above the Copy option. You can scroll left and right through these, then tap on one to select it. If you don’t see your app in the list, tap on More at the far-right of the apps list.

If your file opens in an app that you don’t want to use:

You can get back to the Files app by tapping on arrows near the upper-left corner of your screen or by exiting (swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle), then tap on the Files app again.

From the Files app, press and hold on the file you want until a menu appears.

Tap on Share. You will see a row of apps above the Copy option. You can scroll left and right through these, then tap on one to select it. If you don’t see your app in the list, tap on More at the far-right of the apps list.

You can email or use a messaging app to share a file from Files on your iPad or iPhone.

In the Files app, with the file icon visible, press and hold on the file icon until a menu appears.

Tap on Share.

You can choose from one of the options listed in the first row. It includes nearby devices for AirDrop and some of your most frequent contacts. You can also choose an app from the second row. Ipad To Apple Tv, Mac Or Windows Pc

Airplay Mirroring is a fantastic feature of iOS present on the iPhone and iPad. It lets you mirror your iOS screen’s device, and basically everything that you do on it, to an Apple TV or a Mac computer. This turns out to be a incredibly useful feature while doing presentations and demos, creating screencasts or videos, or if you just want to showcase your iPad/iPhone photos on a bigger screen.

And the best past: Airplay Mirroring is incredibly easy to use as long as you have the right setup and software. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s needed and how to use Airplay Mirroring on the iPhone and iPad.

Requirements

1. An iPhone 4S/ iPad 2 or newer, running iOS 5 or any later version of iOS.

2. If you want to mirror to Apple TV: a 2nd gen or 3rd gen Apple TV running software version 5 or later.

3.If you want to mirror to a Mac: OS X Mountain Lion (or later) , a supported Mac, and an app to support mirroring. The list of supported Macs is:

iMac (Mid 2011 or newer)

Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer)

MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer)

MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer)

Two main apps that allow you to mirror your iPhone/iPad screen to a Mac are Reflector  and Air Server . Both of these apps offer free trials, are available for $14.99 for a single user license, and have other licensing packages for multiple users. Both these apps also work on Windows PCs. I tried Reflector for iOS 6 and Air Server for iOS 7, and both seem to be really good.

4. A WiFi network. All devices taking part in the AirPlay Mirroring must be on the same local WiFi network.

Installing Your App

Installing these apps is very easy. Once you purchase (or try) these apps, a file will automatically download onto your PC/Mac. On Macs, the installation is very easy. All you have to do is drag the app into your Mac’s Applications folder, and you’re done. Once you open the app, it will ask you whether you want to try or buy the app. If you choose to try the app, Reflector has a limitation. It will automatically shut down after 10 minutes and will then need to be restarted. Also, after I had used Reflector 2 times, the app started telling me that my trial had expired. Try Air Server, that’s better.

On Windows, installing Reflector is nearly identical, with the only difference being you will need to allow Firewall access for the app.

How To Turn On AirPlay Mirroring On iOS 5 & 6

1. Open up the Multitasking Bar on your iOS device. This can be done by double-tapping the Home button. If you are on a iPad, you can open the multitasking bar by using a swipe up gesture from the bottom bezel, provided you have enabled multitasking gestures in Settings.

2. Now that you can see the multitasking bar, swipe on the recently used apps list from the left to the right. This will need to be done once on an iPad and twice on a iPhone. Swipe until you see the Airplay Mirroring icon.

3. Tap on the Airplay Mirroring icon. This will bring up a popover dialog showing you various devices that are available to mirror to on your WiFi network. Note that you will need to have Reflector or Air Server open on your PC/Mac for the it to be available to mirror to.

4. Tap to select either the Apple TV or the Mac and tap to toggle the Mirroring button below the device name to On.

How To Turn Airplay Mirroring On in iOS 7

1. Open up the Control Centre on your iOS 7 device. This can be done by swiping up from the bottom of the screen on the iPhone as well as the iPad.

3. Select the device you would like to mirror your iOS device’s screen to.

That’s it. This really is a superb feature that’s so easy to use.

How To Share Photos And Videos From Camera To Shared Library On Iphone

iOS 16 introduces a neat little way to share pictures and videos with your friends and family using iCloud Shared Photo Library. When you use this feature, you and other participants can host pictures from a specific date or those with specific people inside a Shared Library where everyone can view, add, and edit content in one place.

While you can transfer any of your existing pictures and videos to the Shared Library, Apple also makes this experience easier by allowing you to transfer pictures you capture directly from the Camera app to the Shared Library. In this post, we’ll help you enable this option for your iOS Camera app and explain how you can capture pictures and videos directly to the Shared Library on iOS 16.

How to enable Shared Library for iOS Camera

Required version: iOS 16 update

In order to share pictures to Shared Library directly from your camera, you need to set up Shared Library first on your iPhone (on iOS 16) and then have Sharing from Camera option enabled inside your Shared Library. If you don’t enable this feature inside your iPhone settings, the Shared Library option won’t show up inside the Camera app.

To enable Sharing from Camera, open the Settings app.

Inside Settings, select Photos.

On the next screen, tap on Shared Library under “Library”.

With Shared Library already turned on, tap on Sharing from Camera from the Shared Library screen.

On the next screen, turn on the Sharing from Camera toggle at the top.

When you enable this, you’ll get additional options to configure this feature. To ensure you only share pictures to the Shared Library on your own from the Camera app, select Share Manually. If you choose Share Automatically, iOS will add the pictures you capture from the Camera automatically whenever it detects you’re with the chosen participants via Bluetooth.

Once you’ve configured the Sharing from Camera option, you can proceed to the next section to capture photos and send them to the Shared Library.

How to share photos and videos to Shared Library directly from Camera

To save photos from your camera to shared library, all you need to do is enable the sharing within camera settings on your iPhone. Here’s how to do it.

Open the Camera app on your iPhone.

Inside the Camera app, tap on the multi-user icon (struck diagonally to indicate that it’s disabled for now) at the top left corner. This will enable the Shared Library mode in the camera app.

Once enabled, the icon will have a yellow background, meaning it is turned on. You will also see the “Shared Library” banner at the top that tells you that any pictures and videos you capture now will be sent saved in the Shared Library, too.

That’s all. With the Shared Library mode enabled, you can start capturing pictures by tapping on the Shutter button as they will be saved with your shared libraries as applicable.

This will also work when recording videos, slow-mo shots, portraits, and panorama pictures.

How to turn off Shared Library when taking pictures

If you’ve been taking pictures to the Shared Library from Camera, you can stop sending your captured content to the Shared Library at any time.

To turn off Shared Library mode inside Camera, open the Camera app on iOS.

When the Camera opens, tap on the multi-user icon at the top left corner.

This will unhighlight this icon and you’ll see a “Personal Library” banner at the top of the screen.

All pictures and videos you capture now will be saved to your Personal Library inside Photos and won’t be shared automatically with participants in your Shared Library.

How to view photos and videos in Shared Library

You can see what photos and videos you have shared with participants in your Shared Library from the Photos app. To check what has been shared until now, launch the Photos app on your iPhone.

Inside Photos, tap on the 3-dots icon at the top right corner. If you’re currently in your Personal Library, you’ll need to tap on the single-user icon instead.

In the overflow menu that appears, select Shared Library.

You’ll now see all the pictures you have shared with others in the Shared Library. You’ll also see the Shared Library icon at the top right corner instead of the 3-dots icon.

That’s all you need to know about capturing photos to Shared Library from Camera on iOS 16.
