UPDF across all platforms is a free PDF editor and converter that provides rich features for Windows, Mac, Android and iOS devices.

This tool can edit text and images and convert your PDF to numerous other formats while using a smart OCR feature.

In this article we outlined all its best features for desktop and mobile users as well.

PDFs are the most popular type of document used by businesses and organizations. And here, we’re going to talk about an editor that makes it all a lot simpler: UPDF across all platforms.

Everyone is using PDF documents because they have a modern design, they can be standardized and, most of all, they are secure.

Besides being supported on all platforms, UPDF is free and comes with a simple interface that makes creating and editing PDFs easier.

What are the best features of UPDF? 1. Edit text and image in PDF

Of course, for text, you may also choose a font from the hundreds available, the alignment, the style, and even the color.

Adding or deleting images is now restricted to the Mac version of UPDF only, but image editing is coming also for the Windows version very soon.

With this feature, you will even be able to crop, extract, replace and rotate the images.

2. Convert PDF to other formats

Another important feature of UPDF is that you can save the PDF in PDF/A format or export it in many other formats.

You will be able to save it as Word, Excel, CVS, RTF, TXT, image, XHL, or HTML formats. And for the image option, you can choose from BMP, JPG, PNG, TIFF, and GIF formats.

That will help tremendously when you have a PDF that was scanned because this way you will have a perfectly readable and editable document at the end of the conversion.

3. Annotate PDF

UPDF also has some excellent collaboration features because you can annotate a PDF in a lot of ways.

This way, you will be able to leave longer text modifications without messing up the document too much.

3. Organize Pages

As you’ve guessed, with UPDF, you may also organize the pages within a PDF document very easily.

That’s how you can insert a new page, replace, delete, extract or split a page or even rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise.

4. Share PDF

After you’re done editing or annotating a document, you don’t need to look all over your PC for it.

There is also the option to create a link for your PDF and only send that for the recipient to view the document directly from his or her browser.

4. UPDF’s best mobile features

Above, we have outlined the best features for the desktop versions but the ones for Android and especially for iOS are even more solid.

For instance, you may add signatures to PDF documents on your iPhone and iPad straight with your pen or finger.

Scan photos, receipts, invoices, business cards, and other documents on the go right from your smartphone. Then, save the scanned files in PDF format to go fully digital.

To top that, it supports Face ID and password to access your UPDF iOS app and inner Security Space to keep your files privately protected against unauthorized access.

On iPhone and iPad, you even benefit from a document management feature. You can use it to open, view, search, copy & paste, delete, rename, compress, move, share and secure PDF documents.

You can even create PDFs from scratch or compress files to zip archives so you can keep or send them easier.

What are the pros of UPDF across all platforms?

As we’ve mentioned above, UPDF is free, but it’s limited to saving changes to one file per day and converting 5 files.

However, for only $29.99 a year, you eliminate all the limitations on any platform, and you will get free updates and upgrades and top customer support.

UPDF also features a nice, modern and simple UI that it’s easy to use by anyone from any device.

And if you encounter any issues, the responsive customer service will help you at any moment.

2 Quick Ways To Insert A Pdf Into Word (With Steps)

If you use Microsoft Word for work, the ability to insert a PDF file into a document can be critical. As a tech writer and software engineer, I find myself using this feature often.

When I have a report created in PDF format from another application, and I need to insert it into a Word document, using this feature can be a time saver. I don’t want to have to re-type all that info in Word.

Thankfully I don’t have to, and neither will you. With a few simple steps, you can easily insert the PDF into your document. Learn how below.

Quick Notes

There are multiple methods you can use to insert a PDF into a Word document.

One quick and simple way is to open the PDF document, select all of the text, copy it, and then paste it into Word.

This method works for some text, but if the PDF has any formatting, you will most likely lose it; it won’t look correct after you paste it into Word. In addition, you can lose data. For these reasons, we don’t recommend this solution.

The other methods are to insert the PDF file or to drag and drop it into your Word doc. I prefer inserting it as an object; I feel like I have more control over where it’s going and how it’s added. We cover both methods below.

To Link or Not To Link

When you use one of the methods below to insert your PDF, you will need to decide whether you want it to be linked to the Word document or not. What does that mean?

Linked

Any changes you make to the PDF will show up in your Word doc; there will be no need to update it every time the PDF changes. Sounds great, right?

The downside? The PDF is not embedded in the actual Word document. Because of this, you will always need to keep a copy of the PDF in the same location where you linked it. If the Word doc cannot find the PDF file, it cannot open and display it.

Unlinked

If you choose not to link, Word will embed the PDF into the Word document. The PDF will be part of the doc; no matter where you send it, copy it or open it, the Word doc will still have the PDF file inside it.

The positive: you don’t have to worry about sending the PDF and the Word document when sharing.

The negative: if you need to make updates to the PDF file, they will not automatically show up in Word. You will need to delete the PDF from the Word document and then re-insert it.

Method 1: Inserting as an Object

Method 1 is the preferred method. It offers a great deal of control and precision.

Note: The screenshots below are from an older version of MS Word. However, the steps remain the same in newer versions of Word.

Step 3: Select “Object” to insert an object.

This option is usually located on the upper-right side of the toolbar. In newer versions of Word, it may only display an icon with a small window in the section called “Text.” Hover your cursor over the icons to identify the one marked “Object.”

Step 4: Select the “Create From File” Tab.

Once the object window comes up, you will see two tabs. Select the one labeled “Create From File.”

Step 5: Select your PDF file.

Step 6: Select your options.

If you wish to insert the PDF as a link (as discussed above), check the “Link to File” checkbox.

Method 2: Drag-and-Drop

The drag-and-drop method is simple, but there’s a downside: you don’t have a lot of control over how the PDF is inserted.

The PDF will be unlinked; depending on the version of Word you’re using, it will drop in as an icon or as the document itself. I have an old 2010 version of Word which puts in the entire PDF. When I tried it in Word 365, however, it showed only an icon.

The following are the steps for the drag-and-drop method. I am using an older version of Word on a Windows 7 machine, so yours may look different. However, the steps are performed in the same manner in newer versions of Word.

Step 1: Scroll to the location in the Word document where you want to insert the PDF.

Step 2: Open Windows File Explorer and navigate to the PDF you wish to insert.

Step 3: Select the PDF and Drag it into the Word Document.

Once it is in the place you desire, release the left mouse button, and the PDF will get placed in that spot.

If you run into any issues with how the PDF is presented, you can always delete it from the doc and re-insert it.

That wraps up this tutorial article. I hope you find it helpful. As always, let me know if you have any issues trying to insert a PDF into a Word document.

How To Combine Seo & Content For Bigger Wins

Companies of all sizes – from SMBs to large enterprises – need a cohesive approach to truly dominate the digital marketing front.

If you want to achieve online success, aligning your SEO and content marketing strategies is crucial.

But how exactly can it be done?

On November 15, I had the pleasure of moderating a sponsored SEJThinkTank webinar presented by ScribbleLive‘s Christopher Hart and Chris Trappe. Hart and Trappe talked about how companies can make their SEO and content teams work together to score bigger marketing wins. Here is a recap of the webinar presentation.

Understanding Today’s Customer-Driven World

We live in a customer-driven world. Users are now in control of their buying decisions. Their journeys are much more dynamic and, at times, complicated.

Communication has evolved throughout the years.

In the 1980s, broadcast media was the main source of information and entertainment for most people.

The development of Internet 1.0 in the 1990s added new, interesting means for tech-savvy individuals to acquire data and communicate with others.

By the 2000s, mobile technology has fully grown and eventually paved the way for the development of social networks.

Today, it is more about great content experiences across various channels that relate to the end user. Wherever your consumers are, that’s where you need to be.

The Importance of Content Experiences

Content experiences fuel the new demands of marketing.

The more relevant your content is, the better it is for your brand. Therefore, you need to target your customers at the right time, with the appropriate content, when it matters to them.

According to a Forrester study, 71 percent of buyers begin their purchase journeys by using a search engine. This is why optimizing your brand’s web presence is essential.

On the other hand, the average B2B purchase group involves about five stakeholders – each of whom has different content needs that you need to fulfill.

When competing on content experiences, you need to be:

Data-driven

Strategic

Relevant

Engaging

Omnichannel

“We believe content is the fourth dimension of competition and the key differentiation opportunity for today’s enterprise,” Hart said.

Owning the Journey

You need to know which types of content to produce for your users. Prospective customers typically consume a wide array of content as they go through the buyer’s journey.

Interacting with your customers doesn’t end when they purchase your product or service. At this point, you have the opportunity to keep them loyal members of your community by providing additional content that will keep them engaged.

How to Get Bigger Marketing Wins Breaking Down Internal Silos

Companies face internal obstacles that hamper efficient collaborations. Employees and teams may not have the right tools, structures, and systems in place to work together, leading to a poor, disjointed content marketing performance.

Likewise, brands face the challenge of keeping all content up to date, but they don’t have complete data when they need it. Long ramp times also don’t help.

The key is to increase efficiencies.

Do away with individual marketing channels being the thought process.

Instead, collaborate across different teams to take the expertise that each individual has. Break down the tribal knowledge and apply it to multiple disciplines.

Building & Monetizing Audiences Through Content

The ideal way to go about this is to incorporate a data-driven strategy and integrate the channels you use in your workflow. If you produce content that adds value to and encourages engagement with your audience, they will be able to build a relationship with your brand.

The opportunity to monetize will follow.

More Effective User Engagement

Engaging your users would not be possible if the social experience is out of context. This brings us back to the beginning stages of creating the content strategy. A lack of central strategy will leave key stakeholders out of the loop and produce limited content that doesn’t speak well to the audience.

In contrast, if you ensure that key stakeholders are all in the loop and there is an existing, data-driven central strategy that drives consistent content and messaging, you can maximize your audience reach and engagement. Your users will have consistent content experiences across all channels, consequently eliminating confusion and disconnect.

A Better Way to Create Content

Whether you have an internal content team or you’re outsourcing this process to freelancers or agencies, we all know that content development and production can take up so much time and resources.

If you’re looking for a better and more efficient way to create content, you might want to consider using a content experience platform. Software and talent are indispensable parts of the mix that will help you maximize and streamline the creative process.

Key Takeaways

Competing on content experiences entails being data-driven, strategic, relevant, engaging, and omnichannel.

You don’t have to create more content, you just have to create better content. Better content is focused and relevant to your end users.

Having a data-driven central strategy is crucial to maximizing your audience reach and engagement. The goal is to implement cohesive content and messaging across various marketing channels so that your end users have a consistent and engaging content experiences.

Using a content experience platform can streamline your content creation process. If you want a better way to develop and produce content, look for a software provider that has powerful features and can help your company be efficient, scale and get results.

How To Delete Documents And Data On Iphone And Ipad

“Documents and Data” — what is it? Why does it take up so much storage space on your iPhone and iPad? How do you get rid of it?

We’ll cover everything you need to know on how to delete Documents and Data on your iPhone and iPad.

What is Documents and Data on iPhone and iPad?

Simply put, it’s your browser history, cookies, logs, caches of photos and videos, database files, and other data piled up by your apps.

Neglect to clear it regularly, and it’ll run rampant in your device’s storage. The total file size of Documents & Data can even supersede the actual size of the associated apps!

Why do apps need to cache data?

They store caches to enhance your user experience. For instance, when you search anything in Safari, the web browser keeps a record of it to allow you to access it instantly next time. Likewise, YouTube keeps a record of your watch history to recommend the type of videos that you like watching.

Now that you know what Documents and Data is, you may like to know about “Other” which takes up quite a lot of storage.

According to Apple, “Other” data is non-removable mobile assets. It includes Siri voices, fonts, dictionaries, Keychain and CloudKit Databases, Spotlight index, system data, and other non-removable logs and caches.

We’ve already covered an excellent post that shows you how to remove Other data from the iPhone. Make sure to check it out!

How to check iPhone or iPad Documents and Data storage

You can see your iPhone’s storage by opening Settings → General → iPhone Storage.

However, to see Documents and Data, you need to connect your iPhone to a Mac or PC.

Launch Finder (on macOS Catalina and later) or iTunes (other Macs and Windows PC). Trust the computer if prompted. At the bottom, you’ll see a bar that shows the iPhone’s storage space. Hover your mouse pointer over different colors to reveal the name and space occupied by that category.

Here you can see how much space Documents and Data occupies on your iPhone.

How to delete Documents and Data on iPhone and iPad

Delete Documents and Data of individual apps

The easiest and most-effective way to clear Documents and Data for an app is to uninstall it. Later, restart your iPhone and reinstall the app.

However, this means data that isn’t backed up to iCloud or other cloud storage will be deleted. For example, if you uninstall WhatsApp without backing up your data, all messages and media will be deleted.

Note: When you uninstall and reinstall an app, you automatically get the latest version.

To uninstall an app: Open Settings → General → iPhone Storage → tap on an app → tap Delete App and confirm.

If you don’t wish to remove the data from an app, but still want to free some space, check out how to offload it.

Delete Documents and Data from Files

Open Files and tap Browse.

Tap Recently Deleted and tap More (three dots.)

Now, tap Select then choose Delete All. Tap done. This will empty Files’ “Trash” Documents and Data.

Next, tap On My iPhone under Locations. Select the files you don’t need and choose Delete. After you clear a few unnecessary files, make sure to remove them from Recently Deleted again.

Clear the Documents and Data of specific apps from iCloud

How about removing saved data from specific apps from iCloud? You can prevent your precious iCloud storage from becoming cluttered for space by getting rid of redundant files. Keep in mind; it will wipe out all the data from the cloud and connected devices. And it can’t be undone.

Open Settings and tap on your Apple ID banner at the top of the screen.

Tap iCloud → Tap Manage Storage.

Tap on an app and then tap Delete Data. Confirm your action. You can repeat the process with other apps

That’s how you can delete the data of individual apps from all of your devices synced with the same iCloud account.

Tip: Only allow selected apps to store their data in iCloud. This will help you manage your storage in a better way.

Delete Safari Documents and Data on iPhone

Safari consumes significant space, and thus clearing the website data, history, reading lists, etc. will free up significant space. Let me show you how to:

Clear History, Website Data, and Cookies Data: Open Settings and tap Safari. Scroll down and tap Clear History and Website Data. Finally, tap Clear History and Data.

Reading List: If you tend to save several webpages offline to the Reading List, it might be consuming substantial space. To delete your Safari Reading List, open the app and tap the open book icon. Next, tap the glasses icon. Finally, tap Edit, choose the items and tap Delete.

In most cases, it’ll be iCloud Drive or On My iPhone.

Clear Documents and Data from Messages

If you use iMessage a lot, chances are the app is consuming plenty of storage space. You’ll be glad to know that iOS makes it incredibly simple to view how much storage photos, videos, and GIFs are taking up.

Therefore, you can choose to keep and delete data based on your need. To do so:

Open Settings → Tap General.

Tap iPhone/iPad Storage → Tap Messages.

Under Documents & Data, head to the respective section and then tap Edit.

Select the data you want to delete and then tap on the trash icon to remove it.

Get rid of unused Documents and Data from Mail

Open Settings → Tap Passwords & Accounts.

Tap on an email account.

Tap Delete Account and confirm.

Once you’re done, restart your device. After that, follow the steps above and tap Add Account to re-add it.

Clear Voicemail data

It turns out that all of your voicemails contribute to the “Documents and Data” part of the Phone app. Make sure to delete unwanted voicemails regularly to ensure they don’t clutter your device’s storage.

Phone app → Voicemail → Select the voicemail → Now, tap on it or swipe right to left to reveal the Delete button → tap on the Delete button.

To delete multiple voicemails, open the Phone app → Voicemails → tap Edit → select the voicemails → tap Delete.

Remove played and downloaded podcasts

Even if you haven’t used Podcasts recently, but you’ve subscribed to shows and enabled automatic download of new episodes, it may be occupying a lot of space without your knowledge. Make sure you delete them.

Clear more data and follow Apple recommendations

Open Settings and tap General. Next, tap iPhone Storage. If you see anything under RECOMMENDATIONS, make sure you read it properly. If the recommendations apply to your situation, tap Enable.

Next, scroll down and tap On My iPhone. If it’s occupying substantial space, tap On My iPhone. Next tap Edit and then the red minus icons. Finally, tap Delete.

Wrapping Up…

This is how you can clear Documents and Data on iPhone and iPad.

Additionally, restarting your device and force restarting (they’re not the same thing) may also clear the iPhone cache, and even reduce the size of Documents and Data. Make a habit of restarting your iPhone at least once a week

At last, you may also like to look at these excellent helpful related posts to make the most of your iPhone storage.

Extra Info: You may also wonder what “System” under iPhone Storage is. Well, it’s the space occupied by the actual operating system (iOS.) It varies according to the device and iOS version. You can’t modify it in any way.
