If you’re using Windows 10 Technical Preview builds or the stable Windows 10 OS versions, you may experience a lot of bugs. The system is work on progress as Microsoft always tries to create better OS versions.

What to do if apps and programs crash when you open File Explorer

Solution 1: Update your computer

Windows 10 doesn’t work the same way on every computer. For example, while some users have problems with Start Menu, others are having problems with sound in Windows 10, etc.

Luckily Microsoft is working hard to provide solutions for most users’ problems in Windows 10. So, try to reach for the Update section and see if Microsoft prepared some solution for this.

Also, you can download ISO image from Microsoft’s website and repair your current system. You can do this if you-re using Windows other than Windows 10, as well, just use your system installation disk to repair your system and see if the problem is gone. But don’t perform a fresh installation of Windows, because all your files and software will be deleted.

Solution 2: Run the Windows Troubleshooter

You can also try to run some of Windows’ built-in features for solving problems, like the Windows Troubleshooter. Windows Troubleshooter will help you to determine if your program is compatible with Windows 10. So if your program isn’t compatible with Windows 10, it could cause File Explorer to crash. To run Windows Troubleshooter, do the following:

Go to Search, type troubleshooter and open Find and fix problems

Go to Programs and then to Program Compatibility Troubleshooter

Select the program which causes File Explorer to crash

Let the Troubleshooter check for solutions.

Solution 3: Run SFC scan

Another powerful (maybe even more than Troubleshooter) tool for solving Windows problems is sfc/scannow command. It will completely scan your computer for errors and provide appropriate solution. To run this command do the following:

Go to Search, type cmd and open Command Prompt

Type sfc/scannow in the command line and press Enter

Wait until the process is finished

Solution 4: Run the Windows Store App troubleshooter

If this problem affects only Windows Store apps, then you need to run Windows 10’s built-in Windows Store App troubleshooter.

Select and run the troubleshooter as shown in the screenshot below

Solution 5: Fix corrupted user profile

Your apps and programs may crash because your user profile got corrupted. For more information on how to fix this problem, check out this troubleshooting guide. If the problems persists, go ahead and create a new user profile.

Make Windows 10 File Explorer Look Like Windows 7 File Explorer

Back in Windows 8 Microsoft modified the look and feel of the File Explorer with new icons, new features, ribbon menu, etc. In fact, they even changed the name from Windows Explorer to File Explorer, which makes a lot of sense. Obviously, there are some who don’t like the new File Explorer style. If you really like the Windows 7 style File Explorer or just hate the ribbon menu in the new File Explorer, you can easily modify the look and feel of the File Explorer to mimic the Windows 7 style. Here is how you can do that.

Make File Explorer Look Like Windows 7 File Explorer

Note: we are going to use a third-party software to modify the file explorer. Before making any changes, make sure that you back up your system. This helps you to revert back if anything bad happens.

In the Options window select the option “This PC” from the drop-down menu next to “Open File Explorer to.”

Once you are done with thi go ahead and download OldNewExplorer. Extract the contents onto your desktop and execute the file “OldNewExplorerCfg.exe.”

After opening the OldNewExplorer, select both checkboxes under the “Behaviour” category. The first option brings back the Windows 7-style drive grouping so that you no longer see your external or USB drives next to your hard drives, rather they will appear in a separate section.

The second option uses the Libraries, just like in Windows 7, and removes the “Folders” section from the File Explorer.

Under the Appearance section, select all the checkboxes. These options will alter the File Explorer to match the Windows 7 style. You can also select the appearance style and status bar style using the drop-down menu next to them. However, it is recommended that you leave it with the defaults.

This action installs and modifies all the necessary registry entries. Once this is done, you will have your Windows 7-style File Explorer. If you want to you can also remove the Quick Access menu from the left sidebar.

Just like in Windows 7 you will have your classic navigation menu at the top of the window.

If Gameloop is not working, you won’t be able to run Android games on your PC. It kind of defeats the purpose of the app, right?

So, here’s what to do if you’re dealing with a Gameloop website not opening scenario. Run the app as admin in compatibility mode.

Looking for a more easy way out? Then, ditch the Gameloop browser altogether and try a better alternative.

Previously known as Tencent Gaming Buddy, Gameloop is a popular Android emulator specifically developed to allow users to play mobile games on their PCs. But the entire experience can be tainted by the Gameloop browser not working or the Gameloop website not opening.

The emulator has a built-in web browser, which is both lightweight and easy to install. However, the Gameloop browser sometimes may not work due to software glitches or other issues.

As the Gameloop not opening error appears in Windows 11 and other OSs, we can safely assume that these elements are not connected.

What’s more, the very same glitch can be responsible for the Gameloop site not working or the Gameloop website not opening at all. So how to open the browser in Gameloop?

How do I access the browser on Gameloop?

To access the browser on Gameloop, you will need to follow the steps described below:

As you can see, it is straightforward to activate both the Settings and Browser apps inside Gameloop.

Why is Gameloop’s browser not working?

All the answers you seek are waiting for you in the guide below. But, first, find out how to deal with instances where Gameloop is not working, be it the Gameloop browser or other parts.

It seems that some users get blank pages when trying to print webpages from Internet Explorer.

In this article, we list a few solutions that should help fix the problem.

For an extensive list of articles on web browsers, see our Browsers Hub.

Similarly, if you’re having trouble with PC peripherals, see our dedicated Peripherals section.

Struggling with various browser issues? Try a better option: Opera One

You deserve a better browser! Over 300 million people use Opera One daily, a fully-fledged navigation experience coming with various built-in packages, enhanced resource consumption, and great design.

Here’s what Opera One can do:

Optimize resource usage: Opera One uses your Ram more efficiently than Brave

AI and User Friendly: New feature directly accessible from the sidebar

Gaming friendly: Opera GX is the first and best browser for gamers

⇒ Get Opera One

Thousands of users reported that they can’t print pages from Internet Explorer after installing certain Windows updates. More specifically, the printed pages come out blank.

Here’s how one user describes this issue on Microsoft’s forum:

Several of our users got security update KB4022719 last night and are now getting blank pages when printing from our Electronic Medical Records application which relies on Internet Explorer’s printing functionality. The users who did not get this update are not having this problem. Uninstalling the update fixes the problem. I just want to spread the word that this is happening since I can’t find any other way to inform Microsoft.

This problem seems to affect only Internet Explorer 11, as users of Chrome or Edge did not report the problem. As mentioned, the issue appears to caused by some updates in both Windows 7 and Windows 10.

How can I fix blank pages being printed from Internet Explorer? 1. Switch to an alternative browser when printing

This is just a mere workaround but you can also just copy-paste the webpage from one to another browser and print it that way.

If the problem with printing blank pages appears solely on Internet Explorer, you can try and print from an alternative browser.

We recommend using Opera, as this is a faster and more reliable browser. And, who knows, maybe after you’ve used it for a while, you might also consider switching to it for good.

Because Opera comes with a lot of useful features that help to improve your productivity and overall web surfing experience.

Besides the common features that you can find in any browser, Opera offers some exclusive tools such as integrated ad blocker, messenger tools, VPN with unlimited traffic, or battery saver.

Not to mention that you can customize several workspaces or share your browser work between all your devices using a dedicated feature.

Opera

If you’re tired of fixing the errors of your current browser, switch to Opera in no time to benefit from free exclusive features that improve your browsing experience.

2. Uninstall the updates

Type updates in the search bar.

Go to View update history.

Select the Uninstall updates option.

However, if you still want to benefit from the quality improvements brought by these updates, you should keep them.

In this case, follow the rest of the troubleshooting steps listed below.

3. Repair IE 4. Update your printer drivers 5. Disable Protected Mode 6. Relocate your user folders to another drive or location

Close Internet Explorer.

Go to Start and launch  Command Prompt as Administrator.

Type the following command: mkdir %userprofile%AppDataLocalTempLow

Run Command Prompt as Administrator again and, this time, type: icacls %userprofile%AppDataLocalTempLow /setintegritylevel low

Open Internet Explorer, and print some pages. The printed page should come out printed correctly.

We hope that at least one of the solutions listed above helped you fix the print issues affecting Internet Explorer.

How To Fix The Disk Space Bar Missing In File Explorer On Windows 11.

If you are using a Windows 11 PC and have recently noticed that drives in File Explorer no longer show the used space bar. This article will show you several different fixes you can use to solve this problem and restore the used space bar back to drives in File Explorer on Windows 11.

Related: How to fix Windows 11 Update error 0x800706b5 – We’re having trouble restarting to finish the install.

As expected, Windows 11 has just as many weird and random issues as every other Microsoft operating system before it. If you’ve been using Windows 11 since its release, you’ll know exactly what we mean. Missing Taskbar items, VPN connection issues, Start menu alignment problems, and a truckload of others. More recently, however, disk space usage bars have disappeared from File Explorer.

While this issue isn’t all that common for now, some users have reported that certain drives on their Windows 11 computers have stopped showing total disk space usage bars. The bar below/beside the drive icon that shows how much space is being used/is remaining on a specific drive. Although it may affect all drives on your computer, it may also only affect one. Either way, the troubleshooting steps shown below will help you restore the bars on all of your drives.

How do you fix missing disk space bars in File Explorer on Windows 11?

The first thing you do to check and hopefully solve this problem is the View type that is currently set for File Explorer. If it has changed from Tiles to anything else you will lose the disk space bar.

To change the view in File Explorer on Windows 11 open File Explorer.

This will restore the layout of File Explorer to the default layout, restoring the disk space bars for all drives.

Try resetting Folder View.

If folder view settings have randomly changed on Windows 11 (quite common) you can reset them using the following process.

Finally, Restart your computer and the change will take effect.

Make the Drive’s name shorter.

Although this is a rather unlikely solution for this issue, it’s still worth a shot as long Drive names may cause problems with the way icons are displayed in File Explorer on Windows 11.

Now that your drive has been renamed, restart your computer and the change should take effect.

Uninstall the last update to fix missing disk space bars on Windows 11.

More likely than not this issue has been introduced to your system in the latest update you installed, so the obvious solution is to uninstall the last update. Once you have uninstalled the latest update, you will need to pause updates for a while otherwise you’ll just end up with the same problem again. If you aren’t sure how to uninstall an update on Windows 11, you’ll find everything you need to know, including the process in this guide: How to uninstall a bad Windows 11 update. Rollback a Windows 11 update.

How To Use Tabs In File Explorer In Windows 11

The first feature drop for Windows 11 2023 Update Version 22H2 is available now with Cumulative Update (KB5019509). This optional non-security update brings new features which include a Taskbar Overflow menu, Tabbed File Explorer, Suggested Actions, and more. And, in this post, we will talk about how to use Tabs in File Explorer in Windows 11.

Among all these new features, Tabbed File Explorer was a long-awaited feature that users were expecting to get with Windows 11 2023 Update Version 22H2. Now, this feature has finally come with this first feature drop. You can open multiple tabs, scroll the tab list, close tabs, and do more with the new Tabbed File Explorer.

How to use Tabs in File Explorer in Windows 11

In order to use Tabs in File Explorer in Windows 11, first check for updates to get this Cumulative Update (OS Build 22621.675) to enable and get new features, including Tabbed File Explorer. After this, when you will open the File Explorer, it will open with the default Home tab. Now you can add new tabs, switch between the opened tabs, close tabs, and more. Let’s have a look at all the options.

Add new tabs to File Explorer

Switch between File Explorer tabs

Re-arrange opened tabs in File Explorer

Scroll the tab list in File Explorer

Copy files and folders between tabs in File Explorer

Close tabs in File Explorer.

1] Add new tabs to File Explorer

Just like we can open tabs in a web browser, File Explorer also lets you open or add new tabs. So, instead of opening multiple File Explorer windows, you can use tabs to open different folders, drives, etc., to ease your work. For this, you can:

Use Ctrl+T hotkey

Related: Add or Remove Libraries from File Explorer Navigation Pane in Windows 11/10

2] Switch between File Explorer tabs

You can always use your mouse cursor to switch between File Explorer tabs. Along with that, you can:

Use Ctrl+TabNumber to switch from one tab to another tab. For example, if you want to switch to tab number 5, use the Ctrl+5 keyboard shortcut. Tabs don’t have numbers on them, so you need to check the tab position yourself

Use the Ctrl+Tab hotkey to switch between tabs in a sequential order

Press the Ctrl+Shift+Tab hotkey to switch between tabs from right to left (backward).

Along with that, you can also use the left and right arrow keys and then press the Enter key to access a tab.

3] Re-arrange opened tabs in File Explorer

You may need to move or re-arrange opened tabs in File Explorer when you have opened too many tabs in File Explorer. To do this, press and hold a tab using the left mouse button, drag it to the required place, and drop it there to re-arrange or change its position.

Read: How to Share Files and Folders using File Explorer on Windows 11

4] Scroll the tab list in File Explorer

If you can’t see a tab in the tab list when dozens of tabs are opened, then use the Scroll tab list forward icon and Scroll tab list backward icon to scroll tabs. These icons will appear automatically when there are too many tabs in the tab list. You can also use the mouse wheel to scroll tabs and then you can access a tab, re-arrange a tab, etc.

5] Copy files and folders between tabs in File Explorer in Windows 11

This is a handy option using which you can copy multiple files and/or folders from one tab to another tab in File Explorer. For this, first, select a file or folder or multiple files present in the first tab. After that, press and hold the left mouse button to drag the selected files. Move the mouse cursor (don’t release the mouse button yet) to the other tab and that tab will become the active tab, continue moving the mouse cursor to a folder and release the mouse button. This will copy the files from the first tab to the second tab.

6] Close tabs in File Explorer

There are multiple ways to close a single tab or multiple tabs in File Explorer. These are:

Press the Ctrl+W hotkey to close the active tab or current tab

Use the mouse wheel or middle mouse button. You need to double-tab the mouse wheel/button to close a tab

Close other tabs, except the active tab

Close tab option. If you will use this option on a background tab, then it will close that particular tab. Otherwise, it will close the current tab

Close tabs to the right. File Explorer tabs that are present on the right part of the active tab will be closed.

Also read: Best Windows 11 File Explorer Tips and Tricks

Indeed, this Tabbed File Explorer feature is pretty useful. But there are some actions that can’t be performed yet (maybe we can have them in the future).

For example, the tabs feature in File Explorer doesn’t support selecting multiple tabs. We can do that in a browser. All we need to do is press and hold the Ctrl key and then we can select tabs using the left mouse button, but the same is not the case with File Explorer tabs. Also, we can’t move a tab or multiple tabs from one File Explorer window to another using drag-n-drop or another way. However, the feature has come with some really good options and it is surely beneficial to users.

I hope this helps.

PS: If for some reason you want to disable Tabs in File Explorer, you can do so.

Does Windows 11 File Explorer have tabs?

Yes, Windows 11 now support the tabs feature. This feature has come with Cumulative Update (KB5019509), the first feature drop for Windows 11 2023 Update 22H2. Once you get this feature, you can open multiple tabs in a single window of File Explorer, switch between tabs, scroll tab list, and more.

How do I arrange tabs in Windows 11?

If you want to arrange tabs opened in a File Explorer window of Windows 11, then simply drag a tab and drop it in the place of another tab and repeat this process. It doesn’t let you arrange multiple tabs at once. But, you can close multiple tabs, switch from one tab to another, scroll tabs in File Explorer, etc. Read this post that contains detailed information for using tabs in File Explorer in Windows 11.
