It’s been a busy week for the Facebook Ads platform.

The delayed date (originally intended for September) of the Apple iOS14 roll-out hit, causing all kind of trouble for media buyers.

In the midst of it, Facebook updated its Account Quality dashboard, which is tucked inside Business Manager. While the feature itself is not new, it appears Facebook is enhancing to integrate Page-side information along with an upgraded user interface.

Facebook’s Support for Issues

The changes began rolling out on Tuesday of this week, wreaking havoc on reporting dashboards.

Campaign-level insight into conversions and purchases seemed to vaporize overnight, and calculations were wrong or simply no longer there.

Twitter and Slack channels were flooded with frustrated media managers, who were suddenly flying blind on how to manage client’s spend.

Updates like the Account Issues section would normally be a welcome step towards efficiency for higher-volume managers.

But, the timing made it mean very little. Many media managers would gladly forego those types of updates for consistent support, expectation management, and answers from their Facebook reps.

Sources say a fix for this attribution view problem is on the way, but it’s left many wondering whether the left hand is talking to the right. The optics of updating a UI to clarify account issues and disapprovals is in stark contrast to the fact Facebook Ad’s biggest issue often appears to be itself.

Fix Windows Keyboard Language Changes On Its Own In Windows 11/10

In the case of multiple keyboard scenarios, things get tricky. Keyboard language changes on its own because the keyboard changes while you are typing. The fact is that the keyboard changes because we accidentally hit shortcuts like WinKey+Space key (Changes language/keyboard pairs), or Alt+Shift Change language) or lastly Ctrl+Shift (Changes keyboard).  So, if your Windows 11/10 keyboard language changes on its own, there are three ways to resolve it. The first is to make sure Windows doesn’t add keyboards without your permission, and the second is what we are going to talk about next.

Fix Windows 11 keyboard language changes on its own

Type “Switching input methods”. This will open Advanced keyboard settings with this option inside.

Select the checkbox which says “Let me set a different input method for each app window”.

This will make sure that you choose which keyboard is going to be used for which app. Usually, when you change the keyboard when using an app, Windows remembers that so you don’t have to set it up again.

Apart from this, the Advanced keyboard settings page lets you override the default input method which could be different from the first one in your language list.  Lastly, there is a Langage bar option as well which comes in handy to switch between the keyboard rather quickly. In case you have removed it, you can always restore the language bar back.

Change Language Settings under the Administrative Tab

The last one was reported by a forum user with a solution. He reported that the problem occurred for him when he started typing in some programs with non-Unicode characters. Windows will use the default system local language to interpret these characters even if the language is not available in the language bar.

Make sure that all Display language, Input language, and Format are English (United States) or whatever you want to have. If not go back and make those changes.

Mark two checkbox in Copy your current settings to Welcome screen and system accounts & New user accounts

Last but not least, you may want to disable those shortcut combinations which can accidentally change your keyboard settings.

Why Google Needs To Keep Making Its Own Chromebooks

According to The Verge, Google has cancelled its next Pixelbook device, previously slated for release in 2023. But the tech giant has supposedly gone a step further, shutting down the entire team that was working on it. Rather than just one device being abandoned, this suggests we’ll never see another Google-branded Chromebook again.  

If true, it represents a significant U-turn for Google. At its I/O developer conference in May, hardware chief Rick Osterloh indicated that new Pixelbooks were very much in the company’s plans. Google has been hinting at streamlining its hardware division for a while now, but this still comes as a big surprise. 

On the face of it, it’s easy to understand why Google might have come to this decision. Despite creating Chrome OS back in 2011, the company has never really been one of the major players in the Chromebook market. Many people turn to devices from the likes of Acer, Asus, Lenovo and HP, most of which are well received. 

Google has also taken a cautious approach to Pixelbook hardware, with just two devices in total and none since the Pixelbook Go three years ago. A follow-up to 2023’s original would’ve been great, but it’s by no means necessary for the future of Chromebooks. Devices running Chrome OS became more popular than ever after the pandemic began, with Pixelbooks thought to account for a tiny percentage of total sales. 

Despite all this, I firmly believe it would be a mistake for Google to stop making its own Chromebooks. Here are four key reasons why. 

Pixelbooks are among the best Chromebooks you can buy

It might seem obvious, but both Pixelbooks that Google has released are impressive devices. The $999/£999 regular model was an anomaly when it launched five years ago, given the strong link between Chrome OS and budget hardware. 

But Google’s choice of premium materials and a thin and light design helped it stand out from the competition, especially when combined with a 360° hinge. A rather basic software experience compared to Windows 10 was the main thing holding it back, but Chrome OS has improved significantly since. 

Then there was the Pixelbook Go, which remains one of the best Chromebooks you can buy three years after its release. With an excellent display, solid performance and great battery life, it still ticks all the boxes for many people in 2023.

Given that track record, it’d feel like a missed opportunity if Google gives up on Chromebooks now.

Chrome OS is far from exclusive to budget devices these days, but high-end Chromebooks remain rare. Google is one of only a handful of companies to release more expensive machines – it speaks volumes that none are included in our best laptop chart at the time of writing.

Google is also a big enough company that it can take risks with Chromebooks without worrying too much about its bottom line. It feels like only a matter of time before we get a foldable Chromebook – why can’t Google be the firm that makes it happen? 

They’re a significant part of the Google ecosystem 

All major tech brands are keenly aware of the value of an ecosystem of products and services that are all designed to work together. It’s something that’s been effective for Apple, making it very difficult to jump ship to a different product or operating system. 

For Google, the situation is much more complex. Lots of different companies make phones that run its Android software, while Windows remains the dominant operating system on laptops and desktop PCs. 

Google has probably accepted that Chrome OS won’t ever be more popular than Windows, but that’s not a reason to stop making Chromebooks. A Pixel phone already works seamlessly with the Pixelbook – why wouldn’t Google want to make the experience even better?

The company already does this to an extent with its Pixel Buds, with some exclusive functionality reserved for people who own a Pixel handset. The company is also set to return to tablets in 2023, and there’ll presumably be some features that make it more compelling if you already own Google hardware. 

Regardless of their popularity, abandoning an entire product category makes it that bit easier for people to ditch Google hardware completely.  

The Pixelbook is already an established brand 

Google has only ever released four Chromebooks, and just two that were branded as Pixelbooks. But the coverage and attention that all have received speaks volumes. Google is one of the biggest tech companies on the planet, and it can almost guarantee that any new product will get people talking.  

The company will always be known as the creator of Chrome OS, and there’s no sign of it stopping development of the operating system anytime soon. Being in control of both the hardware and software puts Google in an enviable position, allowing it to tailor Chrome OS for each and every Pixelbook device. That’s not something it should give up lightly. 

If Google decides to stop making its own Chromebooks, it’s unlikely to have a significant effect on the company’s revenue or reputation. But I believe it would be a big missed opportunity for Google to fully embrace Chrome OS hardware and help take it to the next level.

As we know, the rate of metal deposition increases with the increase in current density up to a certain limit after which electrolyte surrounding the base metal becomes so much depleted of metal ions that the further increase in the current density does not cause increase in rate of deposition. The use of current density beyond this limit results in the electrolysis of water and liberation of hydrogen on the cathode. This liberated hydrogen on the cathode blankets the base metal that reduces the rate of metal deposition. This phenomenon is known as polarization.

The polarization can be reduced by reversing the current at regular intervals.

Addition of Agents

The addition of acids or other substances to the electrolyte decreases the resistance of the electrolytic solution. Also, some additional agents like gums, dextrose, etc. influence the nature of the deposit. The nuclei of the crystal absorb the additional agents added in the electrolyte. This prevents its large growth and hence the deposition will be fine grained.

Throwing Power

Throwing power is the ability of the electrolyte to produce uniform deposit on an article of irregular shape. As the distance between the various potions of the cathode and anode will be different because of irregular shape of the cathode. Therefore, it is necessary that the electrolyte should have relatively better throwing power so that uniform deposit can be produced.

The throwing power of an electrolyte can be increased in two ways as −

By increasing the distance between the anode and cathode.

By reducing the voltage drop at the cathode surface.

The case – In 2023, it was reported that Google’s object recognition software, which is based on machine learning algorithms, was found to have higher error rates when identifying images of people with darker skin tones compared to those with lighter skin tones. Case 3: Does Amazon AI not Like to Hire Women?

The case – Amazon’s AI-powered hiring tool was an automated system designed to evaluate job candidates based on their resumes and recommend the most qualified candidates for a given position. The tool used machine learning algorithms to analyze resumes and to score candidates based on various factors, such as their education, work experience, and skills. However, it was found that the tool was biased against women in several ways.

One way in which the tool was biased was that it downgraded resumes that contained the word “women’s,” such as “women’s studies” or “women’s rights.” This suggests that the tool may have been programmed to view references to women’s issues as negative or less desirable and to score candidates with such references lower than others.

The bot was designed to provide information and guidance to the public about the virus and was made available through the government’s website and social media channels.

However, it was later discovered that the bot was providing misinformation and incorrect guidance on a number of topics related to COVID-19. For example, the bot was found to be recommending the use of certain unproven treatments for the virus, such as inhaling steam, and was also found to be providing inaccurate information about the transmission and severity of the virus.

What went wrong? There are a few potential reasons why the bot may have provided misinformation and incorrect guidance. There were two occupants in the self-driving car at the time of the collision, both of whom were Google employees. One of the occupants sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision and was treated at a local hospital. There were no injuries to the bus driver or any passengers on the bus.

What went wrong? According to Google, the self-driving car that was a Lexus RX450h SUV was traveling at a speed of around 2 mph when the collision occurred. The car’s sensors had detected the bus approaching the adjacent lane, but its software incorrectly determined that the bus would yield to the car as it changed lanes. How Can We Have More Reliable AI?

The present-day AI is certainly reliable, isn’t it? And countless examples stand in support of this. However, when it comes to building a large and public implementation of models that heavily affect the citizens, AI scientists and engineers need to be more careful.

It starts by clearly defining the goals and objectives of the AI model – what it is intended to do and how it is used.

Training data should be diverse and representative of the population that the AI model will be used on. This will help to reduce bias in the model and improve its performance on a wider range of inputs.

Regularly monitoring and testing the AI model using several evaluation metrics is most important. This could include testing the model on different data types, using different evaluation metrics, and comparing the model’s performance to other models.
