Suggested January 2024 Ckcounter Displays The Number Of Messages In Your Texting Conversations

Chances are a lot of you use your Messages app on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad to keep in touch with others via iMessage or SMS.

If curiosity has ever struck you as to how many messages have been sent back and forth in each conversation you have sitting in your message list, then you might find interest in a new free jailbreak tweak called CKCounter.

Keeping count of your messages

CKCounter is a simple jailbreak tweak that lets you keep track of how many messages were sent back and forth in each conversation. The tweak is compatible with iMessage conversations, as well as SMS conversations, and it counts both outgoing and incoming messages in the totals it displays.

As shown above, the total number of messages in a conversation is displayed to the right of the name of the person you are messaging.

A degree of customizability

CKCounter displays the number in black by default, but the tweak is customizable. You’ll find a preferences pane in the Settings app dedicated to the tweak, in which you can pick a new color for the counter number that will be displayed by individuals’ names.

Because the tweak uses a color picker, rather than a pre-defined list of colors to choose from, you get an infinite number of colors to pick from without limitations, which is sort of nice from a customization perspective. No respring is required after you change the color of your counters; the effects will take place immediately.

Here’s an example of red-colored counters instead of black:

My thoughts on CKCounter

CKCounter is an interesting tweak, but it offers a niche feature for a select few individuals who are going to want it. It is definitely very cool to be able to see what conversations of your are the most active by being able to see how many messages are sent back and forth in each conversation, but at the same time, not everyone is going to need to see these stats.

Putting myself in the shoes of the people who like seeing this kind of information at their fingertips, it’s definitely well-made and includes good user customization. I like that the counter is placed just to the right of the name of the person the conversation is with, as this makes it nice and easy to distinguish who each number pertains to.

Another benefit is the tweak is a free download; it’s something you can meander into Cydia to find, and try out without any strings attached. If you end up not liking it, you can always remove the tweak and move on with your day without having lost out on even a cent.

If I could offer any constructive criticism about the tweak, it would be that I’d like an option to let users filter these counters such that they only display a count for sent messages or for received messages, in addition to displaying a count for both as it does by default.

Wrapping up

If you want to give the CKCounter jailbreak tweak a try, you can download it for free right now from Cydia’s BigBoss repository. Fortunately, the jailbreak tweak is compatible with both iOS 8 and iOS 9 devices, so no real bottlenecks exist for compatibility.

How To Delete Your Telegram Messages And Conversations From Someone Else’S Telegram Account.

Learn how to permanently delete a message or entire conversation from Telegram. Gone are the days where messages were only removed from your end of the conversation. Now they will be removed from the entire chat history, even if you’ve missed the old 48-hour deletion window.

How to Use Quoted Replies in Facebook Messenger.

Just like most other chat applications Telegram has long had the ability for users to delete chat content from there devices and the devices of others, so long as the action was taken within the first 48 hours of the message being sent. Now 48 hours is a generous amount of time for a message to be deleted, but it isn’t quite as useful as being able to delete a message or even entire chat whenever you need to.

In an effort to improve Telegram’s privacy reputation even further, Telegram have upgraded the message and conversation removal process. The “Unsend” (delete sent messages) feature now allows users to remotely delete private chat sessions from all devices involved, not just from your device. Once done, the messages will disappear for your device and everyone else within the chat without leaving a trace. Officially Telegram’s blog post states: “You can also delete any private chat entirely from both your and the other person’s device with just two taps.”

How Do You Delete Messages in Telegram Permanently From All Users Devices Not Just Your Own?

If you’re completely new to the idea of removing messages or conversations from Telegram, the process is super easy and will now remove all messages or conversations instantly, without leaving a trace on any participants device. For this to work, however, you’ll need to make sure you have updated your Telegram app to the latest version. Once you have done so, simply open the app and decide if you wish to remove a message or a conversation.

If you wish to remove a conversation tap and hold a conversation you wish to remove then select Delete. When the option appears to remove the conversation from the other user’s device tick the box and confirm the deletion. If you only wish to remove a message enter a conversation and repeat the exact same process on an individual message. Once you have confirmed the deletion process, you’ll have a few seconds to undo the option using the option at the bottom of the screen. If you miss this tiny 5-second window, the data you are deleting is gone forever, with no way to restore it.

Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 Has One Of The Best Tablet Displays Ever Seen

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 breaks a number of tablet display performance records, including consuming a surprisingly meager amount of power for its size, display expert Ray Soneira says.

The SP4 also improves considerably over the Surface Pro 3, which also had a well-regarded display, in almost every way, Soniera concluded in a report released on Tuesday. It also has the most accurate on-screen colors of any tablet display that he has ever measured, he wrote:

“[T]he Surface Pro 4 has one of the very best and most accurate displays available on any mobile platform and OS. It joins near the top of a small set of tablets that have excellent top tier displays – ideal for professionals that need a very accurate high performance display for their work, and for consumers that want and appreciate a really nice and beautiful display.”

Why this matters: Your eye can usually tell you what makes for a pleasing display, even if you might not be able to put your finger on what, if anything, is lacking. The fact that the SP4’s display is quite color-accurate should reassure graphics professionals looking for a tablet to take on the road. As we noted in our Surface Pro 4 review, however, we would have still liked the SP4’s battery life to have improved over the previous generation, especially given the display’s lower power consumption.

Surprisingly low power

Interestingly, the Surface Pro 4’s 12.3-inch display requires just 4.8 watts to drive 267 pixels per inch across 69.8 square inches of screen area. That’s 57.8 percent of the power needed to drive the 8.3 watts used by the Apple iPad Air 2, which uses a slightly lower-resolution 264 ppi display at a much smaller 45.2 square inches. (In fairness, Soneira has yet to test an iPad Pro.)

According to Soneira’s tests, the Surface Pro 3 also rated as “one of the very best and most accurate displays available on any mobile platform and OS.” But the SP4 improves upon it in just about every metric: maximum brightness, contrast ratio, absolute color accuracy, viewing angle performance, and even lower screen reflectance, which results in much better performance in ambient light.

Here’s what Soneira found: the SP4’s screen brightness is 436 nits, very good for a large tablet but lower than most smartphones and smaller tablets. But the black luminance is just 0.31 nits (the ideal would be zero, or “true” black). In all, the true contrast ratio is 1406, Soneira found.

Ray Soneira

Soneira’s sRGB / Rec.709 reference colors plot for the Surface Pro 4.

Where Apple’s tablets do better than the Surface Pro 4 is their performance in ambient light, due to an anti-reflective coating Apple applied. The measured screen reflectance for the SP4 was 5.6 percent, while the iPad Air 2 has a a 2.5 percent reflectance. Under bright light, the contrast rating for the SP4 is 78 (28 percent better than the SP3) but still less than the 166 contrast ratio the iPad Air 2 notches.

Soneira also noted that, like all LCDs, you’ll notice a fairly sharp drop off in display performance the further off you view the display from a “true” viewing angle in line with your eyes.

As far as color accuracy is concerned, the SP4’s display has an average color error of a mere 1.9 JNCD, with the blue color just slightly over saturated. (Any Display Color Error less than 3 JNCD on a display is not visually noticeable and appears perfectly accurate to the eye, Soneira wrote.)

How To Find The Serial Number For Your Hard Drive

How To Find The Serial Number For Your Hard Drive Get Serial Number Of Hard Drive Using WMIC Tool

If you have gathered system information previously in the past, like model number, manufacturer name and other hardware details then you may be well aware of WMIC tool. If not then we would like to tell you that WMIC that stands for Windows Management Interface Command, is an inbuilt Windows command tool that helps you to find the information of a system you are currently working on.

To find the serial number of hard drive using WMIC tool on your Windows 10 computer follow the steps below:

2. Now on the Command Prompt screen, type wmic diskdrive get serialnumber and hit Enter key of your keyboard.

As we stated earlier this tool helps you to get other hardware details. So, a slight change in the command will help you fetch the manufacturers name, model number etc. for your hard drive.

Note: Some users have also reported that running the above listed command does not display the information of the serial number for the hard drive. Then it means that the computer manufacturer has not saved the information to BIOS/UEFI Firmware.

But you need not to worry as there are other methods to find the serial number of the hard disk that we will discuss further.

Find Serial Number of Hard Drive Using Windows PowerShell

PowerShell is another Windows tool that will help you to find the serial number of the hard drive attached to your computer.

3. Now press the Enter Key on your keyboard.

4. You will now be presented with the information about the serial number along with the Tag name for the hard drive of your computer.

You can also get the Tag number from Disk Management screen.

Get Serial Number from the Label Attached on Hard Drive

If you do not find yourself comfortable with running the above listed commands then you have another option to get the serial number for the hard drive with a manual method.

However, to use this method you have to put in some physical work, i.e. open the back panel of your laptop or the cabinet in case you are using a PC.

Take a screwdriver to open the screws on the back panel of your laptop. Once done you will find the label that is attached to the hard drive. The serial number on the drive should be like

S/N: XXXXXXXX

Note: The place where the serial number is mentioned will vary from the model of hard drive you are using. Like in some models it is mentioned at top left, in some models it is mentioned at middle right corner and so on. Also the additional information like manufacture name, size of the hard disk can also be found along with serial number. The amount of information will also vary from the model of the hard drive attached to your computer or laptop.

Scan QR Code to Find the Serial Number of Hard Drive

It may be possible that the label attached on the hard drive is torn out or unreadable, then to get the serial number you can scan the QR code printed on the label.

The information you get by scanning the QR code is 100% authentic as each QR code is unique in itself and is connected with the serial number of the drive.

A user can easily scan this QR code to get the information about the genuineness and warranty of the product.

Haskell Program To Count Number Of Digits In An Integer

In this tutorial, we discuss writing a program to count the number of digits in an integer in the Haskell programming language.

In this tutorial, we see three ways to implement a program to count digits in Haskell.

Program to count the number of digits in an integer.

Program to count the number of digits in an integer using if-else.

Program to count the number of digits in an integer using the length function.

Algorithmic Steps

Take input or initialize a variable for an integer.

Implement the program logic to count the digits in an integer.

Print or display the count.

Example 1

Program to count the number of digits in an integer

-- function declaration -- function definition -- base case countDigits 0 = 0 countDigits n = 1 + countDigits (div n 10) main :: IO() main = do -- declaring and initializing a variable number let number = 123 -- invoking the function countDigits and printing the returned integer print ("number of digits in the number " ++ (show number) ++ " is:") print (countDigits number) Output "number of digits in the number 123 is:" 3

In the above program, we declared a function countDigits as such it takes an integer as an argument and returns an integer. In its function definition, we are accepting an integer argument n and returning 1 addition with a recursive call to itself with argument n divided with 10. The calls are invoked until the base case is attained in which the argument is 0. In this case, the function returns 0. I.e this function counts the number of digits in an integer. In the main function, we declared and initialized a variable number. Finally, we invoked the function countDigits and printed the returned output using the print function.

Example 2

Program to count the number of digits in an integer using if-else.

-- function declaration -- function definition then 1 + countDigits (div n 10) else 0 main :: IO() main = do -- declaring and initializing a variable number let number = 123 -- invoking the function countDigits and printing the returned integer print ("number of digits in the number " ++ (show number) ++ " is:") print (countDigits number) Output "number of digits in the number 123 is:" 3

In the above program, we declared a function countDigits as such it takes an integer as an argument and returns an integer. In its function definition, we are taking an integer argument n. If the value of n is greater than 0, return a recursive call to itself with argument n divided by 10 added with 1. If the value is zero we are returning zero. I.e this function counts the number of digits in an integer. In the main function, we declared and initialized a variable number. Finally, we invoked the function countDigits and printed the returned output using the print function.

Example 3

Program to count the number of digits in an integer using the length function.

-- function declaration -- function definition countDigits n = d where str = show n d = length str main :: IO() main = do -- declaring and initializing a variable number let number = 123 -- invoking the function countDigits and printing the returned integer print ("number of digits in the number " ++ (show number) ++ " is:") print (countDigits number) Output "number of digits in the number 123 is:" 3

In the above program, we declared a function countDigits as such it takes an integer as argument and returns an integer. In its function definition, we are taking an integer argument n. We are parsing the number n into a string using the function show and loading it into a variable str. We invoked the function length with argument str and loaded the returned output into a variable d which is returned by the function. The function length is a list function that returns the count of elements in a list. As the strings in Haskell are lists of characters, all list functions can be used on strings. I.e this function counts the number of digits in an integer. In the main function, we declared and initialized a variable number. Finally, we invoked the function countDigits and printed the returned output using the print function.

Conclusion

In this tutorial, we discussed three ways to implement a program to count the number of digits in the Haskell programming language.

Texting While Driving: Should Phones Be Inoperable In Cars?

The Journal of the American Medical Association has noticed this as well in a published essay. While their obvious goal is the safety of everyone, their solution just isn’t very practical at this point. The authors are suggesting that cellphones should be rendered inoperable when they are inside a motor vehicle.

Map of the United States showing states with texting while driving laws. States in red ban texting while driving for all drivers, while states in yellow do so only for new drivers.

While it’s obvious that a change needs to be made, that hard of a stance is going too far to eliminate texting while driving. There are laws in most states to guard against the practice, but it obviously isn’t enough, as it still goes on. A 2010 report claimed that each day fifteen people were killed and 1200 injured because of a distracted driver. Each. Day. Clearly texting while driving is a practice that needs to be eliminated. And let’s not forget the other distractions on smartphones such as games, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.

Yet, what the two gentlemen at the AMA who made this recommendation are forgetting is that cell phones being turned on and operable in your car actually do a lot of good. Forgetting the fact that they can help you out with the GPS if you get lost and save you a great amount of time by being able to connect to people on the spot with a quick phone call to find out the meeting place has changed, phones can also call for help. Those 1200 injured people needed help. How did they find it? By calling on their cell phone, or having a passerby do the same.

We can do some very amazing things with technology, and it would certainly be within the realm of what is currently out there to find a way to just disable everything but necessary functions. It’s important. It’s a matter of life and death, and that means for either texting while driving or being in an accident and not having access to emergency care via a phone.
