We’re working around the clock at 9to5Toys to bring you all of the best deals. Head below for our favorite Apple Black Friday offers and more.

What to expect on Black Friday

We’ve already combed through all of the Black Friday ad leaks in the lead up to Thanksgiving week. You can see all of our favorite upcoming Apple Black Friday deals here and check out our 10 most anticipated offers slated to arrive this week.

The official Apple Black Friday promotion has now launched, and it’s frankly not very good. Apple Black Friday at retail locations consists of various gift card offers but nothing that particularly stands out. You’re much better off shopping our Apple Black Friday guide for all of the best deals.

Apple Black Friday deals: Mac

After launching an official Amazon storefront earlier this month, Amazon was amongst the first to get in the mix with various MacBook and iMac price drops. You can currently save up to $300 on the latest MacBook Pros along with deals on 12-inch MacBooks.

Apple’s 27-inch Retina 5K iMac is also getting a hefty discount at Amazon by $200 in various configurations. Best of all? Each of these listings are Prime shipping eligible.

Those looking at the latest MacBook Air models in their Apple Black Friday shopping will want to head over to B&H where we’re seeing up to $150 off in addition to tax savings for some shoppers.

B&H is now taking $50 off the latest Mac Mini models with tax benefits for shoppers in select states.

If you’re getting a new Mac, it’s a great time to consider adding a monitor as well.

HP offers up to 57% off for its Black Friday event including up to $370 in instant savings on a range of displays, printers, accessories, PCs and more. That includes many of its popular 4K, widescreen and curved displays. A few of our selections from the sale are below (and pictured above):

OMEN X by HP 35 Curved Display for $799 (Reg. $1,299)

HP ENVY 27 4K UHD 27-inch Display for $449 (Reg. $499)

HP ENVY 34 34-inch Display widescreen for $700 (Reg. $899)

HP 22er 21.5-inch monitor for just $99 (Reg. $149)

More Black Friday Mac deals are slated to be on the way, including deals on the latest Mac mini at MacMall and additional discounts on iMac at Best Buy. Of course, more deals are sure to pop-up throughout Black Friday and we’ll be updating this hub throughout the week.

Our selections:

Apple Black Friday deals: iPad

Amazon got things started early by offering the latest 9.7-inch iPad on sale for $249. Best Buy is now matching that price with the opportunity to save even further on the 32GB model. The 128GB model with LTE is currently $499 or without for $330, which is the best price that we’ve tracked.

Those looking at the latest iPad Pro models may be left out in the cold, aside from MacMall taking $50 off select configurations. The previous generation model is now available for up to $150 off at Best Buy, however late Thursday night Amazon is now taking $155 off select models, making it the lowest price we’ve seen. iPad mini 4 is also marked down to $250 at Best Buy, which is the best price that we’ve ever tracked.

Apple Black Friday deals: Apple Watch

B&H has already rolled out aggressive discounts on the Apple Watch Series 3 LTE model starting at $279. This includes various band configurations in both sizes. Tax benefits are available in select states. Shop the entire sale here.

Macy’s introduced its much-anticipated Apple Watch Series 3 discount. While the 38mm $199 model has sold out for now, you can still grab the 42mm at $229. This offer is expected to re-surface later this week at Target.

Apple Black Friday deals: HomePod

Best Buy is now offering Apple HomePod at $250, which is good for $99 off the regular price. This is the second best offer that we’ve tracked all-time on Apple’s in-house speaker. We are leery of this deal selling out, so jump on it now if you’re at all interested.

Apple Black Friday deals: iPhone

Walmart will be offering up to $400 gift cards with purchase on new iPhones starting on Friday. Verizon is now taking $400 off the latest iPhones when you hop on their payment plan. Best of all? No trade-in required. Those looking for unlocked devices and wanting to pay outright will want to check out eBay’s Black Friday offers where iPhone XS and XS Max are each being discounted.

More deals are expected to pop-up throughout Black Friday and we’ll update this post accordingly. Best Buy’s offer of up to $150 off all of the latest iPhones is now live, but keep in mind that this offer is focused on monthly payment plans. If you (or your kids) don’t need the newest models, iPhone 6 is down to $99 in a pretty notable Walmart doorbuster sale.

Sprint has an intriguing offer currently going where you can grab an iPhone 7 from $100 on installment plans, which works out to just $4 per month. You can add a 6th generation 9.7-inch iPad for double that. This is a great deal for kids and grandparents that don’t require the latest technology.

Apple Black Friday deals: CarPlay

Best Buy has a number of notable CarPlay deals going this morning. We’re eyeing the $270 Sony model that is at its new all-time low price. You can expect more CarPlay discounts to creep up at Best Buy throughout this week.

Get the Furbo Dog Camera for $134 (Reg. $249) with free 2-day shipping. Furbo offers its best-selling, treat-tossing dog camera for 46% off for a limited time during Black Friday. How To Stream The 2023 World Series On Iphone, Ipad, Mac, And Apple Tv

The MLB World Series officially begins tonight, with the Boston Red Sox set to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers. Game 1 is taking place at Fenway Park in Boston, but luckily you’ll be able to tune in from anywhere. Read on for details on how to stream the World Series from your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV.

Game 1 is set to start at 8PM ET/5PM PT, with Fox handling the broadcast this year. As usual with Fox, they make it rather difficult to stream without some sort of cable solution – but here are some ideas.

Stream the World Series on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV

The easiest way to stream the World Series is through the Fox Sports Go application, which is available for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Unfortunately to do this you’ll need a valid cable log-in, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be yours and could instead be that of a friend or family member.

Download the Fox Sports Go app from the App Store for free.

If you’re looking to stream the World Series from your Mac, you can do so via the Fox Sports website, but again you’ll need a cable login to do so.

If, however, you don’t have easy access to a cable provider login, you’re not completely out of luck. Many of the streaming TV platforms, including DirecTV Now, Sling, and others, offer free trials that give you access to the World Series.

Sling TV, for instance, is touting itself as the “best way to catch all the Fall Classic action.” You’ll need the company’s Sling Blue package, which offers a 7-day free trial and access to FOX. Sign up for a Sling TV’s free 7-day trial here. Just remember to cancel if you don’t wish to be charged. The plan will renew at $25 per month after the trial.

DirecTV Now, YouTube TV, PlayStation Vue, FuboTV, and Hulu with Live TV will also allow you to stream the World Series, and offer trial periods. Here are those details:

In addition to allowing you to stream the World Series via their dedicated applications, these services can also serve as cable provider logins if you’d prefer to stream via the Fox Sports Go app.

World Series 2023 schedule

Wondering if a 7-day trial will let you stream the World Series in its entirety? Well, as long as it’s not a full seven game series, you should be good to go. Here’s the full schedule:

Tuesday, Oct. 23

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Boston Red Sox on FOX Game 1 – 8:09 p.m. ET

Wednesday, Oct. 24

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Boston Red Sox on FOX Game 2 – 8:09 p.m. ET

Friday, Oct. 26

Boston Red Sox @ Los Angeles Dodgers on FOX Game 3 – 8:09 p.m. ET

Saturday, Oct. 27

Boston Red Sox @ Los Angeles Dodgers on FOX Game 4 – 8:09 p.m. ET

Sunday, Oct. 28

Boston Red Sox @ Los Angeles Dodgers on FOX Game 5 (if necessary) – 8:09 p.m. ET

Tuesday, Oct. 30

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Boston Red Sox on FOX Game 6 (if necessary) – 8:09 p.m. ET

Wednesday, Oct. 31

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Boston Red Sox on FOX Game 7 (if necessary) – 8:09 p.m. ET

This 3-in-1 charging station from Belkin arrives with a built-in 15W MagSafe pad for wirelessly refueling your iPhone 12 or 13. Perfect for tidying up the desk or nightstand, it arrives with an integrated Apple Watch charging puck and a secondary 5W Qi pad on the base for powering up AirPods and the like. You can get a closer look in our hands-on review. I’ve also been personally using this one for a few months and can highly recommend it.

The official Anker eufy Amazon storefront is now offering its eufyCam 2C Pro 2-Cam Kit for $240. Ipad To Apple Tv, Mac Or Windows Pc

Airplay Mirroring is a fantastic feature of iOS present on the iPhone and iPad. It lets you mirror your iOS screen’s device, and basically everything that you do on it, to an Apple TV or a Mac computer. This turns out to be a incredibly useful feature while doing presentations and demos, creating screencasts or videos, or if you just want to showcase your iPad/iPhone photos on a bigger screen.

And the best past: Airplay Mirroring is incredibly easy to use as long as you have the right setup and software. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s needed and how to use Airplay Mirroring on the iPhone and iPad.

Requirements

1. An iPhone 4S/ iPad 2 or newer, running iOS 5 or any later version of iOS.

2. If you want to mirror to Apple TV: a 2nd gen or 3rd gen Apple TV running software version 5 or later.

3.If you want to mirror to a Mac: OS X Mountain Lion (or later) , a supported Mac, and an app to support mirroring. The list of supported Macs is:

iMac (Mid 2011 or newer)

Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer)

MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer)

MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer)

Two main apps that allow you to mirror your iPhone/iPad screen to a Mac are Reflector  and Air Server . Both of these apps offer free trials, are available for $14.99 for a single user license, and have other licensing packages for multiple users. Both these apps also work on Windows PCs. I tried Reflector for iOS 6 and Air Server for iOS 7, and both seem to be really good.

4. A WiFi network. All devices taking part in the AirPlay Mirroring must be on the same local WiFi network.

Installing Your App

Installing these apps is very easy. Once you purchase (or try) these apps, a file will automatically download onto your PC/Mac. On Macs, the installation is very easy. All you have to do is drag the app into your Mac’s Applications folder, and you’re done. Once you open the app, it will ask you whether you want to try or buy the app. If you choose to try the app, Reflector has a limitation. It will automatically shut down after 10 minutes and will then need to be restarted. Also, after I had used Reflector 2 times, the app started telling me that my trial had expired. Try Air Server, that’s better.

On Windows, installing Reflector is nearly identical, with the only difference being you will need to allow Firewall access for the app.

How To Turn On AirPlay Mirroring On iOS 5 & 6

1. Open up the Multitasking Bar on your iOS device. This can be done by double-tapping the Home button. If you are on a iPad, you can open the multitasking bar by using a swipe up gesture from the bottom bezel, provided you have enabled multitasking gestures in Settings.

2. Now that you can see the multitasking bar, swipe on the recently used apps list from the left to the right. This will need to be done once on an iPad and twice on a iPhone. Swipe until you see the Airplay Mirroring icon.

3. Tap on the Airplay Mirroring icon. This will bring up a popover dialog showing you various devices that are available to mirror to on your WiFi network. Note that you will need to have Reflector or Air Server open on your PC/Mac for the it to be available to mirror to.

4. Tap to select either the Apple TV or the Mac and tap to toggle the Mirroring button below the device name to On.

How To Turn Airplay Mirroring On in iOS 7

1. Open up the Control Centre on your iOS 7 device. This can be done by swiping up from the bottom of the screen on the iPhone as well as the iPad.

3. Select the device you would like to mirror your iOS device’s screen to.

That’s it. This really is a superb feature that’s so easy to use.

Friday 5: A New Apple Pencil

Looking for a few apps to keep you entertained this weekend? Then have a look at the latest edition of Friday 5. Inside, we discuss Linea — a brand new sketch app with Apple Pencil support. We also talk about Moonlight, an app that lets you stream NVIDIA GameStream-compatible games to an iOS device. Those, and three additional apps are on the docket for this week’s edition of Friday 5. Have a look at our brief hands-on video inside for the full rundown.

If you’re looking for a simple and straightforward sketchbook app that’s easy to pick up and use, then Linea is solid choice. Although it can work with just a finger, it’s especially good when paired with the Apple Pencil. Linea features low latency drawing with the Apple Pencil that’s similar to experience had when using the stock Notes app. But Linea is much deeper than the drawing tools found within Notes. The ability to use your finger as an eraser is particularly well done, as are the built-in backgrounds and storyboard options that make it easy for conceptual designers to get started quickly.

Thanks to our recent eGPU tutorials, I’ve found myself playing games on my GTX 1050ti-powered MacBook Pro via Windows. As such, I thought it would be neat to check out Moonlight, an iOS app that can stream games from NVIDIA GameStream-compatible systems.

Although it’s not perfect, I was impressed to be able to play Portal using my Steel Series Nimbus controller paired to my iPad Pro. If you have a GameStream-compatible setup, Moonlight is definitely worth experimenting with.

Battery life, or the lack thereof, continues to be a major concern for MacBook Pro owners. Volta is a brand new utility that allows users to have more fine-grained control over a hardware element that’s partially responsible for eating into battery life — the Intel i-series processor.

Volta lets users reduce the voltage supplied to the processor, disable the automatic Turbo Boost overclock, and establish a definitive power limit. Although we’ve yet to test Volta extensively enough to come to an adequate conclusion, in theory it should improve battery life under the right circumstances. Unfortunately, the app requires users to modify System Integrity Protection, so it won’t be for everyone.

If you’re a developer, an artist, or anyone else who regularly deals with colors on the Mac, then Drop is a color picker that may interest you.

One thing that sets Drop apart from other color pickers, such as the one built into macOS, is that it features Touch Bar integration. Users can mix colors directly from the Touch Bar interface and quickly select saved colors from there as well.

You more than likely already have the YouTube app installed on your iPhone, but did you know that the app contains a handy 10 second skip feature?

A simple double tap on the left or right side of an in-progress video will let you skip 10 seconds in either direction when watching your favorite videos.

What apps do you recommend?

How To Disable Icloud Photo Library On Iphone, Mac, And Apple Tv

Maybe you no longer want to store your entire photo library to iCloud or some other cloud services have caught your attention. Whatever could be the reason, you have decided to turn off iCloud Photo Library. This complete guide can take you through ensuring you are able to not just disable the photo syncing but also prevent the stored images from being deleted.

Apple offers you the desired flexibility to manage your synced photos. Therefore, if you ever want to turn off iCloud syncing of your photos, you can get it done without any pain.

Quick navigation:

How to Disable iCloud Photo Library Only On an Individual Device

You can choose to turn off iCloud Photo Library on a single device or disable it across the devices. If you want to use the cloud service but wish to exclude a device from it, you have the option to get it done. On the other hand, if you want to put a full stop on this feature, you can download all of your original photos and videos and also disable it.

On iPhone and iPad

Step #1. Launch the Settings app on your iOS device.

Step #2. Now, tap on Apple ID banner → iCloud → Photos.

Step #3. Next, turn off the switch next to the iCloud Photo Library.

Alternately, Settings app → Photos → turn off the switch next to iCloud Photo Library.

Now, you may see two options:

Remove from iPhone: If you choose this option, the photos that are yet to be fully downloaded will be removed from this iPhone. However, these images will still be available on other devices which are using the iCloud Photo Library

Download Photos & Videos: Allows you to download all of your images. I would recommend you to select Download Photos & Videos and wait until they have been downloaded. But if you don’t need them, go with the remove option

Note: On your device running iOS 10.2 or earlier, open Settings → iCloud → Photos and turn off the switch next to iCloud Photo Library.

In iOS 12 and macOS Mojave, iCloud Library is named as iCloud Photos.

On Mac

Step #1. Launch System Preferences on your Mac.

On Apple TV 4th-gen or Apple TV 4K

Step #1. Launch the Settings app on your Apple TV.

Step #3. Next, disable the iCloud Photo Library.

If you no longer want to use the cloud service, you can turn it off across your devices.

How to Turn Off iCloud Photo Library on All Devices

On your iOS device

Step #1. Open Settings app on your iOS device → Apple ID banner  → iCloud → Manage Storage.

Step #2. Now, Tap on Photos and then select Disable & Delete.

On your iPhone running iOS 10.2 or earlier, launch Settings → iCloud → Storage → Manage Storage → iCloud Photo Library, then choose Disable and Delete.

On your Mac

Step #1. Launch System Preferences on your Mac → iCloud.

Step #3. Next, Select Photo Library and then choose Disable and delete.

Keep in mind that your photos will be stored in your account for 30 days. After that, they will be deleted.

To download your photos and videos on your iOS device, open Settings app → Apple ID banner → iCloud → Photos and select Download and Keep Originals

On your Mac, launch Photos app select Photos → Preferences, then check the box next to Download Originals to this Mac

That’s all there is to it!

Wrapping up…

iCloud is undoubtedly the most secure cloud service in the world. It keeps your data protected through top-grade encryption. May I know the reason why you no longer use it? And if you have found any other service worth giving a try, do tell us its name and the features that have attracted you.
