Intranet Features For Employee Communication

“Company intranets should be built by stout internal communication programs. The achievement of an intranet is about 60 percent communication, 40 percent technology.” Bob Cohen,

An intranet is just like an umbrella under which one can get every required information relating to the company and the day-to-day work. It is the communication platform where we will get the dashboard showing a 360-degree view of the company activity. Employees can create content, participate in specific communication processes, work as a team, complete tasks and events, and develop the organization’s culture on a private and secure online network.

The company home platform is where teams assemble and build an essential repertoire, multi-efficient communication devices, and more. Like an internal communications network, an intranet is more than the number of its parts.

The intranet is a one-stop shop for everything. The intranet design should be commensurate with the employee’s needs and participation. It is a common platform that aids in communication (two-way), teamwork, knowledge management, content development and sharing, social networking, employee involvement, and scheduling.

6 Intranet Features For Successful Employee Communication

We must make dig deep inside the different features of an Intranet.

1. Intranet sits at the core of Communication

Three ways it helps an organization –

Top-down communications that are nothing but the leadership-to-employee communication

Feedback from the employees or the employee-leadership communication

Team discussion in the form of employees-to-employee communication

Now, a brief highlight of this will clarify the whole thing.

Intranet Terminates Basic Email Issues

A well-designed intranet can easily tackle all kinds of email issues when you forget to keep someone in the loop of an important mail, overlook a crucial update as the email was lost in a series of emails, or when you are stuck in a reply-all list. Intranet liaises with people in different ways and streamlines both instant communications. On the same pedestal, one can easily do a host of things: chat with colleagues, build up communities on different topics, do announcements on various company-related matters, write blogs, upload articles, and build up a knowledge dashboard relating to company proceedings.

Some internal communications statistics are given below:

Only 48% of the emails in connection to the internal communication sent are opened

And only 23% of those communications are opened

Therefore, it is evident that a significant portion of company communications still needs to be opened. For all the targeted recipients to open the communications, only sending emails is not a good idea.

Intranet aids in gathering the employee feedback

Employee engagement is evaluated by proper employee feedback. You can easily quantify employee satisfaction and keep track of employee improvement gaps and some issues that would directly impact employee turnover.

Employee engagement feedback surveys are great to conduct if these are not siloed in different departments; in most cases, the surveys are conducted by a third-party tool. On the contrary, if these surveys are done through an in-built tool hosted in the intranet, one can easily fetch the correct data housed in the company server and share it among different departments and teams to improve productivity. Also, the employees would be aware of this tool as they interact with it daily. This would ultimately increase communication in the workplace and, thereby, employee satisfaction as well.

Fig: 2. Employee percentage accepting communication process

The pessimism at the workplace stems up because of below three communication-centric causes:

Management is not properly directing the employees toward a common purpose by 38%

Overall poor communication by 14%

Regular changes that are not well-informed by 12%

2. Intranet Collaborates

For proper employee communication and output, it is very much required to have a common platform where all the employees can assemble into a shared cause. More often than not, the same message would become different when everyone is not properly synced. This would be precarious that there needs to be a centralized location from which people should collect content and connect.

Intranet creates a platform where everyone can communicate together and have things done

In most cases, you can find an intranet equipped to let you connect with your colleagues through some team page or project page. Employees can collaborate and share the content of mutual interest. You can create pages for a host of subjects:

External portals for customers

Knowledge banks

For employee induction

Campaigns marketing

Service or product introduction

So, your intranet would shape your communications, jobs, and content as you aspire to improve company communications.

Project management and task management are simplified by intranet.

An intranet helps set and manage projects and tasks on the same pedestal. It is the platform to look after similar other business activities. The intranet aids the project team in completing the project. In real-time, one can easily check the progress, fix any problem without the emails flooding, and follow linked discussions to understand encounters and supplies better.

And task management keeps an eye on your work progress, helps allocate tasks to others, and ensures perfect completion of project-related tasks. One can swiftly share files and data in one room without putting it in Dropbox or other shared reserves.

The intranet serves internal stakeholders.

Submit different policy documents of the organizations

Build a knowledge bank or internal wiki

Announce various company-centric or department-wise communications

Allow an instant chat to solve the problems briskly

Broadcast a step-by-step video

3. Intranet acts as the Knowledge Management tool

Just think about a situation when searching for an important file in several locations you think you kept: Dropbox, Google Drive, One Drive, your Company Website, or your internal server. And searching in various locations simply make your head spin, and you have not found the file at last. So, in such a situation, an intranet can help you store your important documents in an orderly manner.

Intranet always empowers you to integrate your documents.

One can build a knowledge repository to put different documents, e.g., HR onboarding documents, project-related files, etc.

You can easily send files through the intranet and via chat; The system automatically archives the conversation to assist us in obtaining the history in chronological order.

Intranet increases productivity

The success and failure of any project depend more on properly storing the data and files. It not only saves time and thus would directly impact the ROI but also reduces tensions and frustrations. For instance, when you give a final touch to project completion, you rest assured to pick the right document for your client. In case of giving onboarding files to the new joiners, you can easily send the HR page link that houses the pertinent documents meant for them. According to a study by McKinsey Global Institute, you can reduce the time used for searching any document by about 35%, thus relieving 6% of the time spent on other important tasks.

Intranet always creates a real-time knowledge base

The right intranet design helps create a knowledge base to document recurrently positioned files and documents, for example:

Policy and Practices

Value materials

News and success stories

Important FAQs

Employee albums

Training materials

HR handbook

Important links containing helpful tools and files

And these are not all. Some more items are uploaded in the systems – questions asked in forums, team discussions, and tickets raised in the helpdesk. All of these could be uploaded to the intranet and added to the knowledge base that you can use time after time for different needs. Also, there could be a tab of ideas that invites public ideas. This tool would drive creativity at various levels.

4. Intranet gives social networking option

An intranet always allows one to liaise virtually with peers from different departments, thus reducing the barriers and silos; the employees can easily connect and share feedback on topics of mutual interests and learning. And this improves communication and knowledge sharing at company levels, teams, and departments. The employees will get to know people inside and outside their teams. The managers can get to know the subordinates, which would finally break the conventions, and together they can grow, indirectly impacting productivity.

The intranet builds internal communication channels.

Without leaving the desk, making calls, or sending emails, the employees can connect by giving feedback in the discussion trails on any specific topic. Thus, connection with geographically spread teams would happen to inspire teamwork.

Intranet aids in finding and knowing your employees You can create, share, and publish good content across boundaries and departments through the Intranet.

Blogs and new trends in the industry

New skills for others to follow

Big team win

New launch

New strategy or process

Cool photos and videos

5. Employee involvement and growth center: abolish employee disappointment

At every organizational move, employee engagement is seen as the bottom line. Employee engagement enhances productivity and motivates employees. This finally positively impacts customer satisfaction and employee morale.

Employee engagement stats

The Del Carnegie Training study indicates that almost 71% of employees from large companies need to be more engaged.

In another study by Gallup Research, the employee disengagement is about 18%, thus hampering overall productivity.

The intranet binds employees with the company’s mission, vision, and values.

We often wonder if every employee is aligned with the company’s mission, vision, and value! And are they properly aligned and emotionally connected to it? A study done on 40000 employees by the TINYpulse survey shows only 40% are aware of it. The employee engagement process allows all the employees to get emotionally attached to the company’s mission, vision, and values. The intranet is giving everyone this access in a central location. You can reach your employees in different formats and segments and reinforce them in multifaceted ways: through blogs, discussion, articles, videos, and personalized pages to promote the brand.

Intranet creates developmental opportunities for employees.

Employees with ample opportunities to develop themselves would be more satisfied. A company can create different career growth plans for employees, thus reducing attrition. And just by reducing the gaps between resources they need for their growth and their deliverables, a company can streamline mismatch. The intranet here does this perfect job of supporting and tracking the employee growth programs in the following manner:

Consolidating the training materials and best practices

Collecting feedback from employees for the betterment of the programs.

Relaying the company culture to everyone.

Tracking the progress of every employee.

Allowing every one of them a chance to monitor their developments.

Intranet chances a viral connection with all on developmental plans and unique ideas

When it comes to communication that is doled out to employees through email, there is a probability that those email messages might be lost in the inboxes, or people might not take the initiatives to open those emails. It is very commonplace everywhere. An employee might miss the important communication sent to him on his personal developments. And sometimes, this may tend to make them feel left out or insignificant.

The intranet also empowers employees to utilize their roles and careers:

Own projects and similar important tasks

Share creative ideas

Avail opportunities

Monitor their goal development

Advise the process progresses

Watch out for additional drills and education

Keep a watch on what others inside and outside the teams are doing

Steve Roesler, a noted communication strategist, chalked out ten important questions that would aid in engaging employees in the workplace. These checklists are effective in formulating easy solutions to intranet problems:

6. Intranet acts as a scheduling tool

The intranet makes scheduling and monitoring meetings, events, and appointments easy. This extraordinary facility would benefit all the employees.

Easy planning for meeting inspiring employee participation

People might have more than one tool to schedule their engagements, but those are ineffective as it would be a time-consuming process. This feasibility ensures good employee participation. You can email employees regarding the meetings or events, but this process is cumbersome. The inbox can lose emails or skip important persons. The easiest and smart way is to schedule a shared calendar in your company intranet and get a quick look at everyone’s convenience. Thus one can schedule a time for a meeting.

Creating attractive events

Other than setting time and calendars, there is more information relating to the events that make the events interesting and popular.

Complete information about the event

Photos and videos relating to the event to make it more enticing. Soon after the event, there can be an even update, photos, and videos.

Detailed road map to the events

Information of eateries, shops, and any other noteworthy places to drop in

A proper intranet design is always a stepping stone for effective internal communication. It always gives people an edge to liaise with their colleagues on any shared topic and gives endless utilities. We have seen people widely accessing the proper use of the intranet to increase the mass effect of the platform. It is the platform where they source and search for anything, create, share, learn, and motivate others that, in turn, increase the efficacy of the work, directly impacting the ROI. It is not right to say anything negative, but it can always be said that a proper intranet design is always half the work done since the right two-way communication channels are concerned.

Flock Team Communication App For Iphone

Flock Team Communication App for iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, and Linux is one of the finest and robust communication tools that helps you be a part of a team and work together. It lets you create channels for group conversation as well as integrate popular services like Dropbox, Google Calendar, and more. Excited? Here is my take on Flock as a team communication app.

Before we begin, please know that in my review here, I have focused on the Mac app.

Flock Team Communication App for iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, and Linux Initial Setup Process

The set-up process for Flock App is straightforward. On the initial set-up screen, Flock lets you create your team or find team to join an existing one. To be a part of a current team, you can ask the admin for a URL, or you may even input the name and search for it.

Finally, a notification is sent to existing members when a new person joins the team. They may say ‘Hi’ and welcome the fresh entrant. If you ever feel you receive too much of these, you have the option to hide those messages.

Design, Colors, and Layout of Flock App for Mac and Windows

After set-up, you are treated with a clean and polished design. On the left side, you have two sidebars – one very thin that has a list of Accounts (or workplace), and the second normal-sized sidebar has open chats, pinned chats, and more.

In the middle, you have your central column. On the top right of this, there are clean, separate icons for audio calls, video calls, and creating a private channel with invited members to have a private group discussion.

On the right, there is another organized sidebar that boasts options for search, files, to-do, calendar, Google Drive, and more.

The green, white, and gray color scheme imparts a neat look and feel, and it is comfortable on the eyes. On Mac and Windows, the Flock app also supports dark mode.

Flock Channels for Group Communication

Flock app gives you the option to create infinite specific channels for focused communications. If your workplace is a media house, you may have multiple channels for writers, digital marketing professionals, HR department, and finally a channel for memes too. You can also create a channel for temporary projects or for a small group of certain employees.

A unique feature that Flock has is Smart Channels. They let you predefine membership rules, and when in future, any new employee matches the set criteria, they will be automatically added to the channel.

Audio and Video Calls on Flock

Now when we talk about audio calls, it is a bit complex. Currently, Flock allows you to make audio call from its smartphone app. You require a SIM card. When you initiate a voice call, you and the participant get a number that needs to be dialed. Further, there is a Moderator PIN and a Participant PIN to input. In short, the experience is doable but cumbersome. I contacted their support (more about it later), and one solution they provided is to make a video call and turn the camera off. Well, for the time being, I see no harm in this.

Collaboration and Working Together with Flock

Collaboration tools on Flock are plenty. Realistically chat, calls, creating and getting answers via polls, writing plus sharing notes and code snippets are all collaboration tools. You can use them in private chats or channels with multiple people.

The quick to-dos built right into the app has options like adding due date, and assigning it to a person. The Shared To-dos bot reminds you in the morning of the to-dos you have for that day. Overall, Flock works as a great task management app.

In addition to these, you can also invite guests to work with you. They can be customers, vendors, freelancers, etc. Flock only lets them access specified channels and contacts. I believe this excellent option will be super handy in situations when you need an external perspective from someone outside your workplace, like a knowledgeable friend.

Flock also lets you access your entire company directory. This means that you can quickly begin a chat and collaborate with just about anyone.

Flock Chat with Polls, Notes, Google Drive, and More

To start a chat, you may select a person from the list. Additionally, you may invite a colleague with their email address to start a conversation. The clean chat screen lets you collaborate one to one or in team/group via channels.

Good old emojis and big stickers enable you to say more with less. They are beautiful to look at, and it is fun to share them.

My experience with Poll: I created a Poll, shared a few programming code snippets, and also shared a note with one of my fellow workers. The practice is quick and impressive. If you are familiar with Slack, you would know that poll and notes, along with some other features that are in Flock, aren’t available by default on Slack.

One neat thing is that when you create a poll, you have the option to turn on ‘vote anonymously.’ So, if you want honest feedback about something, from people whom you pay, this feature is a must-have.

Third-Party App Integrations

Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Analytics, GitHub, Dropbox, Trello, Twitter, Giphy, One Drive, Pingdom, and more play nicely with Flock app. Currently, it has integration with over 60 top chosen productivity apps.

So next time you have to access GitHub, do it from within the Flock app. There is no need to switch apps or worry about sharing rich GitHub content. Flock ensures that you have everything in one place and focus on growth than utilize time elsewhere.

Pro Tip: Flock also provides you with the freedom to build your apps and integrations via the Flock API.

Flock Support

I had a confusion with audio calls, and I sent a message to Flock Support right from the app. Sending them a message is the same as sending a message to a coworker.

I hoped the customer care would take time to reply. But within a few minutes, I heard back from a human support representative. The person was kind enough to address my issue and also note my query for future product development. Overall the experience was quick, effortless, and fantastic. If you wish for a personalized demo, you can get that here as well.

Other Features Ease of Use and Verdict

After having used Flock for some time on multiple devices, I can conclude that the service is easy to use for people of all kinds. Everything is standard and beautiful. Within some minutes, you can explore the app and get to business.

The look and design screams ‘work’ from the first glimpse. App integrations, organized sidebars, availability on all major platforms including web, the attention to design, a plethora of collaboration tools, easy adding to calendar or setting a reminder, and top-notch security are things that make me recommend this over the competitors.

A successful company begins with happy and productive people. Flock is here to ease the way you communicate among one another. It is built with creativity and fluidity in mind. Flock will assist you and your coworkers to talk, share, collaborate, and save time.

Terms Used Electronic Communication Systems

Electronic communication systems dissolve the communication power to both the positive and negative impacts. Analogue or digital signals are fed to the system, processed in the circuits electronically for transmission and then deduced by the receiver.

Electronic communication systems are said to be highly reliable and efficient when the errors are minimised in the procedures. Social networking is the most utilised electronic communication system among the rest. People utilise mostly to share their opinion, and views on a respective matter through the assistance of social media platforms.

What is an electronic communication system?

Electronic communication is referred to as the sort of communication that is viewed, stored, transmitted or broadcasted utilising the electronic media such as phones, email, video and computers. Electronic communication in recent days provides immense benefit in the quick transformation of the data (Saregar et al. 2023).

Figure 1: Electronic communication system

In this digitalisation, communications have been enhanced with a broader range and it is possible and accessible only with the assistance of electronic communication systems. A lot of transformation has gradually occurred in the workspace, areas and society because of the Electronic communication system (Pollacco et al. 2023).

This source of communication is developed by transmitting information such as images, graphics, pictures, sounds, software, maps and many more

Types of communication systems

Communication systems are classified into different types which include analogue and digital

Analogue communication utilises analogue signals for the transference of information. Analogue communication utilises the signals that are represented by the sine waves. Analogue is mentioned as the constant time-varying signal where communication exchanges between two or more with the specified source. The messages created by the sources are generally in the form of analogue which is converted to digital type and then transmitted

A digital communication system utilises digital signals for information transmission

Electronic communication systems are categorised into distinct types which include messaging, voice calls, email, social media and many more. Communication medium has gradually transformed and developed due to the manner public communicates with each other for distinct purposes (Yazdeen et al. 2023).

Electronic communication systems make life more feasible with their wider reach to people across different parts of the world.

Uses of Electronic communication system

Electronic communication system lets individuals combine multiple media such as texts, graphics, sounds, video and others in a single message.

These consequences are meaningful interactions tailored to the nature of a specific audience. Narrowcasting and broadcasting represent the capability to improve numerous communications for the market subset.

As opined by Marković et al. (2024), electronic communication is quite interactive and involves the individual in two-way communications more actively. Electronic communication systems are used widely in every sector as it makes a new form of many-to-many interactions. Many organisational and business sectors utilise the facilities of electronic communication systems such as WWW (World Wide Web) as their personal interaction tools to enhance the effectiveness of teamwork.

Terms used in Electronic communication systems

Some of the common terms that are mostly utilised in Electronic communication system are −

Signals − Data is required to be converted into some digital type before it can be transformed electronically. A signal is demonstrated as that information which has been changed into digital type

Communication channel − The channel of communication is demonstrated as the medium by which a signal is transformed from the receiver or sender. The channel of communication can be simple copper or even a satellite system

Transducer − A transducer is referred to as the device that transfigures one energy form into the other. It is basically a device in the communication system electronically which transforms one physical variable type such as force, pressure and temperature (Luo et al. 2023). A basic example of a transducer is a phone’s receiver

Amplification − Amplification is referred to as the procedure of strengthening the signal’s amplitude utilising the electronic circuit. The amplitude of the signal gets low when the length between the receiver and sender’s signal is too large. In attaining this issue, amplification of that signal is carried out to rejuvenate the power.

Modulation − Modulation is described as the act of data added to the optical-electronic waveform. The information is added by changing the phase of frequency of the waveform. Modulation in every case is extremely required because data is transferred and created via signals possessing low frequencies mostly (Feng et al. 2023).

A low-frequency signal is highly allowable for attenuation and it cannot be transmitted to the locations for long-distance. The original carrier wave possessing a low frequency is superimposed upon the carrier wave of high frequency. The complete procedure is termed modulation where AM and FM are considered major instances

Electronic communication systems have been proven to be immensely beneficial in different places as many individuals at distinct locations can work on similar documents, integrate research findings and hold meetings. The Internet and electronic communication system are often referred to as the enhanced tool for communication in the digitalised age. People can easily access globally without any physical movements with a distinct personality through the use of an Electronic communication system.

Q1. What is Bandwidth in an electronic communication system?

The highest data transformation amount over the connection of the internet is a provided time amount. Bandwidth is often falsely considered for the speed of the internet when the original volume is sent over the connection in a calculated time amount.

Q2. What are the main two types of Electronic communication media?

Email and social media are the most utilised media in the Electronic communication system. Through social media, users can publicly post to a particular group. Email is a personalised messaging app used mainly for official purposes.

Q3. What are the distinct types of Electronic communication?

Blogs, EBooks, calendars, data conferencing and many more are the types of electronic communication. Electronic communication systems are transmitted both over wireless and wired systems.

Q4. What does the term Repeater signify in the Electronic communication system?

Repeater performs both as the receiver and sender in the electronic communication system. The repeater’s job is to expand the communication systems’ ranges by signal amplification. A weak signal is obtained at the repeater which is re-transformed and amplified

Gprs Architecture In Wireless Communication

Wireless Communication

Wireless communication is the process of sending voice and other forms of data without the installation of cables and wires. Radio communication systems are used at earlier stages of wireless transmitters, later then modulation is used within transmitters that use electromagnetic signals to send voice, data files, video, or other media signals over the network.

Wireless networks connect the network devices to a laptop, tablets, mobile phones, and other support devices to access the internet connection thereby eliminating the physical cabling of wires. After the invention of 4G standards in cellular networking, wireless applications are mostly by the users for speed and performance rate, but these factors may vary based on the network range supported by the devices. The evolution of wireless technology has reached its heights from a simple data transfer rate of 54 Mbps to many Gigabytes.

Two standards that support the cellular networks from the earlier version are GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications), CDMA (Code-Division Multiple Access), and later GPRS (General packet Radio Service) with the work architecture of GSM.

General Packet Radio Service uses the architecture of GSM to transmit the data packets over the network with a data transport rate from 9.6 to 171 kbps and can allow multiple users to share the same interface at a single point in time. GSM systems do not provide easy access and performance when multiple users access the resources concurrently and this has made GPRS systems in action to provide packet-switched services with end-to-end support.

Enhanced security services are included in GPRS to ensure authentication and confidentiality and add a cipher algorithm during packet transmission. GSM uses a circuit-switched method to send the data packets with a data transfer rate of 14.4Kbps whereas GPRS uses packet-switched services with a data rate of 57. 6Kbps. Two additional entities are added with GSM architecture and new interfaces are defined for wireless communication purpose when 2G, 3G, or next-generation networks wants to send data along with other media information to handle the packet-switched data during the transmission process.

GPRS architecture

The new network elements added to the existing GSM architecture are the Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) Gateway GPRS supporting node (GGSN) and Packet Control unit (PCU).

It works similarly to the Mobile Switching Center of the GSM network system. This extends its services listed below within a network, PCU determines the routing of the data either to be sent to the circuit or packet-switched networks. To create a data connection or call, GPRS needs to activate SGSN via the BS (Base Station) of the network area.

The size of the data unit transmitted over the channel can be reduced by implementing data compression methods.

When the connection is made to the external network the routing of the actual data is done by the SGSN node, which is then linked to the respective GGSN.

It provides authentication, security, and session management.

It supports mobility management, as users are connected wirelessly and move from one place to other which can change from one SGSN to another SGSN node.

Location register which is present within SGSN to store local information (visitor location) and user profile details for all the users who use the GPRS system registered with the specific SGSN.

Charging functions are included with Call Detailed Record (CDR) information which is needed by the network service providers to send invoice details to the customers.

Gateway functions support temporary storage and transport of the CDR data for billing systems.

Performance and maximum withhold capacity of SGSN are defined by parameters like the maximum number of users at a single point in time, maximum throughput, and the number of packet data control supported.

It acts as an internetworking unit between GPRS and external data packet networks. It has routing information and routes the packet from the external IP to the respective SSGN with the same GPRS network. It also routes the packets from the user side to an external IP network address. It does address conversion and sends data to the destination address by encapsulation method. It acts as a traffic filter to control the data information, that is collected from external networks.

It is a piece of hardware connected to the BSC (Base Station Controller) either internally or near SGSN outside. It is used to separate between GSM and GPRS traffic systems, which is the core unit in GPRS architecture. It is used to classify the packet and circuit switched traffic from the user end and sends it to respective GSM and GPRS networks.

Network Upgradation

When new upgrades are needed by the network, then network operators will look for operational and expenditure costs. When the GPRS system must be deployed this may not incur more of a cost to buyers or network operators as it is an extended GSM architecture with few network nodes SGSN and GGSN added within the network.

Changes must be made to the Base station by including the PCU unit in each BSC node. Software used in BTS (Base Transceiver Station) needs to be upgraded and can be done remotely by the operators.

GPRS architecture supports circuit switches as well as packet services to transport the data through the network. When GPRS is used in wireless communication devices, the data transfer rate is efficiently higher than GSM as it supports multiple users to send and broadcast multimedia data concurrently.

The January Patch Tuesday have arrived, and with them come a variety of new changes and fixes for all versions of Windows 10.

There are currently 9 different versions of the OS still actively receiving Patch Tuesday updates, and with so many versions still available, the cumulative updates themselves vary in terms of what they bring.

However, sometimes a vulnerability that is very critical is detected, and all cumulative updates address that particular issue, and that is precisely the case with this month’s updates

A severe vulnerability issue with intranet servers was fixed

According to the official Microsoft changelog, e very serious security vulnerability was fixed that targeted HTTPS-based intranet servers:

Addresses a security vulnerability issue with HTTPS-based intranet servers. After installing this update, HTTPS-based intranet servers cannot, by default, use a user proxy to detect updates.

Scans using these servers will fail if you have not configured a system proxy on the clients. If you must use a user proxy, you must configure the behavior using the policy Allow user proxy to be used as a fallback if detection using system proxy fails.

To ensure the highest levels of security, also use Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) Transport Layer Security (TLS) certificate pinning on all devices.

This change does not affect customers who are using HTTP WSUS servers. For more information, see Changes to scans, improved security for Windows devices.

Additionally, these update also address a security bypass vulnerability that affected the Printer Remote Procedure Call (RPC) binding handles authentication for the remote Winspool interface.

All things considered, it is solely up to you whether to update your Windows 10 PC or not, as you can easily pause your Windows Update menu from automatically downloading them for you.

If you have no idea how to prepare your PC for Patch Tuesday updates, then here is a list of best practices for Patch Tuesday that you should follow every month before applying these updates.

This is so that the update process goes flawlessly, so that you won’t encounter any Windows 10 Update errors, and get the latest protective features as soon as possible.
