But Valve, the company behind Steam (and Half-life, Dota, Counter-Strike, and other great things), tends to stay strangely quiet about some of its finest features. So I’m here to brag on its behalf. Here are five of my favourite Steam features.

1. Move Games Between Hard Drives

One of the most recently-added perks of Steam is the option to move games between hard drives (which kind of negates a piece I wrote just before that about ways to move games between drives).

2. Get a Refund 3. Steam Family Sharing

Probably the single best feature of Steam, Family Sharing, lets you share your entire games library with fellow Steam users. The catch is that you can’t play games in another person’s library while they’re playing their own games, but beyond that it’s pretty unrestricted.

That’s it. Enjoy using your friend’s games library!

4. In-Home Streaming

If you do most of your gaming on a heavyweight gaming PC in the airing cupboard but want to play on the TV downstairs, you can stream Steam to a lesser device, like a laptop that you can then connect to the TV.

5. Manage Games in Bulk

A neat little trick, but very much a hidden one. Gone are the days of playing single games to death – you probably have at least 100 games in your library and want a way to install, uninstall and generally manage them en masse. Luckily, you can do this much as you would in Windows by holding the “Ctrl” key while selecting games.

17 Things You Can Do With Quicktime Player On Mac

Loop a video

Zoom in on a video

When you’re playing a clip and want to zoom in, all you have to do is press the Command + Plus (+) keys. And to do the opposite, hit Command + Minus (-) keys.

Play multiple videos at the same time

You can open multiple videos in separate QuickTime windows and play or pause them all together in one stroke. It’s very cool. Give it a try:

Hold the Command key and select several videos in your Mac’s folder.

Now, hold the Command key and hit the return/enter key to play or pause all those videos at once.

Play videos from the internet

Since QuickTime is a video player, you can obviously open most downloaded video and audio files in it.

See metadata of media files

After you open a video in QuickTime Player, simply press Command + I to see its details like original resolution, size, data rate, current size/dimensions, video & audio format, FPS (frames per second), aspect ratio, audio channel, and more.

Record your Mac’s screen

Record your iPhone’s screen or FaceTime, WhatsApp, and other calls

iOS has a built-in screen recorder, but at times, like when you want to record a FaceTime call or WhatsApp video call, you can connect your iPhone to your Mac and record the call with audio. Here’s how:

Take screenshots or screen recordings of your Apple TV

Ever wanted to grab what you see on your Apple TV screen? It’s easy. Just make sure your Apple TV and Mac are on the same Wi-Fi network, and use QuickTime to take a screenshot or make a movie recording.

Record videos

Use it as an audio recorder

Mac has a built-in Voice Memos app, but that’s not your only option. You can record high-quality audio in QuickTime Player:

Open QuickTime.

Hit the tiny arrow next to the red record button and choose Maximum quality.

Finally, hit the white-red record button.

Your Mac will now record 44100 Hz, uncompressed Linear PCM 24-bit AIFF-C audio.

Edit a video

Merge two or more videos into one

Open the first video in QuickTime Player.

To change the order of a clip, select it on the timeline and drag it before the other video.

Split a video

Open the video in QuickTime Player on Mac.

Now, drag the red line to the position from where you want to split the video clip.

Next, choose the other unwanted clip and hit the delete key to get rid of it.

Reduce the video quality or change video codecs

Suppose you have a 4K video that you want to downgrade to 1080p so that it can be played on low-end phones and tablets. Instead of downloading an extra app, you can let QuickTime handle this. Here’s how:

Open the video in QuickTime Player on Mac.

Extract the audio from a video file

Create a video or GIF using an image sequence

If you took many photos in a sequence, like burst photos, you can turn them all into a video using these steps:

Open QuickTime Player on your Mac.

Rather than cross-posting the same content on every platform, you can edit handles, hashtags, language and links to make each post appropriate for its intended home. It’s also great for targeting different time zones, languages, regions or audiences.

If you’re running a big campaign, starting with duplicated posts can help keep your content consistent and aligned.

2. Collaborate on drafts before posting them

Google has changed a lot in the last few years. It’s not just about the 10 links that come up on the search results page anymore. Now there are Google Ads, Maps results, Google My Business listings, knowledge panels, and rich snippets all taking up real estate on a search result page.

With so many different ways to get your business on Google, people have started to wonder, “Is SEO dying?” But the truth is that SEO is alive and well and is a key component of a healthy marketing strategy. Why? Let’s explore.

1. Search Overall Is on the Rise

As long as people are using search engines to find businesses, information, and entertainment, SEO will continue to be important. And, more searches are happening now than ever. 5 Nft Projects On Tezos You Need To Know About

Looking to dive further into the NFT space? You can start by straying off the virtual beaten path and exploring projects hosted on blockchains besides the monolithic Ethereum network. One such blockchain that’s worth looking into is Tezos.

Built by Kathleen and Arthur Breitman in 2023, this blockchain sets itself apart from its contemporaries in a few notable ways. Firstly, it’s capable of evolving and self-amending, which enables programs hosted on it to scale themselves up relatively quickly and reliably.

Perhaps more importantly, though, Tezos is also renowned in NFT circles due to how it runs on a Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism. This method of verifying transactions on a blockchain is widely regarded as being much less resource-intensive than the Proof-of-Work model Ethereum runs on. Thanks to this, Tezos has been touted as the environmentally-friendly blockchain — using up to two million times less energy than Ethereum.

One of the first marketplaces on the Tezos blockchain was Hic et Nunc (HEN). At the time, it was heralded as an economic alternative to Ethereum-centric marketplaces. But the platform suddenly shut down on November 14, 2023 with no explanation.

Fortunately, the NFTs that were listed there are now on Tezos’ array of other marketplaces. These include Objkt, the largest and most popular marketplace on the Tezos chain; Teia, a marketplace that was created in the image of Hic et Nunc shortly after it was shut down; Kalamint, one of the first Tezos NFT marketplaces to ever exist; and OneOf, which specializes in music and sports memorabilia.

Tezzards

First up is Tezzards, a generative PFP collection consisting of 4,200 Tezos-native lizards, or ‘Tezzards.’ Each Tezzard in the collection is a combination of 97 traits hand-drawn by illustrator and digital artist George Goodwin. As such, each Tezzard carries Goodwin’s signature cartoon style. On top of the 4,200 Tezzards created in the initial mint, six super rare one-of-one Tezzards hand-drawn by Goodwin himself are hidden in the collection.

Since launching in 2023, these ‘snazzy’ lizards have received glowing praise throughout the NFT community. According to the project’s website, noted NFT collectors like Chris Wallace, chúng tôi and Jesse Altman are among the biggest champions for this project.

Noted 3D artist in the NFT sphere John Karel came up with the perfect project to commemorate Halloween 2023: an animated collection of spooky, scary skeletons. Dubbed randomly common skeles, the open-edition mint went on for 24 hours, starting at 8pm UTC on October 31.

Karel crafted 800 traits for the collection, all evenly distributed throughout the 24-hour mint and available for purchase at the very reasonable price of 5 TEZ. At the time, that was roughly equivalent to $31, ensuring anyone who wanted to get in on the skeleton action could do so with no issue.

FxHash

FxHash is a platform for generative art, enabling anyone with a Tezos crypto wallet to mint iterations of generative tokens hosted on the platform. These iterations are all touted as being FA2 compliant, enabling users participating in generative art projects via mint to freely exchange the NFTs they generate.

Aside from that, FxHash also functions as an open marketplace for generative art, with the site itself stating that its marketplace features “no curation,” and is “open to everyone.” For anyone who’s stumbled across Art Blocks in the past, this platform may just be right up your alley.
